9:25AM Had a good rest but dang my shoulder and neck has been hurting. I think maybe my work out either strained muscle or I just over worked it. My yoga last night helped loosen things so I don't know.

Terri hope your mouth feels better soon. Kathy hope things work out for you. Been in that boat a time or two.

Christine wrote: "What kind of books does Anna Karenina write?"

Christine, Anna Karenina is a novel written by Leo Tolstoy. It has the famous opening line "Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way." Some people (me included) think it's better that War and Peace.

Katy, I'm having the same problem with my chronic pain meds. What is it about CHRONIC illness that the bureaucracy just doesn't get?? It's so frustrating. I'm an RN and I find the ignorance even among the "professionals" to be staggering.

message 2504: by [deleted user] (new)

You know what they say about personal opinions but here is my thoughts - why don't they spend more time and energy focusing on the meth and heroin epidemic that is sweeping our nation instead of people who legitimately need pain meds for chronic conditions? Anyway, I have a couple of hours to read before work and I hope to finish one of my books today. Have a fantastic day everyone!

message 2505: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Christine, that is the title of the book. :-) It's classical Russian literature.

3:24 p.m. EST Again crawled out of bed very reluctantly, but enjoyed a bit of a sit out in the sun once I managed it. Lovely and warm today, which felt great, but I couldn't stay out long to avoid burning. This book is frustrating me so very, very much, because the bad guys just keep coming and coming and it is so LONG and it just never STOPS! I swear I'm screaming every other page! LOL But it's a good book, just ... frustrating.

message 2506: by Victor (new)

Victor Christine-Anna Karenina is the title of the book.

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 6:24PM and it has been a really long day. At work tonight and looking forward to 9 when I get to leave. Then grocery store and then home. Having one of those days where I really miss being apart from my family and want to rush home just to give them hugs.

Thankfully I have my book family here to help me pass the time. Almost done with my audio book and can't wait to be rid of it. Should have really stopped and deleted it but I have to finish what I start.

7:31PM Just had dinner we had Chef salads they were yummy! Will be doing my workout soon. Always look forward to them. Then I am gonna read. I did not get any reading done today. We cleaned out the spare so we can paint and get my library finished! YAY! Maybe have it all done by April.

Dan that sounds like fun. I really like St. Patrick's day even though I am not Irish! LOL

message 2511: by Dan (new)

Dan (dan2345) | 304 comments LOL...I am Irish and proud of it. I love St. Patrick's Day too. It's supposed to rain tommorow though, I really hope it doesn't.

10:49 PM. Drinking Airborne mixed with Gatorade and reading 11/22/63.

message 2512: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, Dan, how fun! Be careful, though; things can become a bit rowdy, doncha know... :-)

10:49 p.m. EST My new Kindle is FINALLY on its way! Yay! Can't wait! Now I have a terrible dilemma... I really enjoy music and have a really large music collection; my MP3 player was expandable to 48 gigs, but I still have a good 20 gigs I couldn't fit on there, and a lot I still need to accumulate. I have enough left of my gift certificate to pick up a high-capacity Cowon, which are supposedly some of the best MP3 players, sound-quality-wise, on the market, but ... it wouldn't leave me much more. So I can't decide if I should do that, or fritter it away on little things like I normally do... *sigh*

Also, I'm going crazy with this book, where the bad guy just will not. Stop. COMING! GAH! I hate that... Heh

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 11:47 p.m. EST Just finished with my e-mail. Sadly I have no caffeine *boo* Well, I'm off to finish this book, I guess. Caffeineless.... *sigh*

3:59am EST. Just got up and the pain is gone, as long as I don't try to eat anything! Progress!! Not having my mouth hurt just improves my whole outlook on life. Great news about your Kindle, Katy. I'm still considering getting one, but I'm trying to talk my husband into getting himself a guitar first. (He works so hard and never does anything for himself. He had to sell his guitar a few years ago for the $$. He's a real musician at heart. He was in a rock & roll band when we met--I was such a groupie! He used to let me carry some of his guitars and I thought it was so cool.) Have fun at the parade, Dan. Hope all my GR friends have a great weekend! (New library is too cool, Janie!)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 4:10 a.m. EST Just finished with my book, and it's time for another look at Clean and Floss before Scott finalizes and publishes it. I will hopefully still have time to read the last book in this series before the weekend ends. I have another series to read next week, three books by Friday, which should be fairly doable. Looks like just one freebie on my wishlist today, so off to grab it!

message 2517: by [deleted user] (new)

Sorry you can't sleep, Cindy. I know what a drag that can be. Have you got something good to read?

message 2518: by [deleted user] (new)

Yep, I got bored with An Abundance of Katherines so I went back to my Harry Potter book for now Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Hope I can get to sleep soon because I do have somewhere to go in about seven hours.

message 2519: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Good news, BTW, Terri, and Cindy, sorry to hear that. I know how annoying it can be!

4:14 a.m. EST Forgot to mention; my husband had a call yesterday from the assistant manager of the DQ where he works, who is the brother of the owner, and in fact, a lot of the family works there. Anyway, their father, who lives in India, just died, so they'll all be heading over for the funeral, which leaves Dmitry picking up the slack. He'll be working doubles at least the next two days until he can find some other people to help pick things up a bit, but most other people who work there are part-timers, and the few other people who could help may or may not be willing to, as they're not as dedicated to working there. *shrug* So, I won't be seeing much of him. Hard time for the Momin clan, I guess; best wishes to them.

message 2520: by [deleted user] (new)

Good luck getting to sleep, Cindy. When I have somewhere to go I always count down the hours and think "oh no, I only have x more hours to get to sleep" and that just makes it worse! Sending restful thoughts your way!

I had to chuckle at this comment Terri because I do the same thing. The good thing is that I'm off work till Monday, so I will get some sleep tomorrow night if nothing else.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 8:55 am. Sitting in bed on GR. Sicker than I have ever been in a while. Stuffy, runny nose, lots of drainage, painful ears, nasty cough, and my face feels like it is going to explode from all of the pressure. I know I should go to the doctor, but, I don't want to. It's not that I don't like my doctor, because I really do like him a lot. I jut don't like going to the doctor. I am sure you can all sympathize. I guess if I don't start improving by Monday I will go in. Mark has to get his haircut today, but I am not sure what else we are doing. Hope everyone has a great Saturday. :)

9:06AM and I am at work. Got to work the weekend, but I at least have Monday off. Looking forward to a much needed day off. I also hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Hope you feel better soon Kathryn. I have had that stuff for two weeks now. Not really feeling that bad anymore but still going through a box of tissue a day. I understand how you feel about the doctor thing. I'm sure you don't need anybody to tell you this but please remember to drink plenty of fluids. Feel better soon.

message 2525: by [deleted user] (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Sorry to hear you're sick, Kathryn. Rest as much as you can!

10:52 a.m. EST Just finished the 2nd pass on Clean and Floss, and it looks great! Will definitely let you all know when it's available. Once I've cleared out my e-mail I'll start on King and go sit outside in the sun for awhile. It's a lovely day. Then I should probably sleep awhile... O.O

message 2527: by Dan (new)

Dan (dan2345) | 304 comments Sorry to hear you're sick, Kathryn. I think I might be coming down with something too.

11:15 AM. Getting ready to go to the parade.

message 2528: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Enjoy the parade, Dan! Drink some green beer for me, 'cause Goddess knows I won't be able to. I have a couple Russian brews, but it just ain't the same...

11:20 a.m. EST E-mail cleared, editing done... ready to go sit in the sun. Then I'll probably be ready to pass out, 'cause I was up all night editing. A bit worried about the dog, he keeps yelping. I can't find anything wrong with him, but something is causing him pain. I just brought him in and he's in his crate, so hopefully he'll stay fairly still and be able to rest. When I put him out this afternoon I'll look him over again. He needs a new crate liner, but we don't have the funds right now. Maybe I can use part of my Amazon gift certificate to order one for him... it'll mean forgoing the MP3 player for sure, but ... *shrug* He's an older dog - 8 this year - and needs to be comfortable, y'know.

Will probably not log in again until after I've had a nap, so will talk to you later on!

It's definitely great to have you back on GR, Kathryn. Puppy Charlie is great. He's finished his morning romp and is napping on the couch next to me. He woke me up by jumping on my chest at 1:30am when there was a great crack of thunder--50 pounds of terrified puppy! What fun pet owning is! Give Gizmo and Pepper some extra cuddles today to help you feel better!

12:51PM Wow y'all have been busy today! Gonna be going to daughter's house to kidnap the grand blessing for the weekend! I love that lil guy!

Kathryn I am loving this weather! Oh and I hope you get to feeling better today. Try some honey and cinnamon in some hot tea. The tea is also medicinal and helps soothe the throat. The honey and cinnamon with dry you up and make you feel better!

Terri glad your mouth is feeling somewhat better.

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 1:22PM and I anxious for my lunch break, I'm starving. Weather here is cool and cloudy, we have rain on the way tonight turning into snow with a projected accumulation of 1-3 inches of slushy stuff. I love the snow and the cold, so I am fine with it, I just wish I didn't have to work tomorrow so I could play in the snow with my son if we really get 3 inches.

Terri, so glad you are feeling better, I hope the pain has stayed away still.
