Hey kathryn what do you guys mean when you say Morning Pages? I have seen others say it too. Am I just out of the loop?

Basically, you write it in the morning, like when you're eating breakfast, drinking coffee. You write three pages of whatever is on your mind, whether it is chores, errands, concerns, happy things, sad things...whatever comes to mind. The idea is to get your brain off of other things, and on to writing. It doesn't matter if it skips around, is nonsense. Whatever you want. No one else is supposed to read them. I will tell you today I forgot to write them because I've been busy, so I will write them later. So far, though, it's been a great exercise for me. I haven't written anything in a long time, and I've already started to think about writing again.
Janie wrote: "Ohhh ok I getcha! So basically it helps you to be able to write a book if you wanted?"Yeah, or anything else you've wanted to write, like poetry, short stories, etc. :)
4:32 PM. I've been cleaning my house and getting it clean so I don't have to do it this weekend. Plus, I'm a clean freak. Listening to a little country music...hah, I'm a Texan, don't forget. Seemed a little appropriate today, for some reason. Kitties are having fun with the broom. Going to workout after I finish cleaning.
5:45 P.M. est. I'm waiting for Safeway to deliver my 30 gallons of water, and ice cream, so I can get some reading and sleeping done.Kathryn, do you by any chance watch...Nashville? It's my new obsession. Love that show!
4:45PM almost finished with my shift at work. Due to the amount of family my wife and I have combined Christmas kicks off for us tonight. Christmas will last almost a week and a half and I already feel overwhelmed.

I think that is how Mark and I are making it through this year. :)

No, I have never watched Nashville, but I have heard of it. What channel does it come on? What is it about?
It's on ABC. All 8 episodes are on abc.com and xfinity.net, if you have Comcast. It follows three country singers. One couple trying to make it, a pop country star who just became famous, and wants respect. She has a drug addict mother who's always hitting her up for money. And a fading star and her husband. It's really good, and they have music throughout that really goes with the storylines.
Chris good luck with your Christmas(es). It can get overwhelming when there is a big family involved. When we cant get home for Christmas its not so bad, since hubs family is small. I have a very big family though and if we travel there always seems to be such a rush around most of the visit, and then going home in itself is a rest from the vacation.
It is tough with all the family to see and the biggest stress is just finding time to spend with everyone. That is why Christmas lasts so long for us. Thank you for your good thoughts, we will survive but with working and everything I'm ready to crash come January. To all, have a great night. Ill be back soon to hang out on GR.
7:27 AM. Been up since before my hub's alarm goes off at 7. Cats and my allergies woke me up. So...going to make some coffee and read.
Just set up my early christmas gift. Hehe a desk I have been wanting. YAY! Now checking GR, had my coffee. Good morning GR!
It's 9:52 AM and I'm waiting to get my hair cut. Then busy day visiting the Grandparents for Christmas and then my wife and I are doing dinner out and shopping for Santa's gifts to our son. ;-) Mini date night, dinner and shopping. Hope to get some reading in today.
11:46 a.m just had an English muffin and now I'm just messing around waiting for my guy to get home from work with the car so I can go finish the Christmas shopping
8:03 PM. Sitting here on GR and reading. Waiting for my love to finish getting cleaned up from playing out in the garage, so we can go out to dinner. So glad he is off tomorrow. :)
10:09pm ET. About to read some more. Put Duel: Terror Stories down for a spell and picked up Boy's Life; and i am loving it so far.
5:13am. Drinking coffee and planning the day. Getting ready to feed the puppy and do some Morning Pages. Hub is finishing up Christmas shopping today--just getting some kitchen stuff for our younger son. Need to do some basic house cleaning. Also, a library trip today! Sounds like a great day! Good morning GR!
9:11AM here checking GR, will be making a trip out today and revisit the UBS> I love that store, I could actually live there. Or maybe get a job there. That would be a dream job. LOL We are on SATURDAY!!!! WOOT GUYS can I get a YAY ONLY 3 DAYS!
9:45 AM. YAY ONLY 3 DAYS! hehe, Janie. :) Just checking out GR. My love and I slept in a little bit. He's got to get his haircut today, then not sure what we are doing. Have to go get something for my dad to give to Grandma for Christmas since he hates shopping, and I opened my mouth and offered. haha! But, I am going to treat myself by going to the thrift store to look for some books. Oh, and to Half-Price Books. :) P.S. WE'RE STILL HERE MAYANS! HAHA ;)
It's Sunday here so officially only 2 DAYS for me!! Yay! Can't wait to see my little niece and nephew open their pressies. I think I'm most looking forward to pigging out on delicious food!8.07am about to finish my book, The Twelve then I need to do some house work! That's the problem with being a bookworm, my priorities are a little different to other people's - the house can look like a bombs been dropped but if I have less than 100 pages in my book to go, I'm not stopping to clean even if the queen calls to say she's coming over for a cup of tea!
8:39PM and I just wanted to share that I had a wonderful day today. My amazing daughter Kay and Niece Shelby walked up to a Soldier and said thank you! He shook their hands and said "It is no problem." Does the heart good to see that you have done a decent job raising your kids. So now here I am checking GR and will prolly read some tonight since I did not get a chance to read today.
It's 6:33am and because I'm an idiot i forgot to turn my alarm off so now i'm awake reading and listening to my iPod :)
5.37pm enjoying Christmas Eve with my friends and family :) merry Christmas to all my lovely GR friends xx
8:30 AM. Was laying in bed for a bit after my sweet husband left to go to work. About to eat cereal and drink some coffee, read for a bit, workout, then get ready to go sneak and get Mark a surprise Christmas present. Fortunately, it's not far away, but also, it's a place where it won't be busy. haha! Then, we're smoking a turkey, Dad is showing me how to make a family recipe which has been passed down so I can keep up the tradition, make an apple pie, and have Christmas with my dad and our sweet kitties who love wrapping paper and bows. Tomorrow is our family Christmas with my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. Hope you all have a very safe and blessed Christmas!
8:37AM Checking on GR for now, wont have much time for reading today. I have much to do. My niece spent the weekend with us so I really did not read too much. LOL Oh well. So now gonna get off here and get some cleaning done and get ready for Christmas Eve! (Sounds like a wonderful Christmas for you Kathryn!! Nothing better than spending it with family!) Merry Christmas to all of my friends here on GR!
It's 9:06AM and I am at work today. Thankfully we close early so I will have time to spend with my family tonight. Christmas started a few days ago but we are getting through, and will see all of our family this year. I hope it is slow today and I just might get a little reading done. To all that celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas. To be fair to everyone else Happy Holidays.
