Buddy reads? haha, I've done the same thing with those two books. I think that we should set up a buddy read when we want to read them, that way a group of us can all read together!

Debra | 63 comments I went through this list and marked the books that I have read which is 18...but I know several others I have started and just didn't finish...but there are many books on this list that I already have and would like to read. I will put my goal at 20 from this list.

Just post on this thread (link below) and say a book you want a buddy for and when you're planning to read it. Then once another person (or several other people) have posted that they are interested, Ashley will post a new thread for it a week or so before the buddy read stars. :)

Editing to ask: Do people normally post updates in separate replies like this, or just edit their original post in the thread? Sorry I'm not clear on that!

Nathan (nthnlwly) Amanda wrote: "Editing to ask: Do people normally post updates in separate replies like this, or just edit their original post in the thread? Sorry I'm not clear on that!"

Most people post updates in new replies! That's no problem at all. It's actually a lot easier for the challenge leaders to know what your number is if you post new messages when you're updating, rather than editing posts from before. I always post new messages when I'm updating. :)

How did you like Ender's Game? It's one of my absolute favourite books! I'm going to reread it this year - the movie comes out in November, I believe.

Thanks, Trevor! I did a new reply and then wondered if I was being helpful or just annoying, LOL. :)

I loved Ender's Game! I couldn't put it down! And I'm going to see if my library has the other books in the series as well. Are they as good, in your opinion?

message 78: by Kara (new)

Kara (karaayako) | 3984 comments If you liked the YA/battle part of Ender's Game, I would recommend continuing with the Shadow series instead of the Ender series. The Ender series gets more philosophical. The Shadow series, on the other hand, follows Bean and continues the story on Earth.

Definitely helpful!

As Kara said, I'd recommend the Shadow series over the Ender series if you liked the YA feel of EG. In my opinion, the Ender series goes downhill as it proceeds but I've consistently liked the Shadow books. My favorite Enderverse books, besides EG, are Ender's Shadow (the first of the Shadow books) and Ender in Exile. Speaker for the Dead was pretty good too, but after that the Ender storyline kind of drops for me. But try them anyway! It's still fun to follow the characters. I love the characters of OSC. He does such a great job forming good characters.
I'm so sorry, I'm such a nerd when it comes to Ender's Game. I gush sometimes. lol
