What time is it and what are you doing?

So sorry to hear of your loss, Kyle. We had to put down our beloved collie of 14 years a year ago, and we finally got a new puppy in August. You need time to grieve. *hugs*
12:55pm and checking GR after being off awhile. Just signed our 2013 taxes and put it in the mail--getting a nice refund. (Yay!) Reading a lot today. Doing laundry, plan to cook later which will be fun.
Good luck Dan, and great news Janie!

Catching up with this group and others, was going to try and get some other stuff done but I've run out of time...

Well, I think I'm gonna go chill out for the rest of the night. Going to read 11/22/63...I really gotta get moving on that book. LOL

Oh wow. My condolences to you and the family

This is rough. You did the right thing.

I am trying to finish the rest of Ghost Road Blues which I underestimated. Looking for to reading the remaining installments.
Also, I've been practicing and tweaking my presentation for my promotion into management ( in a management training program).
9:09PM Just checking in guys! Hope everyone had a fantastic day! Gonna hit the book for a bit I think.
Veronica GL on your presentation.

good luck with your presentation veronica!

LOL...I've fallen asleep with my contacts in so many times. Not by choice of course, my optometrist did warn me about falling asleep with them in. Luckily nothing has happened when I have done that.
What are "Gas-permeable" conatacts? I only have two pairs of contact lenses; the regular ones I wear every day, and the hand painted yellow and red theatrical ones that I wear on Halloween.

I spent several years working as an optician, so I learned a thing or two about contact lenses, in addition to what I already knew from my own use. Anyway, while it is not advisable to sleep even in soft lenses unless they are specifically designed for such, having it happen occasionally is not too big of a problem unless you don't clean them well enough. The thing is that a person's cornea doesn't have any blood vessels directly running into it, and it absorbs oxygen straight from the air, so if you tend to keep them covered up, they will eventually because oxygen deprived, and that's why they say not to sleep in your contacts.
A fun trick for a night on the town is to find someone who works in an optometrist's or ophthalmologist's office and have them pick up some of the dye that they use to test the fit on gas-permeable or hard contact lenses and dye regular contacts with it. They will then glow under black lights, but will not harm your eyes (although your vision may have a weird tint to it until you become accustomed to it). My first ex-husband discovered that after I helped him become an optician, too. We used to do this when we went out to comedy clubs... really amusing.
Anyway, I'll talk your ear off about optical things just like I will about cats or rats or books, so I best sign off now... I think it's time for a nap!
3:12 a.m. EST gonna take a nap, I think.

9:21AM Have to do some serious reading today. I am just having a hard time with Nightmares & Dreamscapes is all. Checking out GR and checkin in with y'all. This afternoon gonna go visit daughter and grandbaby.

Jordan, good news! Tell us what you bring home!
10:43 a.m. EST Just woke up about 20 minutes ago, feeling much better. But there is this horrible smell I keep smelling--this has happened before. I'm wondering if it is a hallucination, 'cause my husband can never smell it, but it makes me feel really sick to my stomach. It's sort of like a ashtray of cigarette butts caught fire, and sort of like coconut. It's horrible... :*{

Katy, I don't think they make them anymore because I have astigmatism too and the gave me toric lenses. That's a lot of info you've go there. I suppose I'll have to be more careful from now on. That's very interesting about the dye. If I want funny colored eyes though I have my Halloween contacts...LOL.
12:36pm here. Going to go take a shower and then clean my room. I heard that there is a Walking Dead marathon on AMC today, so I'll probably be watching that while I am cleaning.

2:27 p.m. EST just returned from the Outback, where I had the best rib-eye steak I've had in absolute ages! Wish I could have eaten the whole thing, but I haven't been eating much lately so I could only manage about 2/3 of it. Hubby ate the rest, along with two salads and two bowls of their really yummy French Onion soup. He's now sitting here like a python on a rock digesting... :-)

Kathryn, if you haven't read any of his stuff, anything by Randy Attwood is awesome. My favorites are Rabbletown: Life in These United Christian States of Holy America and Crazy About You. Glad your internet is back up! I'd hate having it down so long--it's my only connection to the outside!

Sounds like a great day Chris! Hope you're feeling more like yourself again soon :)

I hope things improve for me and I get back to myself soon as well. Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate them.

2:40 a.m. EST Woke up from a nap when hubby returned from his Super Bowl party about a half hour ago. Just clearing out e-mail before going back to sleep... I have two novellas to edit this week, so it'll be busy!
It's 2:45am and I'm up all night again. News on in the background, I'm glad I have GR to help pass the time. Puppy is curled up asleep next to me. Enjoyed the Super Bowl even though I didn't have a team in the game. Finished my book about an hour ago, it was really good. Can't decide what to read next. Chris, I hope you're feeling more yourself soon. A 3 year-old and snow--sounds wonderful! I often felt my children helped center me when times were tough. Though now we're having so many problems with my adult son, it's a huge source of stress and unhappiness for me. It's hard to know where to turn or what to do...
Hope you all have a great day!

2:10pm Again we have to run out for more errands. Seems about the norm these days. Got my laundry done and even read a bit.
Chris glad to see you back! Sounds like to had a great time with your family, that always does the trick to head you in the right direction towards recooperation from whatever is ailing us..
Terri sorry you have another rough night, but yay for GR to always be there if we need it along with a companion and a good book.
Katy that picture is awesome. Can tell the kitty loves you! Hehe. Our Cat Bandit has been laying all over us lately. He has always been a VERY social cat! Will never have another like him thats for sure.
Have a great day today my friends. Will check back in again soon.

3:22 p.m. EST just taking a bit of a break from editing to clear out the e-mail that accumulated, grab the mail outside (part of the reason Tiger abandoned me), and eat some carrots. Nothing much else around here to eat... :-) Back to editing soon!

Thanks for the kind words from everyone. I have not been myself lately and I am glad I have good friends here who are supportive. Now if I could only get out of this reading funk and back to it.

4:15 p.m. EST Listening to the author's albums (he's also a rock singer) while editing, so had paused to send him a note bout how much I'm enjoying the music, and clearing out accumulated e-mail again! it's a never ending task...
