Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 345 comments 8:55 p.m relaxing after a busy day of grocery shopping and house cleaning. Got a re-run of Sherlock on, and oddly the kid is like, glued to it intently. No idea what's up with that, usually if it's not animated he could care less. I'm not complaining though, he's being nice and quiet so I can get my catching up with GR done. Tore through book 2 of the Hunger Games today as well, and already started book 3. Great for my reading, not so great for the reviewing, ha! I skipped em for #1 and #2 because I just had to keep reading! Guess I'll go back to them after I finish. Bought the first movie today at the store too, lol. Will probably watch it here in a little while, though I was also thinking of waiting to watch it until I finish reading the last book. So, I dunno, we'll see.

9:06 p.m. and I don't have to work tomorrow, BUT I am working Sunday. Want to sit up really late and catch up on some reading but I haven't had but three hours total sleep in the last two days. I don't feel tired right now. Guess we'll just have to see if I can concentrate enough to read. Really need to make some progress on GOT. Hope everyone had a wonderful day.

message 11603: by [deleted user] (new)

OK, I'm done. Going on a 55 hour marathon now with a grand total of three hours sleep. I'm passing out and waking up whenever I wake up. Goodnight everyone.

9:45AM Had a bit of a good time last night. Went out to good will, bought a ton of books, ate at Whataburger, came home and had some drinks. Danced, sang, and just being silly. Love time with my family. Today I will finish my book. Plan on taking a walk today as well.

Pierre 14:47 EST Just came out of the shower after a great day outside gardening. Hard work that is incredibly good for the soul! :-)

My friends memorial was hard today, but I hope he saw how many people were there to remember him.
I've been reading since I got home. Managing an average 100 pages a day at the moment, sometimes more - not a bad thing when I have an almost 2 year old who demands a lot of my attention. Thankfully he's learnt that when Mummy is reading we leave the book alone :)
Instead he picks up one of his and sits next to me on the sofa and turns the pages, poking it pointing at things, saying the words he knows, such as "ball" - which is always followed by "tic it" (kick it) or "tac!" (catch) :D x

Holly | 1184 comments 5:06 P.M. Relaxing today. Took a very long walk yesterday. My feet are feeling a bit better today but the sun burn I got is still bothering me. I did get some books yesterday, so the trip was good on that part. :-)

message 11612: by [deleted user] (new)

I think aloe helps with sunburns Holly but double check to be sure.

message 11613: by Sam (new)

Sam Arnold (samharnold) Best thing I found for sunburn is placing sliced tomatoes on it. Sounds mad but really works.

message 11614: by Holly (new)

Holly one Summer I got a bad sunburn from the neck down to the end of my back, I was in so much pain for about a week, I felt like I'd been paralyzed, but from that day on I learned a lesson, always put on Sun Block.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:10 AM. GOOD MORNING, GR!!!! Sorry, I didn't post in here yesterday. Friday evening something unexpected came up, so it kind of changed our weekend plans. Mark bought the wood for my bookcases/shelves he is going to install in one of our extra bedrooms! I am so excited! He seems excited to work on them. I've got to get ready to go to my cousin's house. She is having us over for a cookout, and we will be there for a few hours. I am looking forward to it. I am also looking forward to getting back into my book. It is really good so far. :)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 345 comments 10:52 p.m waiting for kiddo to go to sleep. Put him in bed at a little after 10, but he's in there playing with his stuffed animals. One of his monkeys was in need of fixing, missing an arm, and he was in there pulling the stuffing out and tossing it on the floor. I'm like... really?! Sigh. Must've been the three popsicles he got away with today, lol. Wound him up. I need to work on some review writing before I can start a new book, so to procrastinate, I've been catching up on newspapers.

We ended up staying much longer than we planned, but it was worth it. Goodnight, Gr...

Hey Guys :)
I've just listened to disc 4 of the audiobook of Silverthorn and will be heading offline momentarily (after checking GR, obviously!) to continue with Eldest while my almost 2 year old keeps sitting in the cupboard hiding, lol. Him and the OH are watching Pokemon on TV, but the OH is paying more attention haha.
Lazy day today, so should get plenty of reading done. Aiming for at least another 100 pages of Eldest :)

8:01AM A pretty quiet morning here, overcast, and we need the rain pretty badly. Kay's last week of school, and not even though whole week, she is out on Wednesday. She was exempt from exams for most classes except for Geometry and History. had she been exempt from all she would have been done with school on this last Friday. Doing laundry right now, but I plan of reading most of today. Good morning GR!

✨Susan✨ (suswelch) | 904 comments Good morning Bookworm Buddies, so much is going on right now it's been hard to check in. My youngest is Graduating, hubbies family is coming to stay for a week and getting packed to leave for Cancun right after family leaves. Yikes, so much to do. My son helped me plant 8 flats of flowers and 10 bushes yesterday. Needless to say my body and hands are paying the price but it looks beautiful. Landscapers are hard workers. Reading His Majesty's Dragon His Majesty's Dragon right now and it's pretty good.

Hope all have a great reading week and congrats to all that are graduating.

Katy, I'm really interested in the natural healing things you are using. I took a supplement last night to help me sleep--it has stuff like melatonin, valerian, and I forget what else. I slept great last night, but you have to take this supplement for a while till you can see the effect. I've also been drinking some "Sleepytime" tea. Hope you're having a good day, Katy.

Kathryn--new bookshelves--awesome! Larry has promised to make me some to go in my son's old room. We are making it into a music and reading room.

Susan, I'd love to see your garden!

12:49pm EDT. It's cloudy and overcast today, we got a lot of rain during the night. I just got home from taking Charlie on our 2nd walk today. Doing laundry, cooked off some bacon because hub will be late tonight so we're just having turkey club sandwiches for dinner. We went to the cemetery again yesterday, the stone is engraved and the fountain is running. It was very peaceful and beautiful. My plan for the afternoon is read read read! Happy Monday all my GR friends!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 3:27 PM. Good afternoon, GR! I am sitting down to read after cleaning up the kitchen and getting chicken marinating for dinner tonight. I have bad a busy morning, and am glad to be able to kind of relax.

message 11627: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Terri, the supplement may have things like scullcap or hops. You can take melatonin by itself for insomnia - up to 10 mg about a half hour before you sleep. Mostly I'm just taking vitamins, plus the black cumin seed oil caplets I started a couple days ago.

4:49 p.m. EDT Didn't check in for a couple days, just haven't felt social. Plus reading a lot and not wanting to stop reading to do anything else, even write reviews! But I need to write the reviews, so I finally broke down and logged in... I have sores in my lower lip that hurt like mad; they're terribly distracting. It's from the new chemo med, the one side effect that is really annoying.

Lucy, so sorry to hear about your friend. *hugs*

5:51 p.m. and I have spent the last three days reading GOT continuously except for babysitting. I have finished it and still didn't really get into it. It was almost torture to read an 800 page book and still not love it at the end. It was OK, but I don't feel like continuing with the series. Too many people, kingdoms, etc. to follow. Plan to catch up on some other books now.

Eating prawn crackers and checking GR before I go to bed. Read a hefty 150 pages of Eldest today, no mean feat with my almost two year old wanting my attention hehe :) Less than 300 pages left to finish it now. :)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 1:35 PM. Good afternoon, GR! I realized after I posted earlier I need to do lots of laundry. I've already washed about three loads, (well, the third one is in the washer, lol), and I have been reading between loads. I need to get the dishes done soon, as well. I had lunch, and I'm going to get back to reading and keep up the laundry. :)

5:17 p.m. and I finally finished GOT yesterday. It didn't really appeal to me that much and that kinda bummed me out some since the reviews are fantastic. Just too much to keep up with. Kinda felt like I was reading a college level history book of sorts. I plan to cook dinner, take a shower, and read for at least a couple hours tonight. I need coffee bad! Been cutting back on my caffeine intake, but I might have to break down and fix some coffee.

Regular black tea steeped actually soothes sunburn as well.
