It is 12:36 p.m. and I have about an hour to read before getting ready for work. Just put some food in the oven. I haven't picked up my Harry Potter book in several days because I'm attempting to teach myself the art of reading one book at a time. I'm getting there. Down from four to two. Hoping everyone is having a good day!

message 2652: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (notrace) It's almost 10 am here and just finishing my first cup of coffee. I need to catch up in my groups today, I've been neglecting them lately. Sorry.

message 2653: by [deleted user] (new)

Enjoy your coffee Tracy and just have a leisurely stroll through the posts. Have fun!

Lee (leeshirk) | 203 comments Okay so I am browsing through groups on GR to see what else is out there and might be interesting, and why do I see a group called Vaginal Fantasy Hangout??? Really? Oh yeah and it is 1:16pm because I wouldn't want to be off topic or anything... LOL

message 2657: by [deleted user] (new)

LOL Lee! I ran across that group last week. Didn't even go there. Probably a legit group of some type but the name does spook me.

message 2658: by Lee (new)

Lee (leeshirk) | 203 comments Yes, I was scared to click on it and go look. Not that I am afraid of vaginas, oh I am just going to shut up because ya just can't win with this conversation.

12:53 and Wow I step away for 10 minutes to read and everyone is talking about vaginas. And who would name a group that unless that is really what it is about. Things that make ya go hmm?

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments In my defense I wasn't talking about it, just laughing and getting funny looks at work. :-)

Thank you for the laughs, good way to start a long shift at work.

1:00PM and I'm at work, really hungry and wishing I would have eaten before I left.

Same Bat Time? Same Bat Channel? I will look forward to awkwardly funny humor. That is some of my favorite type of humor.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hey, Terri, sorry to hear about the nightmares. The ones I hate the most are the ones where you keep waking up, only to realize you're still in the dream... O.O

Kathryn, sorry to hear that. It's horrible when you end up with a job that you really dislike. I've had a couple that I really enjoyed, and that makes it even harder when you end up in a bad one. Any chances of a transfer or finding something else? (Yeah, I know, the economy is in the toilet and we have to be happy with what we can find... *sigh*)

2:13 p.m. EST I crashed around 6 this morning and am just SO TIRED and want to go back to sleep, but I need to send my husband off to work. I'll probably go back to bed once I've done that and had a snack. I'm reading a new urban fantasy I received from Amazon Vine in January and have just started, but it looks good so far. Set in London, so that should be interesting. I've only just started, so haven't run into the fantasy elements; that should happen soon. Erasmus is sitting on my calves and managing to sit just so, so that the bones of his butt are hitting the bones of my calves. *ouch* Okay, he's adjusted himself. Cats are amazing at doing things like that ... LOL

2:38PM Just finished a book and I gotta say Wow it was not what I thought it would be. Check it out guys. The coming of dark. New Author and I believe this is only his 2nd book. I gotta say I was impressed with how well it flowed. So now gonna look for another book!

message 2669: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Ooh, that does look good, Janie! I've added it to my wishlist. I just learned that Scott has released Clean and Floss, so You can grab a copy at Amazon for $2.99!

3:51 p.m. EST Just finished clearing out e-mail but two new e-mails JUST arrived!! Gah! Heh. Anyway, hubby is off to work but I'm awake now, so I guess I'll grab a Coke and read for awhile. London's calling!

message 2670: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 4:05 PM. The power went out in our building, and I got stuck in the elevator at one point. So, I got to come home early, just to come home early and work. LOL. Anyways, I feel a bit better now I am home with my kitties and my sweet husband will be home soon, hopefully.

Thanks everyone. You all put a smile on my face today. :)

Katy-I know, right?! I keep telling myself I should just be happy I have a job when a lot of people don't. However, it is getting tiring to tell myself that all of the time, but also, it is getting tiring to try to believe it every time I tell it to myself. I'm going to start looking for another job very soon.

message 2671: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Kathryn, I know exactly how you feel. Everyday it gets harder to say "at least I have a job" when you hate it that much it doesn't seem like much of a positive. Good luck with your job hunt. Mine has not gone well at all. At least you are in the comfort of your own home and your husband will be home soon.

My wife always makes me feel better when I'm frustrated at my job. She has a calming affect. Enjoy the rest of your evening at least.

5:33 PM and lunch break is over, slow day so far and I'm fine with it staying that way. 9PM can't come fast enough. Ill be here checking in all evening.

message 2672: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Kathryn, the last job I had before I stopped working and filed for disability was a pretty bad one - telephone sales - but at least it was inbound. But while I was actually there for over 2 years, most of the last year and a half I was out for one illness or another, so ... it wasn't ALL bad! LOL

7:27 p.m. EST Just taking a break to add a quote and some info to the review I'm working up for this book I'm reading. I work on them as I read in a word document so I remember all the little details I wanted to mention, and then if there's a problem, I always have a backup copy of the review. Anyway, Erasmus is sitting on my lap grooming, Tiger is in the kitchen sitting on the computer desk and looking out the window, and I'm not sure where Fluff is. He's usually either on the back of the couch in the living room, in front of the window, or in the 2nd room sleeping in a box of books that fell over and lost it's lid. It was too chilly to go sit out in the sun today, and it supposed to stay that way for as far out as the weather map shows. Dang it!! *sigh* It's usually warmer this time of year, and not usually bouncing back and forth quite so much. Well, soon it'll be so hot we'll all be wishing it were chilly again I'm sure; this IS Georgia!

8:56PM Had a great work out! Now gonna sit down and get some reading done. Reading A Maiden's Grave, by Jeffrey Deaver. This will be a first for me.

Kathryn I would have freaked out being stuck in the elevator!

I loved A Maiden's Grave, but really I have loved all of Deaver's work. This was made into a movie with James Garner, and it is called Dead Silence. It is worth watching if you can find some place the rents it. I hope you enjoy it.

9:00PM and I am almost ready to go. Shift is over, but can't leave because of inconsiderate customres who feel they have to have something 5 min before close and then they just take their time. I'm so ready to go home.

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments 2.04pm and the day is passing soooooo slooooowly :/ We've had hot weather the last few days but today has a real wintery feel about it - dark clouds, windy and raining on and off... perfect weather for curling up on the couch with my book, pity I have to work. Hurry up 5pm!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 12:01 a.m. EST and I just spent a really aggravating half-hour talking to a rep at my bank through LiveChat to try to figure out why they're holding our deposit for another WEEK AND A HALF, leaving us with NOTHING, ZIP, ZERO, NADA, NO MONEY AT ALL until the END OF THE FREAKIN' MONTH. ARGH!!! The rep could only keep saying "I'm trying to help you" but then just repeat the same crap I ALREADY KNEW over and over like it was some sort of worthwhile explanation and I should stay there and listen to it AGAIN. *headdesk* No, that's not enough...

WHY?????? ARGH!!! I looked at the reasons: deposit over $5k? No. Check already been returned? No. The ONLY reason that could POSSIBLY be relevant was "you have repeatedly overdrawn your account in the last six months" but it seems to me that a single episode is not "repeatedly". Am I completely out of line for being really, REALLY angry about this? The rep said, "well, sometimes we like to collect the funds first if the checks are suspicious" or something, but this was my husband's PAYCHECK and a check from his mom, both sources from which we receive checks REGULARLY... as in AT LEAST MONTHLY with no problems at all!

GGAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! Somebody get me a bottle of vodka...

message 2679: by Shell (new)

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments You poor thing Katy, that really sucks. I can see why you're upset, that seems really unfair :(

message 2680: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments What really pisses me off is I'll have to actually go into the bank tomorrow to talk to someone, since this rep was so spectacularly unhelpful, which means I'll have to be up at a time that I'm not normally, and I couldn't sleep tonight, and now I won't be able to because I'm so angry. GAH! If we had some sort of holdback, some funds, that would make a difference, but as it is, I have about $30 in my PayPal account and that's IT. *sigh*

message 2684: by [deleted user] (new)

It is 12:55 a.m. and I went grocery shopping after work. Gonna read for an hour or so. Katy it is my experience that banks will generally find one way or another to screw you. So sorry this has happened to you.

message 2685: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 1:37 a.m. EST Just finished watching a Kevin Smith/Jason Mewes show from when they visited Sydney, which was just what I needed. Now once I've cleared out the e-mail, I'll be ready to read.

For a year or so, we worked completely with cash, didn't have a bank account, but it's incredibly inconvenient to do that. Our landlord "forgot" we had paid a month's rent in cash and tried to charge us again, for instance, and the cost of postage is now so high I prefer paying my bills on-line, which is easiest done through a bank account. *sigh* We'll see what happens tomorrow when I go in to talk to them, see if they'll release the funds.

message 2686: by [deleted user] (new)

2:05amEST. Wide awake and looking for something to do. Only have 3 books in my stack so hoping they'll last the day. May need hub to do library run for me on his way home tonight. Have the freakin hiccups. Katy, sincerely hope things start to look up for you! Not much planned for today. Probably will need nap later. Happy Thursday all, and Happy Spring! (Even though it's only 19 degrees right now and I'm freezing cuddled up under my quilt.) Time for hot coffee!

7:26AM Got the kiddo off to school about 40 min ago. Hub is home today and he is making us breakfast. Then we need to make a run into town for my script and then a jaunt over to the mall for a used book sale put on by BookCents. Looking forward to that. Can't really spend the money, but maybe a couple of books we will see what they are selling them for. Have a good day everyone!

message 2691: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Sounds like a good day, Janie.

12:41 p.m. EST Decided to just call rather than waste the gas to drive, since Goddess knows when we'll have money to put gas in the car again. These bastards... I e-mailed them and they replied the SAME WAY, just reiterating the hold is in place and it could be blah blah blah but not at all offering to take it off, so I told them if they didn't remove the hold, they were in for a huge, blistering round of bad publicity and to expect to lose a lot of business. Including ours. This has so pissed me off, I plan to find a new bank as soon as we can. Meanwhile, we have NOTHING for another EIGHT DAYS NOTHING. Dmitry can borrow off his next check, but March rent hasn't been paid, and when he does that it just makes things worse. I have bills I need to pay, but I CAN'T because they're literally STEALING OUR MONEY RIGHT NOW. GAH!! *pulls hair*

Anyway, I tried to just sleep, but woke up with my head pounding, so finally gave up. I'm just charging Dmitry's phone so I can call them once I start working to wake him up.

message 2692: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I'm sorry things are so bad for you Kathy, I really hope something can be done to fix your situation soon. That has to be miserable.

12:19PM and I'm relaxing on the couch, enjoying my day off of work. Aside from making chili for dinner tonight this is my do nothing day. Little man is in for a nap and my wife and I will get caught up on some recorded TV.

I know I'm a book addict when I went to visit my library's web page and I got super excited about all the new changes they made to the site. I just spent a half hour browsing the library and reserving books I have no time to read. Oh well, I'll pick them up and hope to fit them in where I can.

message 2696: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 2:22 pm EST On hold with BoA while they confirm the checks are good to put them into the account. Why is it that any business can run your check through a little machine and tell immediately if there are funds in your account, but you put a check into the bank and they claim they need TWO WEEKS to confirm the check is good? It's all by electronic transfer; it's not like the checks are from freakin' Nigeria or something. Geez... It's just an attempt by the banks to hold on to the money for some interest.

message 2697: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments So sorry Katy, darn auto correct gets me again. The down side to commenting on the iPad is I tend to not proof read my stuff for auto correct mistakes. Well I hope all works out for you. I can't imagine the panic attack you must be going through. Good luck with all of that and hopefully it will all work out soon.

message 2698: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments BWAH! Yeah, it's cool Chris; I just like to give people a hard time. I yelled at the customer service rep, which managed to have me transferred to the manager that much more quickly (I used to do this, so I know how to skip steps) and then I made grouchy noises at her and complained and carried on until they dropped the hold. So, while we don't have enough to actually pay all our bills, at least we can make token payments and keep things on. Now if we can just find a way to pay this month's rent... *sigh* Heh.

2:49 p.m. EST I'm ready to take another nap, damnit... Guess I'll read instead.

message 2700: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Holly my little one hate the vacuum cleaner also. My wife vacuumed all the time when she was pregnant with him in hopes it didn't scare him but that was bogus. We've even tried to get him to help vacuum but that's still a no go and he is 3. Maybe he is so clever he has figured out a way to get out of ever vacuuming in the future. I wonder.

Katy, still, good luck with everything. I'm glad you got something worked out. I hope you can get your nap.

2:34PM and my wife and I have been cleaning up a storm. Skipped catching up on TV and we have just been cleaning. I was cooking and putting the chili together so it can simmer in the crock pot while cleaning the kitchen, and my wife was cleaning our living room don't to the last speck of dust. Busy do nothing day so far.
