Thank you folks! Support from friends is what keeps me going. Sorry, I fell asleep and didn't log out. At least I went to sleep for a couple of hours. Feel a little better now.

7;07 p.m. and I am going to freeze some meat from the fridge before it goes bad and throw some ribs in the slow cooker overnight. Plan to read for a while and pick up a bit around the house.

3:50 p.m. and I just finished The Book Thief by Markus Zusak . Probably the best book I've ever read. Now I'm taking a break and do a bit of cleaning.

message 11410: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Cindy, beef ribs? I was just bemoaning to my husband yesterday the lack of a place to find beef ribs around here. Beef ribs are some of my favorite things - my mom used to make them for me on special events as a treat - but restaurants tend to only serve pork ribs. If you're cooking beef ribs, I'll be right over... *laugh* (I wish!)

3:50 p.m. EDT I fell asleep while reading last night. I hope I remember enough about the book so I don't have to go back and re-read it all! My eyes don't want to focus, even with my glasses, so reading is a bit tricky as a result. Much to my annoyance, I've developed sores in my mouth (a common side effect of the CPT 11) and as a result chewing things is painful, hot foods are painful, cold foods are painful... it's basically a pain to try to eat much of anything. Even drinking stings a bit when it's Gatorade or what have you. And since I have to drink two to three quarts of fluid, and drinking that much straight water would mess up my electrolytes, I'm mostly drinking Gatorade and some juice.

Kathryn, at least you remembered that a) you wanted to tell me something and b) I was the person to whom you wished to say something. It's more than I usually remember when I forget... umm... you know what I mean... LOL

No, they were pork ribs. I like both but the other half prefers the beef. He won't be home yet for a couple of days so I treated myself.

message 11414: by Alondra (new)

Alondra Miller 5:42 p.m. Just got back from watching, Godzilla. Do NOT watch this movie. It was horrid. We saw Godzilla for maybe 15 minutes of the 2.5 hour movie, and that is NOT a spoiler....or maybe it is; but would you really want to pay $10 or more and only see the main character for a few mintues?? I want the 2.5 hours back of my life...

message 11415: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) hey alondra the matthew Broderick one was better cuz Godzilla was actually in it.

Corey | 1411 comments 8:11 p.m. Had a busy day today, me and my mom got my Grandmother moved into her new apartment, she seems to like it so far, it's probably gonna take a while for her to get used to it. We still have a lot of unpacking to do but so far we got her bed all set up and we're gonna do some more unpacking tomorrow, she now lives just a few houses down from where I live. Right now I'm just relaxing and watching tv and in about an hour I'm probably gonna get some reading done.

I was planning to take my grandson but guess we will take Amber's suggestion and rent the Matthew Broderick one. Hey more money for snacks I guess. LOL

@Corey Good to hear that your Grandmother likes the new place. When she realizes what living so much closer means she will like it more. :-)

9:29 am I'm at my parents house and they have just gotten up, (I have been up since 6, reading Z 2135). Going to get breakfast then head out to my brother's house for a welcome home cook out. It should be fun - I haven't seen some of the guests since I moved to Alaska, (about 10 years ago). Lot's of catching up today. Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday!!

9:49AM Another beautiful morning here in Texas. My sweet hub has made me breakfast and coffee and I have been reading. I plan on taking most of the day for just that! May seems to have just been a busy month for me, so I am behind on reading.

Alondra sorry you did not enjoy Godzilla! I always like Godzilla on TV. My daughter was planning to go see that, I might have to tell her to hold off on that!

You should rent some of the old, badly dubbed Japanese Gojira movies. THOSE are classic! :-)

2:56 p.m. EDT I am just sleeping like crazy lately. I slept for almost 7 hours straight this morning - I haven't slept that long in one go for ages! I'm not sure why I'm sleeping so much, since I don't really feel bad, but I guess my body needs the rest. Been having crazy weird dreams, that's for sure! I have three episodes of Agents of SHIELD to watch, so I really need to do that today and then finish this book I'm reading. It's again cool and rainy in Georgia, but starting tomorrow it's supposed to start warming up and the sun will start peeking through the clouds. It's supposed to hit into the 90s by the end of the week, but then more storms and clouds moving in and cooling things down a bit. I guess we'll see. It'll be nice to warm up; this chilly weather sets off my fibromyalgis symptoms My brother-in-law just graduated from college. Time flies! He was only 12 (and just barely that) when I met Dmitry... O.O Hope everyone is doing well today. My thoughts turn to you, Terri - hoping you're doing okay. And Cindy also - my thoughts are with you.

Thanks, Katy. I had a rough couple days in which I couldn't sleep for over 48 hours, but I finally slept last night and I feel pretty good today. It's been a beautiful spring day. Tomorrow it will be 6 weeks since I found my son. Time seems to both drag and fly by at the same time. I'm learning it's a full time job to process grief.

Your body must need the rest, Katy. It's good that you can sleep. The mouth pain must be really awful. Keep at it with the fluids. I still think about you often and send you positive vibes and hugs every day.

7:14 p.m. I had a bad craving for some sweet tea and have worked so hard on the house this last week that I was too lazy to fix it, so I walked next door to the store. I am waiting on Jeff to get home and I'm excited because I did miss him although it did give me a nice break and I got a lot of reading done. Tired so I am just gonna read now.

9:55PM I have been able to read quite a bit today. Had stuffed peppers for dinner then took a walk. Then once I got home I did a leg work out. So I had all kinda of energy today. Now I am reading. I think I am starting to get burned out on the Lincoln Rhyme books. This one is pretty good though. I may have to take a break from them for awhile.

message 11435: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:58 AM. Good morning, GR! What a really nice weekend. My dad came over Saturday night, and we did all kinds of stuff: dinner, book stores, went to look for a few shirts for my dad, then we came home and we watched an old black and white 1950's sci-fi movie. I stayed up and read a little, then went to sleep. Sunday we got up and while I did laundry and cleaned up around the house, Mark and my dad put our surprise to my dad on his truck. We bought him steps for his new truck. He was surprised and really likes them. I had a REALLY hard time getting in his truck before, and now I don't. Then, Dad and I went to a sporting goods store, then to see my grandpa. We visited him for a while, brought him the bullets he wanted for his gun, and then Dad and I went to the cemetery. It was the first time he has been out there since Grandma's funeral because he has been working in Kansas for the last several weeks. After the visit, we went to the grocery store and pick up stuff for grilling burgers, watermelon, and a pie. After we ate, Dad went home. It was such a beautiful night, Mark and I sat on the back deck for a long while and talked about ideas for the backyard and the house in general. Today I have to finish laundry, dishes, clean our bathroom, and all those kinds of things. It was a great weekend, and I was happy my dad came over and stayed. He seemed like he had a really good time. Anyways, happy Monday, everyone! :)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments *hugs* Terri. Yeah, the mouth pain is a real bother; I can barely open my mouth to take in food or brush my teeth or even take my inhaler. Plus the same thing is, I think, irritating my stoma, which has been bleeding since yesterday. Ugh. Still better than the hand and feet cramps and pins and needles and cold sensitivity. :-)

2:48 p.m. EDT Didn't sleep much this morning; I guess my body is caught up. I finished Thieftaker then read Saga, Volume 1 and started Fight Club . I have A Cabinet of Roman Curiosities: Strange Tales and Surprising Facts from the World's Greatest Empire on tap, and then need to read Love Me , which I've been wanting to read badly for close to two years and keep being distracted by other things... I have so many books I want to read right now that I don't know what to do with myself... *laugh* So, better finish up my e-mail and go back to reading!

Alissa Patrick (apatrick12211) 2:57pm EST. Counting down the minutes until 4, so then I can go pick up my daughter from the sitters. She's having an "okay" day today, a bit crabby. Im thinking that she's teething. She's almost 10 months old and we're still waiting for her first tooth!

I've decided to take a break from my online class that I'm taking, and going to focusin on reading for pleasure. I'm still reading The Goldfinch on my tablet but am only at 67% and it's due back to the libary in two days, so I think i'll have to let it go and put my name back on the request list- GAH haha

I'm also reading a book for my Classics group- One Hundred Years of Solitude

message 11441: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:18 PM. Good late evening, GR! What a busy day around the home: finishing laundry, folding and putting laundry away, cleaned our bathroom, washed dishes, swept the house, organized my closet quite a bit, then worked out. While I was working out, Mark came home and surprised me with some beautiful dark pink snapdragons. I got cleaned up, messed with my plants a bit, and cooked tacos for dinner. I made mine a taco salad, though, since I'm a veggie person. After dinner I cleaned up the kitchen, and I had to sit down. From being on my feet most of the day, my sciatica was really hurting my back and left leg. We watched the news, and now we are in bed. Gizmo girl is already curled up on me ready for snuggle time. :) Anyways, Mark is already asleep, so I think I will read for a little bit. I read some while I ate lunch, but obviously not enough for the day. :) Goodnight, Gr! :)

So I am gonna finish The Empty Chair today and start on a review book. Trying to decide what I want for breakfast. Decisions Decisions!

message 11450: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments April, rock on! \m/(>.<)\m/ I like heavy metal, too.

4:35 p.m. EDT Hubby had the day off, so I dragged him out of bed about 11 and we went to have some lunch at DiPalma's - pasta. We came back and he went back to sleep and I started going through my e-mail. I've been so lazy about updating my books and reviews, just making notes and then not writing the review for a day or two later... Oh, well, they are eventually up there! Used to be that every time I stopped reading (planned to go to sleep or something), and every time I was up out of bed for the day, and a few times in between I'd be on-line checking things, but lately I just don't have the gumption to do that, so I've only been on-line once a day, sometimes once every couple days. As a result I have over 2000 messages in my social media file... O.o I'm keeping up on private correspondence for the most part, but FB and GR? Nah, WAY behind. I just check whatever I've been interacting on in the past day and everything else has to wait until I feel like going through it. Finally heard back from my doctor; the CT on my chest showed nothing suspicious. She STILL has not clarified what is going on with the tumors from my colon/intestines/uterus/ovaries/abdominal wall, though. It's driving me nuts! I'd really like to know what's going on there. Especially if it's that they aren't there anymore... :-D I'll talk to her again next Tuesday when I go in for my next chemo treatment. Started reading A Cabinet of Roman Curiosities: Strange Tales and Surprising Facts from the World's Greatest Empire , which is a collection of short anecdotes and information bites about Romans. It's pretty fun so far!

I hope everyone is doing well today! Terri, Cindy, keeping you in my thoughts.
