Got another 5 points for "Oystercatchers" for 5.3 spring cleaning, which brings me up to 285 points.I guess the rush is on-I figure I have to read 20 books to finish the challenge! I don't think I'll make that, but I would be happy with 350 points.

I'm at the very beginning, and I'm super busy, so it's just not a book that's easy to read quick snippets of while waiting for the bus. I think it would be fine if I sat down to read for an hour at a time. It does have quite an Irish brogue written in, which can be a teeny bit distracting, but I lived in Cork for a bit and most of it's familiar.
I just finished Wrinkles in Time by George Smoot for Bonnie's Task (25 points). I usually read fiction, so a non-fiction, science book was different. It was very interesting though.I am now at 75 points.

Welcome to the insanity (in a good way)!
Last night i completed 25 point task #8 (2 YA books). I had already finished Geek Charming by Robin Palmer, and I just finished Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy by Ally Carter.This one was a fun and quick read! Cammie is like a mix between Mia Thermopolis and Sydney Bristow - part awkward girl, part super spy. My only criticism would be that the ending felt a little sudden. This was the second book in a series, so if you are interested, you'll want to read I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have to Kill You first.
My points total for the challenge is now up to 80!
For task 5.2, I just finished "From A to X: A Story in Letters" by John Berger. It was a fast read for me, though I'm sure if I was interested in finding deeper hidden meanings in the story, it would have taken much longer. My new point total is 225.
I just finished Memoirs of a Geisha, for a 25 point task. That gives me a total of 35 points.

I finally finished up with school, so now I'm back to the challenge! Today I finished reading Maus part I and II for Bonnie's challenge (read a book outside yor normal genre = 25 pts). I would never be inclined to pick up a graphic novel, but after hearing so much about this one I had to give it a try. It was fantastic. I would highly recommend it.

Just finished Gulliver's Travels. Ugh. I'd like to see an updated abridged version. This book was too long and too wordy.[image error]
I completed 25.6 (Jon's British Monarchy task) with Julia Gelardi's In Triumph's Wake - it traces the history of three pairs of royal mothers and daughters, Isabella of Spain and her daughter Catherine of Aragon (later Henry VIII's first wife), Austria's Maria Theresa and her daughter Marie Antoinette, and England's Queen Victoria and her daughter Vicky. The central theme is that the accomplishments of the mothers are counterpointed by the tragic fates of the daughters, but Gelardi doesn't develop the connections much beyond "they are similar." Overall, I was looking for a little more depth - it's a fascinating concept, but the surface treatment combined with a little too much historian's remove made it somewhat less than I'd hoped for.Current Total: 365

Completed task 5.2 - Read a non-fiction collection of letters/journal etc.I read Life's That Way:A Memoir by Jim Beaver. This book only arrived this morning, but once I'd started it, I couldn't put it down. When actor Jim Beaver's wife was diagnosed with cancer, he began to send a nightly email update to family & friends. This journal is a years worth of those letters. It is at times heart-breaking, humorous and uplifting.
