Nairabell | 433 comments Hi Lacy! I had a ton of fun looking through your bookshelves. Here are your recommendations, I hope you find something you like but feel free to give me a shout if you want any switched :)

Spring
Spring Cleaning: Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare.
You seem to really enjoy Cassandra Clare's books so why not give the second Infernal Devices a try, especially as you commented on the cliffhanger at the end of the first in your review.
Season of Rebirth: Strange Neighbours by Ashlyn Chase.
You haven't read many cozy mysteries, so I thought I'd recommend the one you have on your TBR. I remember hearing people say they enjoyed it so hopefully you will too.

Summer
Summer flings: Heart of the Dragon by Gena Showalter.
I spotted this on your TBR and realised I brought a copy last summer and forgot all about it. It sounds like a fun read, definitely the kind of book I'd pick in summer.
Beach Reads: The Dream Hunter by Sherrilyn Kenyon.
As soon as I saw this on your TBR I realised it would be the ideal beach read, especially as you enjoyed Fantasy Lover. This is set in Santorini, Greece and has gorgeous descriptions of the diving near there while the characters search for Atlantis.

Autumn
Sports Season: Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.
This series is crazy popular and when I finally read the first book I loved it. Even my sister who never reads enjoyed it. Definitely one where the popularity is deserved.
TV Seasons: A Girl's Guide to Vampires by Katie MacAlister.
This is the first book in the Dark Ones series and it's a lot of fun. I noticed you've got most of the series on your TBR so maybe you'd like to give it a go this month.

Winter
Cozy Winter: Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.
I really loved Shiver and it's definitely one of my favourite books ever. It's a beautifully written book and it's more of a people-in-love story than a falling-in-love romance.
Pass It On: A Season of Angels by Debbie Macomber.
This was one of the first recommendations I ever got from a Goodreads friend and I really enjoyed it. It's a really sweet Christmassy read.

Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2) by Cassandra Clare Strange Neighbors (Strange Neighbors, #1) by Ashlyn Chase Heart of the Dragon (Atlantis, #1) by Gena Showalter The Dream Hunter (Dream-Hunter, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead A Girl's Guide to Vampires (Dark Ones, #1) by Katie MacAlister Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater A Season of Angels (Angels Everywhere, #1) by Debbie Macomber

message 165: by Desperado (new)

Desperado (lethallovely) | 822 comments Hey, Irina! Here are my picks for you!

Spring
1. Spring Cleaning:
Archangel's Consort-You're three books behind! We cannot have this, for this series is kickass!
2. Season of Rebirth:
Cry Wolf-I noticed you didn't have many Urban Fantasy novels on your shelf. I'm guessing it's because they tend to be lacking in romance (& your profile said you read "anything with romance in it.")Well this spin-off series by Briggs focuses on the romance between the protagonists, Anna & Charles. I love it infinitely more than her "Mercy Thompson" series.

Summer
3. Summer flings:
Liquid Lies-It caught my attention because it's the same cover for Karin Tabke's Blood Law, only with blonde hair.
4. Beach Reads:
You Slay Me-One of the only paranormal chick-lit *gag* series I can happily read without feeling like my brain is dying.

Autumn
5. Sports Season:
Flat-Out Sexy-I noticed you enjoyed McCarthy's "Vegas Vampires" series. Why not try her CR series about NASCAR drivers?
6. TV Seasons:
The Immortal Rules-This is one of my favorite YA novels of 2012 thus far.

Winter
7. Cozy Winter:
Naked-I'm obsessed with the Goddess that is Megan Hart. This is one of my favorite books EVA.
8. Pass It On :
Divergent-I was rec'd this for December 2011's PIFM challenge & enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. I gave it 5 ★'s.

Archangel's Consort (Guild Hunter, #3) by Nalini Singh Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega, #1) by Patricia Briggs Liquid Lies (The Elementals, #1) by Hanna Martine You Slay Me (Aisling Grey Guardian, #1) by Katie MacAlister Flat-Out Sexy (Fast Track, #1) by Erin McCarthy The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1) by Julie Kagawa Naked by Megan Hart Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth

ShoSho (shoshost) | 59 comments Hi Misskim , here is what I picked for you . I'm really nervous , we only had 16 read books in common so I hope you at least like one of the books.

Spring
1. Spring Cleaning:
Equal Rites you've read the first two .
2.Season of Rebirth: Poison Study I didn't see anything like this in your book shelves , you might like it.

Autumn
5. Sports Season: The Fellowship of the RingIt's a very popular book
6. TV Seasons: A Feast for Crows a really long book

Winter
7. Cozy Winter:
Gone With the Wind I've read this one ages ago but it's good
8. Pass It On :Divine Evil I really enjoyed this one , it was recommended to me by a friend on GR

~KarenH~ | 11343 comments Hi, Fran!

After a couple of false starts and interruptions, I think I’m finally done. Her are your picks:

Spring
1. Spring Cleaning: You’ve read the first and third books in Mari Carr’s Wild Irish series but skipped the second, so how about reading Ruby Tuesday (or if you’ve read that one and I missed it, you can go ahead with one of the later books in the series). Visions of Heat has been on your TBR forever, even though you read the first book in the series and gave it 5 stars.
2. Season of Rebirth: I don’t see much (if any) romantic suspense on your shelves, but since you seem to like Maya Banks, you might want to give The Darkest Hour a try. Or, it looks like you used to read a lot of historicals but haven’t read any lately, so a couple that I really enjoyed are Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake or The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie

Summer
3. Summer flings: Shattered Glass and Life Lessons both caught my eye because they were recommended to me this month and I didn’t have time to get to them. If you are interested in a buddy read, I would love to read either one of these with you!
4. Beach Reads: The first author that pops into my mind when I think of beach reads is always Janet Evanovich, and considering the time of year I thought Thanksgiving might be appropriate (and I thought it was hilarious). Or, The Mane Event is another light, fun read that I really enjoyed.

Autumn
5. Sports Season: My favorite sports-themed series is Jaci Burton’s Play by Play series. The first book is The Perfect Play, and I thought the book was ALMOST as yummy as the cover! The Perfect Play (Play by Play, #1) by Jaci Burton Or, a couple of books that have been extremely popular in the last few years that I thought were wonderful are The Help and Water for Elephants.
6. TV Seasons: Pleasure Unbound is the start of a great series, or the longest book on your TBR is Lover Reborn (and I don’t know how you’ve resisted reading it this long).

Winter
7. Cozy Winter: The Sweetest Thing, Flat-Out Sexy, or Faith & Fidelity. All three of these are books I loved and would be perfect for a long evening in front of a fire with a cup of cocoa.
8. Pass It On : Hot Head and Rocky Mountain Heat were both PIFM recommendations that I enjoyed, and Exclusively Yours was brought to my attention by a friend, and I loved it!

I hope you find something here that works for you, Fran – if not let me know and I’ll take another shot at it. Enjoy!

message 173: by Sue (new)

Sue (knitwitsl) | 226 comments Elizabeth,

I had to go back, but I think I gave recommendations to you two years ago! At least it was an Elizabeth, maybe not you! Either way, I had fun going through your items and picking out your choices!

1. Spring Cleaning
Since your TBR is not that old, I thought I would recommend the next one in a series that you rated fairly high. Hidden by P.C. Cast, comes out October 16th, so it is perfect for the October PIFM read!

2. Season of Rebirth
The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde. It’s a slightly different type of book that I found very funny and enjoyable to read.

3. Summer flings
Bared to You by Sylvia Day. I see you've read the 50 Shades books and liked those, so I thought you might want to give this one a try as well. I just picked this one up today from the library, so let me know if you plan to read it in the next couple of weeks and I’ll join you for a buddy read!

4. Beach Reads
What the Lady Wants by Jennifer Crusie. I just love Crusie’s books and I think this is a fast and fun beach book.

5. Sports Season
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I see you read and liked the first one in the Hunger Games series. It took me a while before I would read this book because I thought the first book ended and did not need to be continued, but I’m glad I did. It picks right up and you almost need to read book 2 and 3 one after another!

6. TV Seasons
Dark Lover by J.R. Ward. This is the first in the series and on your TBR list.

7. Cozy Winter
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. I just love this book and it’s a definite comfort read for me.

8. Pass It On
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. This book was recommended by a coworker and I really enjoyed reading it!

I hope there is something here that you would like to read in October!

Alexis (LexaReads) | 375 comments Alright KarenH Here are your picks! It was kind of difficult, but I think I found a few good choices. Let me know if you don’t see anything and I’ll try again!

Spring
1. Spring Cleaning: A Wallflower Christmas by Lisa Kleypas. This has been on your TBR since the beginning, plus you've loved the rest of the series!!
2. Season of Rebirth: You read a lot of romance, but I didn’t see much else on your read boards. So I decided to recommend A Stolen Life by Jaycee Duggard. This is the non-fiction memoir of a kidnapped sex slave victim. It's a horrifying read, but I absolutely love her spirit.

A Wallflower Christmas (Wallflowers, #5) by Lisa Kleypas A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard

Summer
3. Summer Flings: Mr. Perfect. This is one of my all time favorite romantic suspense books. I honestly couldn’t believe you hadn’t read it yet!
4. Beach Reads: Holly's Inbox by Holly Denham. This is a fun chick lit book completely told through emails. It literally epitomizes light and fluffy.

Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard Holly's Inbox by Holly Denham

Autumn
5. Sports Season: Here's the Jill Shalvis book since we're both big fans! Read Slow Heat and let me know how it is... I'm still upset over my inability to finish Double Play, so I'm living vicariously through you! ;)
6: TV Seasons: I saw you had Mystery Man by Kristen Ashley on your TBR, but I recommend before jumping into that series that you read Rock Chick by her first. This series has the stories of a few characters that pop up in her Dream Men series... plus it's full of hot alpha men that will do anything for their women! I've read the first five now without stopping!

Double Play (Pacific Heat, #1) by Jill Shalvis Rock Chick (Rock Chick, #1) by Kristen Ashley

Winter
7. Cozy Winter:That Holiday Feeling by Debbie Macomber, Robyn Carr, and Sherryl Woods. This book includes 3 short stories by some of the queens of comfort. Robyn Carr's is also a novella for the Virgin River series, a series you have loved!
8. Pass it On The Darkest Night by Gena Showalter. This was recommended to me last December and I stayed up all night reading it. It was probably one of my favorites in 2011.

That Holiday Feeling (Includes Virgin River, #8) by Debbie Macomber The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld, #1) by Gena Showalter

Tania | 644 comments Hi Cathy C!

I had heaps of fun poking around your shelves. Hopefully you will find something here to read. If not let me know and I'll repick. I know you're participating in the reading tournament so I've tried to give you a range of books that can be used for that as well.

Spring
Spring Cleaning - You've come so far with Cherry Adair's T-FLAC series but didn't like number 13. Now I'm not sure if there was a particular reason but why don't you give Night Secrets a go and see if its a series you want to continue with.

Season of Rebirth - You don't have any Ann Aguirre on your shelves why don't you try Grimspace and see what you think.

Summer
Summer flings - I didn't realise there was a ACRO book that I haven't read... pick up Taken by Fire I know I'm going to.

Beach Reads - Light fluffy and will give you a good laugh well that has to be Jennifer Crusie's Bet Me

Autumn
Sports Season - Play it Hard and Fast with this book based in the NASCAR world (yes, for all my sins I do enjoy watching cars race round and round a circle).

TV Seasons - Ill Wind is the start of a nine book series about the weather and djinn's...

Winter
Cozy Winter - Angels' Blood by Nalini Singh is a book I come back to time and time again (as you can see by my 5 star rating :)

Pass It On - A friend recently recommend Shadow Dance to me so I'm keeping it in mind if I hit a crime/rom suspense square in the tournament.

Night Secrets (T-FLAC, #14) by Cherry Adair Grimspace (Sirantha Jax, #1) by Ann Aguirre Taken by Fire (ACRO, #6) by Sydney Croft Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie Hard and Fast (Fast Track, #2) by Erin McCarthy Ill Wind (Weather Warden, #1) by Rachel Caine Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter, #1) by Nalini Singh Shadow Dance by Susan Andersen

Thanks for the picks, there are several that I'm very interested in reading, including the Jaycee Dugard book. Which ones and how many will depend on where they fit in my challenges and how much time I have this month, but A Wallflower Christmas is almost a definite - I've been looking for an excuse to finish off that series!

just remember you can't start until the 1st - which is Monday - so you have plenty of time to wait and picks just went up this afternoon - your pickee has until the 2nd to do picks

You only have to read one book from your picks, but you are allowed to read as many as you'd like :)

Carla (carlacollette) | 347 comments Lady Allison- Had a great time looking at your TBR list--here are your picks. I hope that you find something that you like. Let me know if you’d like any re-picks.

Spring
1. Spring Cleaning: This book has been on your TBR list for a couple of years; I haven’t read them yet, but they look intriguing http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/63...
2. Season of Rebirth: This one was tough, since you obviously read a lot of different things; I picked a wonderful historical fiction about two women’s friendship http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/64...

Summer
3. Summer flings: This one caught my eye for obvious reasons http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13... Temptation in a Kilt (Bad Boys of the Highlands, #1) by Victoria Roberts
4. Beach Reads: This one looked beach-able: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...

Autumn
5. Sports Season: I just caved in and read this, with mixed feelings, but it’s certainly popular http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10...
6. TV Seasons: This is a cute paranormal mystery with romance series from your TBR list http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/66...

Winter
7. Cozy Winter: Any season is good for a Stephanie Plum novel, I think—formulaic, yes, but very fun http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/64...
8. Pass It On : This book was recommended by a friend and everyone in my book group loved it—a quickly moving story about a woman who loses 10 years of her memory, forgetting why she’s getting divorced and why she’s become overachieving supermom http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/64...

Yes, we do! :D

Thanks for the picks, there are several that I'm very interested in reading, including the Jaycee Dugard book. W..."

Yay! I'm glad you liked my picks!! I seriously felt like everything I wanted to recommend you'd read already so I was really nervous.

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 741 comments Alright, Ruth Ann, the dishes are done and my daughter and her trumpet are on the bus to an away game and I have picks for you! I enjoyed looking through your shelves. Let me know if these don't work for you.

1. Spring Cleaning: Ghost Shadow by Heather Graham. It's been on your TBR the longest.

2. Season of Rebirth: You don't seem to have any cowboy books on your shelf, so why not try Texas Destiny by Lorraine Heath? I'm not a big cowboy/western romance reader, but I really liked this one.

3. Summer Fling: I've been in the mood to read Vikings and this looks good... Fires of Winter. And really, you can't go wrong with Johanna Lindsey.

4. Beach Reads: Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella has some really funny parts and it's an easy read.

5. Sports Season: Of course I'm going to recommend this one, I saw it at Barnes & Noble today and had it in my hands. Then it dawned on me that I still have book 3 in the series to read...but I bought it anyway ;) Playing to Win by Jaci Burton

6. TV Seasons: I saw you had The Gamble by Kristen Ashley on your TBR. I just finished reading this series and LOVED it! I think the books get better with each one in it.

7. Cozy Winter: The Secret History of the Pink Carnation by Lauren Willig is definitely something to curl up with. It's a romance-slash-mystery. And FUNNY! There hasn't been one in this series that I haven't liked.

8.Pass It On: A couple of months ago I read Mistress of Rome with a few ladies during the PIFM and this was really good. It has romance in it, but it's not just a romance. It really shows life in ancient Rome. Wonderful book and I'm looking forward to the next one in the series.

Ghost Shadow (Bone Island Trilogy, #1) by Heather Graham Texas Destiny (Texas Trilogy, #1) by Lorraine Heath Fires of Winter (Viking #1) by Johanna Lindsey Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella Playing to Win (Play by Play, #4) by Jaci Burton The Gamble (Colorado Mountain, #1) by Kristen Ashley The Secret History of the Pink Carnation (Pink Carnation, #1) by Lauren Willig Mistress of Rome (Rome, #1) by Kate Quinn

I read your little about me paragraph and thought, hmmm, this should be easy, I like romance, PNR, mystery and YA too. So it wasn't surprising we had lots of books in common. I hope you like your picks and something peaks your interest.

Spring
1. Spring Cleaning: Bayou Moon by Ilona Andrews. You really liked the first one, so pick this one up and meet the Mar clan.
2. Season of Rebirth: Since we read so many of the same genres, this was a little harder, until I found this on your TBR - The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. You know you want to find out the answer to life, the universe and everything. Just so I don't go all TBR recs, Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything by Steven D. Levitt is a very interesting and thought provoking read. He has a very different way of looking at problems.

Summer
3. Summer flings: You had quite a few eye-catching covers, but I decided to go with Red Heat by Nina Bruhns. I know nothing of the plot, but the cover is sure nice to look at.
4. Beach Reads: You really liked Agnes and the Hitman, so try out my absolute favorite Crusie (and I love just about all of them) - Bet Me.

Autumn
5. Sports Season: You really need to join the popular crowd and read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This first book definitely lives up to its hype.
6. TV Seasons: I see you have The Diva Runs Out of Thyme by Krista Davis on your TBR. This is fun mystery series and it is just about that time of year. You might also check out Truly, Madly by Heather Webber. This mystery series has a bit of paranormal in it and I hope there will be more than 3 books in it.

Winter
7. Cozy Winter: The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz is somewhat comparable to the Stephanie Plum books by Evanovich. I like these better, but the style does take some getting used to. One of my favorites, I've had since middle school (which believe me was a long, long time ago) is The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin. This is a great comfort read and a good mystery considering it is YA.
8. Pass It On: As soon as I saw this on your TBR, I knew it was what I was going to recommend here. A friend recommended it to me and it received one of my few 5 star ratings. It is a great PNR that kept me guessing until the end and then I felt a bit like Homer Simpson - Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison.

Bayou Moon (The Edge, #2) by Ilona Andrews The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Hitchhiker's Guide, #1) by Douglas Adams Freakonomics A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything by Steven D. Levitt Red Heat (Men In Uniform, #1) by Nina Bruhns Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins The Diva Runs Out of Thyme (A Domestic Diva Mystery, #1) by Krista Davis Truly, Madly (Lucy Valentine, #1) by Heather Webber The Spellman Files (The Spellmans #1) by Lisa Lutz The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison

I know what you mean - I had the same problem picking for you. Last month was really tough because I also had to keep from duplicating the previous month's picks!

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments Ok, MacWolfe (Elisa), here we go…

Spring
1. Spring Cleaning: Darker After Midnight - #10 in the series or The Giver (been on your shelf since 2009) – it’s a short but powerful read and with Banned Books Week being next week and it being on the list – it’s a double whammy
2. Season of Rebirth: You have lots of PNR on your shelf, but not a lot of Fae of PNR, so I’m going to give you 2 options – Darkfever (on your TBR) or Thirty Nights with a Highland Husband (Time Travel with Fae)

Summer
3. Summer flings: The Canterbury Tales: A Retelling
4. Beach Reads: Good Girls Don't – really lite, contemp romance

Autumn
5. Sports Season: See Jane Score (if you don’t mind reading out of order), the first one is Simply Irresistible (if you want to read the first one in the series)
6. TV Seasons: Slightly Married (so you can try another Mary Balogh)

Winter
7. Cozy Winter: Between Sinners and Saints (Marie Sexton is a comfort read for me) or The Gamble (I saw you had Morning Glory but LaVyrle Spencer on your shelf, but this one is a particular favorite of mine and she was my introduction to romance and to this day is a comfort read for me)
8. Pass It On : Master of Crows – recommended to me by several friends

Mimmy (roxym) | 208 comments Hey Kimberly,

Here are my October picks for you:

Spring
1. Spring Cleaning: Recommend a book from a series that they have already started or a book that has been longest in from your pickee's TBR. The Casual Vacancy, by J.K. Rowling. I love that you have two “must have ASAP” lists! I noticed that you added this book in February 2012.
2. Season of Rebirth: Recommend an author/genre that they don't regularly read. Delirium by Lauren Oliver, for YA/dystopia.

Summer
3. Summer flings: Recommend a book from your pickee's TBR that caught you eye. The Age of Desire, the Edith Wharton fictional biography.
4. Beach Reads: Recommend a light, fluffy book that can be read in a beach. Wicked Business by Janet Evanovich. I noticed that you’re up to date on the Stephanie Plum series! I’ve only read a few books, but found them perfect for the beach or in-transit reading.

Autumn
5. Sports Season: Read a book with sports premise or a very popular book. Gold by Chris Cleave.
6. TV Seasons: Fall is the start of new seasons of TV shows. Recommend a series that is new to your pickee or a long book. Extreme Exposure (I-Team#1) by Pamela Clare. I started reading this series from another PIFM challenge.

Winter
7. Cozy Winter: Recommend a book that you read and loved; a book that is a comfort read on a wintery night. Joy for Beginners by Erica Bauermeister
8. Pass It On : Pass on a book you loved that was recommended to you by a friend or from another PIFM challenge. Naked In Death (In Death #1) by J.D. Robb. Megan L suggested this to me in April PIFM and I’m almost caught up.

The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver The Age of Desire by Jennie Fields Wicked Business (Lizzy & Diesel, #2) by Janet Evanovich Gold by Chris Cleave Extreme Exposure (I-Team, #1) by Pamela Clare Joy For Beginners by Erica Bauermeister Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D.
