Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:42 AM. Good morning, GR! Well, I don't have much of a voice today, but at least I don't feel any worse. Today we need to go get my baby niece something for Christmas. I also want to go to the bookstore. My dad made it home safely last night, so Christmas will be complete! Thinking of reading for a bit, then I will get ready to go out. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 12:52 p.m. EST Just can NOT sleep. Very annoying as I'm very tired. Fooling around online, reading Sluggy Freelance.

✨Susan✨ (suswelch) | 904 comments Hi all, hope every one has the Christmas Spirit and are enjoying the countdown to the big day. Just finished Spirit of Steamboat. A Longmire Christmas Novella. Great, loved it.

Kathryn, Glad your dad is home safe and hope you are feeling well soon. Hugs.

Janie, I hope you made it safe and sound and are having a ball!

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 2:03PM both kids are napping and my wife is at her mom's baking cookies. I'm trying to get stuff done around the apartment. Christmas has already started for us. Heading to my Wife's family tonight for dinner. This is a long holiday for us. It's exhausting.

Kathryn, glad to hear your Dad is home and you don't feel any worse. I guess that's a plus.

Katy, I hope you can get some rest soon. I hate insomnia.

Just finished decorating sugar cookies with my mom and sixteen year old nephew. It's a tradition

message 8709: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hey, Chris, it's not insomnia, it's pain. I can't find a comfortable position in which to fall asleep.

7:08 p.m. EST speaking of which I managed an hour or so this afternoon. I need to call today to see what I'm eligible for with the AHA, I've been procrastinating and now it's down to the wire...

message 8710: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:55 AM. Relaxing and finishing up Identical before doing some chores. Taking some Mucinex D last night really helped, I think. Feeling quite a bit better, but still not 100%. Kitty girl babies are still in bed...go figure! Getting excited about tomorrow night: going to cook salmon, I think, rice, and veggies or a salad, have my dad over, and have our usual Mark, Dad/Papaw, kitties/grandkitties, and Kathryn Christmas here. We usually watch A Christmas Story, eat, and open our gifts. Can't wait to see my Grandpa on Wednesday. :)

message 8711: by Alondra (new)

Alondra Miller 7:57pm. Today was my Friday at work. Need I say more??

message 8712: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 8:24 p.m. EST Been editing and also called about the AHA thing. While we are 96 percent of poverty level, we are NOT eligible for any subsidies or discounts on health insurance. WTF??? Crikey, if I could afford the durn insurance I'd HAVE it by now... *sigh* Took a sleeping pill this morning and managed about 5 or 6 hours of sleep. Feeling sleepy, might try to take a nap soon. Hubby had to work a double today and left early this morning.

message 8713: by Judith (new)

Judith (jaydit) Jeesh, Katy...i can't believe that you're not eligible for a Subsidy....according to the ACA calculator, even I'm eligible. That sucks!

I found this, today. Don't know if it will help:

http://gma.yahoo.com/obamacare-explai...

****not saying you're an Idiot****

message 8714: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Kobus (rainbowsunset) Katy, that sucks about the insurance. I'm going to be on it either way though; don't know how much it's going to cost yet, but they can't turn me down based on pre-existing conditions like the others have, which is key. :-/

9:01pm EST: Rewatching S1 of GOT for the umpteenth time, reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and dreading having to work on Christmas Eve. Eek!

message 8715: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments It's because I'm in Georgia. Georgia has decided not to expand the Medicaid coverage (and contextually I therefore gather that this is the only subsidy offered), so I'm just screwed. I am eligible to apply for less expensive catastrophic coverage, but that's not what I need. *sigh*

GeneralTHC Katy wrote: "It's because I'm in Georgia. Georgia has decided not to expand the Medicaid coverage (and contextually I therefore gather that this is the only subsidy offered), so I'm just screwed. I am eligible ..."

That's bunk! Texas did the same thing: refused to expand their coverage. And it wasn't going to cost the state a penny. People will end up going to the ER though and that will cost the state.

11:23am EST. Our main Christmas celebration was over the weekend when our younger son was here. It was lovely. Planning a quiet Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my husband, older son, and Charlie the puppy. We have a whole bag of new toys for Charlie, so it will be fun giving that to him tonight. Merry Christmas to all my wonderful GR friends! Hope you all have a safe and happy holiday!

Alondra Miller 11:51am. Just finished cleaning the house after last minute items from grocery store, and now i am chilling before my friends christmas party.

Merry Christmas!

message 8723: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:00 AM. Good Christmas Eve morning! I've been doing some laundry and cleaning up around the house this morning. Trying to get a few things done so I can do a little cooking later for tomorrow, and go to church later. I think I will workout early, too. I don't know how much I will be on GR until tomorrow night, so I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

Oh, I heard from Janie this morning and it sounds like she is having a great time with her family! I miss her posts!

message 8724: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Michelle, I have to think about adding the insurance. If I could afford the costs, I'd already have it. Like Chris says, I usually just end up going to the ER and then filing for charity care. Of course, that doesn't help with my medication. The one the doctor gave me for colitis is $108 for 30 pills, which is enough for about 3 1/2 days (since it's written to take up to 8 a day). And there is no assistance program for it, like my Cymbalta has. Just... grrrrr. I was really counting on having a voucher for the insurance.

12:30 p.m. EST Just up from a nap, about to jump back in to editing.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments So sorry to hear that, Sean. :-( Life is SO short, and too many people take it for granted.

10:25 p.m. EST Had a nap. I'm just so TIRED. *sigh* My cousin's grandmother passed away this morning; she was 91, had apparently been ill for a couple months. Back to editing soon.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 5:36 a.m. EST Happy Xmas to those who celebrate! It's about time for me to take a nap. Hubby informs me we are going for Chinese buffet today. Other than that, it'll pretty much be a day like any other; I'll be editing, maybe listening to some music, and hubby will be playing video games. A bit of a funny: I mentioned I was hungry and Dmitry said, "Me, too; what should we eat?" To which I replied, "Food." He sort of looks at me oddly and says, "What kind?" I reply, "Well, gheesh, so I have to think of everything around here??" *laugh* Yeah, we're both pretty silly people. Keeps things light when they could be dark.

Squire (srboone) | 141 comments Chinese food can do that to you. Of course, overeating in general (which tend to do on holidays)can do that to you also! Good luck!

message 8743: by Alondra (new)

Alondra Miller 11:58am. Reading, playing solitaire, reading and snacking... i would say, 'scratchin' my ass', but i am sure that would offend someone, sooooo.... ;)

message 8744: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:21 AM. Good morning, GR!!!! Alondra, you make me laugh so much!! I hope everyone had a very Merry and happy Christmas! Despite getting my feelings hurt on Christmas Eve, overall, Christmas was really great. My house is a disaster, even though I cleaned it up before Christmas Eve festivities. But, I love that about Christmas. :) Mark had to work today, but that's okay. It gives me some time to listen to music, clean up the house, and just get some things back in order before my boy gets home. He is off of work tomorrow and all weekend, so I'm happy we get some extra time together. I hope everyone has a great after-Christmas day!

message 8745: by ✨Susan✨ (new)

✨Susan✨ (suswelch) | 904 comments Just hanging out. Tired today after lots of activities the last couple of days. Puzzling and eating and eating some more. Argh, too much good food, even my 6 lb. dog is getting fat.

Alondra, you as usual make me lol. Hope you had a great x-mas!

Kathryn, sounds like your time at Uncles was not so fun. Hope some of the sting is lightening. Hugs. Maybe a good funny book may help. Take care

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Squire wrote: "Chinese food can do that to you. Of course, overeating in general (which tend to do on holidays)can do that to you also! Good luck!"

Well, it's certainly not from overeating. I had a few pieces of squid, a little bit of fried rice, and some Jell-O. Which is the first solid food I'd had in several days. I think it was their sweet tea that made me feel icky, or maybe it was just having actual food in my stomach. Anyway, I feel a bit better today, although I didn't want to wake up.

5:59 p.m. EST Yes, I went to bed around 3 this morning and only crawled out about 5 this afternoon. I woke up a few times, including around 2 to send hubby off to work. The last hour was me lying here not wanting to acknowledge I was awake. Anyway, plenty of editing still to do, looks like it'll be running into next week, which will delay next week's MS and create a lovely domino effect. Whee.

7:51PM Hey guys!! Having a great time here with my family in Indiana. I have been going non stop since I got here, but it has been totally worth it. I have a ton of books to share once I get back home. My family Christmas is Saturday, tomorrow I get to see my Aves! I have missed him so much. So I will check back in once I get home. I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Hugs to all! Talk to you soon.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 2:22 a.m. EST So there I was, minding my own business, and suddenly, completely out of the blue and unexpectedly, absolutely nothing happened. My brain slid out of my ears and ran away to the kitchen and the rat grabbed it and drug it behind the fridge, so now I can't do anything at all. I guess I will have to watch reality TV now... *sigh*
