Joyce (eternity21) | 739 comments Erin here are your picks. I hope you enjoy them. I tried to stay on your TBR list as much as possible.

The Traditional Turkey Dinner

1. Turkey: Shadow of Night I loved the first one and this is the next in that series. I found the first to be very involved and think the next will be too.

A Kiss Before the Apocalypse This is a new author for you from your TBR list. It is a book I'm looking forward to reading as well.

2. Mashed Potatoes: Me and My Shadow Katie MacAlister tends to be a light read.

Resenting the Hero This looks like a funny book, just looking at the title made me chuckle a little bit.

3. Gravy:FaefeverThis was a really good one for sexy scenes if I remember right.

Naked Dragon this book has a nice cover of a guys back. This was a good book.

4. Pumpkin Pie: Chasing Fire all Nora Roberts books tend to be happily ever after type books.

Garden Spells A new author for you that is not on your list but I found it really good. Especially since it is not the type of book I really read I was hesitant to read it but I was so glad I did. Now I recommend it all the time.

Shadow of Night (All Souls Trilogy, #2) by Deborah Harkness Faefever (Fever, #3) by Karen Marie Moning Chasing Fire by Nora Roberts Me and My Shadow (Silver Dragons, #3) by Katie MacAlister Resenting the Hero (Hero, #1) by Moira J. Nancy H | 1113 comments MountainKat,
I had great fun going through your lists! You have so many great reads awaiting you on your TBR shelf that it was hard for me to decide. If you don’t find anything you like here, please let me know, and I will give you more titles because I saw so many more that I think you are going to love!

1. Turkey: Ape House by Sara Gruen – I saw that you liked Water for Elephants, so I thought you might like to read another one by her. The Furies: The Kent Family Chronicles #4 by John Jakes – I noticed that you liked the first three, and I agree that this is a great series, so I thought you might want to continue with the next one.

2. Mashed Potatoes: Springwater (Springwater #1) by Linda Lael Miller – I think hers are fun and light and quick to read. I read this series, and liked it.
Spying in High Heels by Gemma Halliday – another fun and light read

3. Gravy - aka Yummy covers - Both of these have very intriguing covers: Celtic Fire (Druids of Avalon #1) by Joy Nash and Real Men Last All Night by Lori Foster.

4. Pumpkin Pie – Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie - a funny and light one; Good Girls Don’t by Victoria Dahl -- the start to a very good series that is well worth reading

Also, I know we are not doing Buddy Reads as a category, but I saw that you want to read the Tony Danza one, I'd Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had and that you liked Rhoda Jantzen's Mennonite in a Little Black Dress. She has a new one called Does This Church Make Me Look Fat? I am really eager to read both of those, so if you would like to do a Buddy Read for either of them this month, please let me know and we can do that. I also haven't read Real Men Last All Night, that I recommended for your #3, and want to read that one too, if you would be interested in a B.R. for that one.

Hope you can find something here you like! If not, please let me know!

3. Gravy: Backstage Pass this one actually has fire on the cover.. doesn't get any hotter than that!

Tiffanny For Amanda

I'm so glad that it worked out where we could pick for each other!! You've read a lot of the same author's that I love! I hope that you find something from the list I've put together, if you'd like I can change or add anything.

1. Riding the Storm: I LOVE this series! It's a different take on paranormal. I've read the books in this series over and over again.
2. Broken: I noticed that you didn't have any books by Shiloh Walker. This is one of two books about twin brothers, and has a little mystery to it. I really like this book!
3. Hot Stuff: It's fun and light.
4. The Art of Seducing a Naked Werewolf: This is just as funny as the first one =)
5. Laid Bare: I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Brown Series and the Chase Brothers series by Lauren Dane. I recommend both of these series.
6. Long Hard Ride: This is the first of a long series. I really like the series starting with book 3, but 1 is still good. I got sucked into this series.
7. The Sugar Queen: I just finished this book for my October Pick It For Me. I have loved every single book by Sarah Addison Allen. I recommend any of them: Garden Spells, The Peach Keeper, or The Girl Who Chased the Moon, but for the challenge I listed one that you had on your to-read list =)
8. Trace of Fever: I noticed that you really liked When you Dare, so I figured you'd like this one as well. I enjoyed the whole series as well.

I hope you enjoy =)

P.S: Thank you for the great picks so quickly!!

I got you two books for each category - one from your TBR and the other not. However, I'm not familiar with most of the books in your TBR, so I'm going to give you a smattering of genres to choose from. I hope you'll find something that will catch you eye.

1. Turkey

Dune by Frank Herbert by Frank Herbert (an old favorite of mine)
Lord of the Fading Lands (Tairen Soul, #1) by C.L. Wilson by C.L. Wilson (if you are into epic fantasy, this is the beginning of a great series)

2. Mashed Potatoes

Kissed in Paris by Juliette Sobanet by Juliet Sobanet (saw this on your TBR...looks light and fluffy...)
Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflowers, #1) by Lisa Kleypas by Lisa Kleypas (Kleypas is one of my auto-buy authors...I think I'll introduce you to her works)

3. Gravy

Fate's Edge (The Edge, #3) by Ilona Andrews by Ilona Andrews (I see that you are a fan...this one does not disappoint)

Happy reading !

1.Turkey
a.Clockwork Angel- I dont know if this fits the category , but the blurb makes it seem to be intense.
b.Dragon Bound- Have been hearing a lot of good things about this books.

2.Mashed Potatoes
a.Second Grave on the Left- I saw that you have read the first book of this series and given it 5 stars .Its description also seemed really interesting.
b.How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire

3.Gravy
a.Lover Unleashed
b.Desire Unchained

4.Pumpkin Pie
Im gonna suggest Historicals here , you dont read many of them but I think you should try some , there is nothing that leaves you with a wide smile and aww feeling than a historical i think.

b.Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake- On my TBR have heard its very enchanting and lovely.

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 992 comments Hi Sallie(Shuga) I have your picks. I hope you like them :)

Turkey:

1.Slammed, very emotional book for me. This is the first book of a series and when I think about them, I can still feel it. One of my top reads of 2012 It wasn't on your tbr but I HAD to recommend it.
2.Second Chance Pass, you've read the first 4 books in this series and going by the blurb and reviews this looks like you need to have a box of tissues near by.
3. Sweet Savage Love, based on reviews this book seems to be very intense.

Mashed Potatoes:

1. Out of Eden, I've never heard of the this book before but the blurb sounds like it would be a very fluffy. Also it has a red shoes on the cover, and I'm a sucker for a red shoe!!
2. Casting Spells, This looks like a cute little light book. I may have to keep an eye out for it myself sometime.
3. Cherry On Top, light and funny with a little bit of mystery to it.

Gravy:

1. Slow Hands, Looks like there might be some yummy scense between these two
2. The Raven Prince, very hot and steamy, just how your gravy should be.
3. The Perfect Play, not on your tbr but just look at that cover.

Pumpkin Pie:

1. No Place Like Home, the holiday season is approaching, this books looks like a nice little story to curl up with while letting all the turkey settle in your tummy.
2. Cordina's Royal Family: Gabriella & Alexander, Nora Roberts appears to be your most read author so reading another book of her's would be like comfort food for you. Also both stories in this book seem like they will be very sweet.
3.Anne of Avonlea, You've read the first in the series. You should really coninue with it. Anne Shirley is one my favorite characters ever created. She inspires me so much.

Slammed (Slammed, #1) by Colleen Hoover Second Chance Pass (Virgin River, #5) by Robyn Carr Sweet Savage Love (Morgan-Challenger, #1) by Rosemary Rogers Out of Eden by Beth Ciotta Casting Spells (Sugar Maple, #1) by Barbara Bretton Cherry On Top by Kathleen Long Slow Hands by Leslie Kelly The Raven Prince (Princes Trilogy, #1) by Elizabeth Hoyt The Perfect Play (Play by Play, #1) by Jaci Burton No Place Like Home (Cisco, #1) by Fern Michaels Cordina's Royal Family Gabriella & Alexander (Cordina #1 & 2) by Nora Roberts Anne of Avonlea (Anne of Green Gables, #2) by L.M. message 178: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments ok Pollyanna, here we go... ;)

1. Turkey
Firefly Lane - i was a blubbering mess by the end of this book
Slave to Sensation - so the first book definately isn't the best in the series, but it grows on you - and you need to read them all because of the super-complex world that Singh has developed
Wave of Terror - this is one of those books I never would have picked up, if I wasn't doing an around the world reading challenge - but its totally worth it

2. Mashed Potatoes
My One and Only - most of KH's books are chick-lit, but this one is more romance than her others and I really enjoyed it
Good Girls Don't - Jim actually recommended this to me in a previous challenge and I really enjoyed it - there is a prequel in The Guy Next Door of you want to read it
Delicious - another cute fluffy start to a series

3. Gravy
Hard and Fast (Fast Track, #2) by Erin McCarthy My Fair Captain (Sci-Regency #1) by J.L. Langley - need I say more...the second one is m/m, but it is one of my favorite series out there - its a cross between sci-fi and historical

4. Pumpkin Pie
Just the Sexiest Man Alive - this was a total whipped cream book for me
The Gamble - LaVyrle SPencer is one of my comfort reads even now - i have lost track of how many times I have read her books over the years and this one is one of my favorites

Thanks for the picks Nancy. I'm not sure what I'm going to read yet, I'll see what I can fit in with the other challenges and go from there. I agree with you that the Kent family series is very good, but I was reading it so long ago - 31 years to be exact, I stopped when my oldest was born and his birthday is next week - I think I need to start over and should probably go and mark them all as unread! I honestly don't remember much beyond loving them while I was reading, I'm not even sure how far into the series I got, only that I didn't finish!

We didn't have a lot of books in common (plus I'm totally Buffy/Angel), so I hope you find something that sounds good to you here. If not, let me know, and I'll try again. :)

1. Turkey:
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Definitely intense, but a great story.
Magic Burns by Ilona Andrews. You really liked the first one and the series just keeps getting better.

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins Magic Burns (Kate Daniels, #2) by Ilona Andrews

Mashed Potatoes:
First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones hits the funny part, but not so much light. A good read and a popular series.
Sweet Inspiration by Penny Watson. Cute story about the oldest of Santa's boys. Getting to be that time of year.

First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones Sweet Inspiration (Klaus Brothers, #1) by Penny Watson

Gravy:
Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione definitely turns the heat up.
A Kiss of Shadows by Laurell K. Hamilton. I saw you had the first book of her Anita Blake series on your TBR, but I think you'll like this one better as it starts much hotter.

Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1) by Larissa Ione A Kiss of Shadows (Meredith Gentry, #1) by Laurell K. Hamilton

4. Pumpkin Pie:
Moon Called by Patricia Briggs is a great start to one of my favorite series. I think since you're enjoying Harry Dresden, you'll like this as well.
Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie is a book I tend to re-read at least once a year. Crusie writes zany characters with a lot of heart.

Thank you, Diane!! I am SO glad you added Hunger Games to my picks, I've been meaning to read that book, and keep forgetting about it. These all look awesome, and I will read as many as I can!

PS - I'm okay with your B/A love, since I'm assuming your name is a nod to on of my other favorite shows of all time ;-)

The Traditional Turkey Dinner

1. Turkey:
Pleasure Unbound This whole series is something to sink your teeth into. This first is probably the weakest, like most series. But you should really bite into it.
The Darkest Kiss I see you've read the first in the series and gave it 4 stars. Again the first was the weakest in the series, the second was one of my favorites though.

2. Mashed Potatoes:
A Quick Bite
This whole series is fun and light yet also great romances.
The Geek Job Light and fluffy with just a touch of smut.

3. Gravy:
The Mane Event Recently reccomended to me and I immeadiately dove in to the next 2 books.
Demon from the Dark You are further in this series than I am but if it keeps up like the begining it should have verry lickable characters.

4. Pumpkin Pie:
The Sweetest Thing I haven't read this one but it is on my TBR list and I've heard good things.
To Tame A Highland Warrior I read the first one last month and am currently feeling that dessert might be best served with a highlander.

Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1) by Larissa Ione The Mane Event (Pride, #1) by Shelly Laurenston A Quick Bite (Argeneau, #1) by Lynsay Sands The Geek Job by Eve Langlais The Darkest Kiss (Lords of the Underworld, #2) by Gena Showalter To Tame A Highland Warrior (Highlander #2) by Karen Marie Moning Demon from the Dark (Immortals After Dark, #10) by Kresley Cole The Sweetest Thing (Lucky Harbor, #2) by Jill Shalvis

Hi Karen! Thanks for the picks :) I think I'll go with either Lover Unleashed or Second Grave on the Right, purely based on which one I can find first.

Nikki (nikkit23) | 121 comments ~KarenH~, here are my picks for you!

1. Turkey: On Dublin Street - I see that you have this marked as a can't wait to read, and I'm telling you, you shouldn't wait! :) It's sooo good!! You'll definitely be able to sink your teeth into this one! While I have not read this one, I have heard really good things and I'm thinking it's also a book you can sink your teeth into! Try Bared to You and knock one of your can't wait list! :)

2. Mashed Potatoes: My first pic for this was a no brainer once I saw you have not yet read it... Seduction and Snacks was so freaking funny you'll be laughing about it way after you're done! (The second one is just as funny too!) My other choice for this category is A Wedding Story. This one is pretty short but still really good! Definitely funny with a side of fluff :)

3. Gravy: My first pic is a book I would also like to read so if you pick it and want to do a buddy read, I'm up for it! Omega Mine. Not only does Hearts in Darkness have a hot cover, but its also a really good book! It will have you thinking differently about elevators... ;)

4. Pumpkin Pie: I feel with the title of this category its only fair to bring in the most well known dessert eaters out there, the Bradfords! Playing for Keeps is a great book and is definitely a comfort book for me! While this book might be a little deep for this category, I have always thought it was a really sweet romance and has a great ending! Giving Chase is a great start to an awesome series! I'm gonna throw in a third since I feel like I got a little sidetracked with that pick... The Best Man is also a shortish book but I thought it was a sweet story! :)

I really enjoyed going through your shelves! We seem to have a lot of books in common so I hope I did ok with your picks! Let me know if you want me to redo any. :) Happy reading!

On Dublin Street by Samantha Young , Bared to You (Crossfire, #1) by Sylvia Day , Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers, #1) by Tara Sivec , A Wedding Story by Dee Tenorio , Omega Mine (Alpha and Omega Series, #1) by Aline Hunter , Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye , Playing for Keeps (A Neighbor from Hell, #1) by R.L. Mathewson , Giving Chase (Chase Brothers, #1) by Lauren Dane , The Best Man (The Wedding Trilogy #1) by Ella Ardent

Sue (knitwitsl) | 226 comments Daffodil,

You have a lot of books on your lists!

Turkey
Wanderlust by Ann Aguirre. This is the second in the series, and you've read the first (and have this on your tbr). I found it to be a very intense book.
The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. You don't have any by this author on your lists, but I thought this was a very thought provoking read.

Mashed Potatoes
The Accidental Demon Slayer by Angie Fox. I found this to be cute and fun.
The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde. I found this series of books to be quite funny and entertaining!

Gravy
Midnight's Daughter by Karen Chance. I really enjoy the stories by Chance and I think this fits into the yummy category for me.
Moonlight Warrior by Janet Chapman. I choose this one for the cover! I also liked the book as well.

Pumpkin Pie
Happily Ever After edited by John Klima. This looked like the most comfort type book on your tbr, but I have not read it yet so I'm just going by the descriptions!
What the Lady Wants by Jennifer Crusie. I see you've read a couple by Crusie. I like her books, but some of the earlier ones like this one just makes me feel good when I read it!

I hope you find something on this list that you would like to read in November!

Thanks! I plan to read "Fate's Edge" for November's pick. If I finish that, I may give "Holiday in Death" a try as well. Thanks for the picks :-)

Fran | 12285 comments Hi Ashley!

I am in so much traffic! I am trying to do this in the car on my iPad. I made a list on my phone last night of what I wanted to recommend to you so now's a good time to give them to you :)

I hope you find something you like!

Turkey:
Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling #1) by Nalini Singh - I loved this book- I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.
Hyde, an Urban Fantasy by Lauren Stewart - I just bought this one on Amazon. Heard great things. I can lend it to you if you want. A Jekyll and Hyde thriller.
Magic Bleeds (Kate Daniels, #4) by Ilona Andrews - you are up to this one in the series.

Mashed Potatoes-
Charming the Prince (Fairy Tales, #1) by Teresa Medeiros - I loved this one, on your tbr.
Lumberjack In Love by Penny Watson - looks fun and sweet. I am reading this one in Nov. if you would like to join me. It's free on Amazon to borrow if you have Prime.
Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers, #1) by Tara Sivec - heard great things, I have this one and would read it with you if you want to.

Gravy-
On Dublin Street by Samantha Young - hot cover, hot book- I would buddy read this one from your tbr too!
10 Ways To Steal Your Lover (Love by Numbers, #1) by Dee Tenorio - I just read this last week- loved it! Hot and a great love story.
The Secret of Ella and Micha (The Secret, #1) by Jessica Sorensen - looks good, it's gotten good buzz- only .99 on Amazon!

Pumpkin Pie-

On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves - I loved this adventure love story from your tbr.
Sophie & Carter by Chelsea Fine - the end of this shortish gem will leave you feeling so good!
Into the Wild Nerd Yonder by Julie Halpern - I adored this YA- I wanted to be friends with the main character in this book in real life and I never wanted the story to end. A teenage finding yourself story done perfectly.

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4194 comments Skandia here are your picks! Sorry I didn't get to it earlier but I was out of town and today we've been preparing for Hurricane Sandy. I've taken basically all of your picks from your TBR except for 1. I hope you like your picks. If you don't please let me know. :)

The Traditional Turkey Dinner

1. Turkey: The meat of the meal, suggest books that are intense or emotional, something you can sink your teeth into.
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks

These were both on your TBR but both very emotional. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks is non-fiction but it's amazing!

2. Mashed Potatoes: Fluffy and light, recommend books that are light or funny, a little bit of fluff for them to enjoy.
Something About You (FBI / US Attorney, #1) by Julie James Exclusively Yours (Kowalski Family, #1) by Shannon Stacey

Exclusively Yours isn't on your TBR shelf, but it's a cute and funny read. I love the Kowalski family!

3. Gravy: You know how you practically want to lick it off your plate? Yeah, like that. Choose books with yummy covers or yummy stories.
Backstage Pass (Sinners on Tour #1) by Olivia Cunning Too Hot To Touch (Rising Star Chef, #1) by Louisa Edwards

both of these stories are yummy in different ways. They are each the start of great series.

4. Pumpkin Pie: The sweet finish, topped off with whipped cream! Suggest sweet books for your pickee, some that are like comfort food, feel good books that will leave them feeling good!
How to Eat a Cupcake by Meg Donohue The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen

I know it's a bit obvious, but hey I like cupcakes and Peaches. And the Peach Keeper is definitely one of those feel good books.

Hi Jane!

Yes, the storm is supposed to hit us here on Long Island pretty badly. School already canceled tomorrow for my kids. I always lose power when it gets windy so I'm mentally prepared for several days without it. Now to just get out of this traffic and home to charge my kindle! And Nook! OK, I will make sure to have food and water for everyone too :)
