This book is so refreshing!! it's not like any other vampire book with romance. There is girl likes a boy going on, but that's all and a girl is a vampire for a change. The world the author is build up is more lilke dystopya and there is a virus that makes humans monsters, plus vampire life is not that glamorous.

Emily | 109 comments I finished reading Breaking Free (Masters of the Shadowlands, #3) by Cherise Sinclair 10/15. I love the way Beth and Nolan come together at the end. They both have personal baggage and have to learn to overcome it. I love Cherise's books. I would rate this a 5/5. I like how the book showed a little bit more about the other men of the club. Cant wait to read the next one.

Series Catch-Up
Finished~10/15/12
Stars~★★★

I'm not quite sure where to start...

There was way too much time in between books

I have read too many books in between this book & the last 3 that I forgot some details that were necessary to remember & there was no recap. Some things I remembered nearly 3/4 of the way through. These books were written to be read in order!! With no recap, it would make no sense if you don't.

It missed key points to state near the beginning of the book.

Abigail is a main supporting character in this book & LM failed to mention that she was the deaf sister. Until they traveled from Sinclair to Balmoral, to the other sisters castle, where she mentioned only coming to Scotland to protect her sister, did I realize she was the deaf one. There was no mention of her reading lips at all.

Not much romance...

From what I remember, the romance started early in all the other books. This was a kissing book until the last 75 pages (out of 306). It was a frustrating fight through the whole book & it was very light.

The Plot was good...

This story added another form of shifters & a cursed plague that would kill the shifters that Eirik & Ciara will have to fight with their stones. Also, since the last book, about 7 years has passed (which seems like it since the last book came out!)so the next books may have more of a time spread. Who knows.

***I was slightly disappointed with this book, because of all the things thrown in and it being so long since the last book. I would have given it a much higher rating if I was able to read them closer together. I'm not sure the next book would keep my attention since it may be a while for that one to come out too.

Lala | 1065 comments Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand (Kitty Norville, #5) by Carrie Vaughn
16.10.12 *****

Kitty and Ben are planing to get married in this book and they are going to vegas for it :) Where ever Kitty goes she manages to find trouble and this book is not exception. There are bounty hunters, old magic, animal act with animals that are not really animals and more.

This book kept me on edge and i loved every moment of it :P

Megan L Harnett Evernight (Evernight, #1) by Claudia Gray
Finished: 10/21/12
Rating: ★★★

Review

This story is about vampires living at a school learning how to live in modern times. Although half the students at the school are humans and don't know they are in school with vampires.

Bianca is a vampire that moves to the school with her parents. She falls in love with Lucas who is a human with secrets of his own. This book was ok. There was a big twist in the middle of it and then another a little further on in the story. I hope the series gets better.

Dawn (dawn_e) | 185 comments Book: Widow’s Web (Elemental Assassin, #7) by Jennifer Estep
Shelf: Series Catch-up
Date: 10.21
Rating: ★★★★

Gin is looking forward to her future with Owen and a time when she doesnt have to fight off every bad guy looking to kill her. Course now that Mab is dead someone has to take over. Enter Salina, a dangerous and psychotic water elemental and.... Owen's ex-fiance. She's looking for revenge and wants Owen back.

A fast paced book and one I didn't want to put down. I love these characters however I am highly disappointed in Owen. I can't say I was happy with how it ended but I can only hope that Jo-Jo is right about the future. This author does have the tendency to repeat things which drives me a little crazy!

Emily | 109 comments Demon shelf: I finished Marked (Eternal Guardians, #1) by Elisabeth Naughton on 10/21. I rate it 3.5/5 stars. This is the story about Theron and Casey. Casey finds out she is not just a human and that Theron is engaged to her half sister. There is some greek mythology in this book which I do like. I am not sure I like the was Persephone was depicted. I am not sure where this series is going and if I will continue to read it. If it happens to fill a shelf require then I might. It was an easy read so that was nice. The character development was okay but not the best that I have read.

Demon Shelf

My computer was too slow & wouldn't let me post this the other day, then I forgot to follow up!!

♡ Sassy ~ Amy ♡ | 494 comments The Darkest Whisper (Lords of the Underworld, #4) by Gena Showalter

Shelf ~ Demon
Finished~ 10/25/12
Rating~ ★★★★

Sabin is holds the demon "Doubt". Gwen is a Harpy & half Angel. Gwen can tell the different voiced between his demon & him, so she can ignore the demon, but it pisses her off so she goes Harpy to fight.

This was a long drawn out story about the demons having saved a bunch of immortal women from the hunters. The purpose of the womens capture was to breed immortal hunters which will be lead to kill the Lords of the Underworld.

This was a good book & fell smoothly into the series, but I was kind of bored at times. I will continue with the series because I own them all already, but to me it wasn't exciting enough to rush right into the next book.

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments So we just need one more review for the Free Space stamps? Demons was another good one for us but I just saw that psychic is a winning shelf for one of the teams already. So hopefully Mr. Randomizer will call Male Lead or Paranormal Romance instead. If the Magic shelf is called then when psychic is finally called we will be racing at least 1 other team and will need the free space stamp.

Book: Succubus Shadows (Georgina Kincaid, #5) by Richelle Mead
Shelf: Demons
Date Read 10.26
Rating: ★★★★

I keep forgetting how much I enjoy this series but for some reason I keep putting off reading the next one. Richelle Mead is one of my favorite authors and she did not disappoint. This was a book I didnt want to put down ( I was late to just about everything that day :)) It was very interesting to see peeks into Georgina's past and how it has shaped her into who she is. The comment about her world going in circles is spot on - her and Seth are soulmates and just maybe Seth is Kyriakos himself? However this book had me falling in love with Roman and hoping everything works out for him in the end.

♡ Sassy ~ Amy ♡ | 494 comments Mary wrote: "So we just need one more review for the Free Space stamps?

That would be me & i started that book a long time ago when it first came out but got tired of the cowboy talk so I put it away. Sine I had to choose from the list of books, I just dread having to read it, but I guess I will this weekend...

Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter, #1) by Nalini Singh

5 Stars
10/28/12

The fact that I have already purchased and downloaded the next 2 books in the series is a big clue to how much I liked this book. I really liked the fact that it's not in 1st person. I love UF but prefer 3rd person. Seems like the majority of UF series are in 1st person. I like to get some of the story from the other characters perspective. While I like good sex scenes, I like how Singh doesn't just toss them in just to have them. She works them in when they work with the plot.

Shelf ~ Favorite Series
Finished~ 10/28/12

Well, I know why only one person put this as a favorite series. This will be one I abandon.

Jacquelyn Frank has several series working. All of them are night walkers. Those who cannot walk in the sun. This series is about souls from Egypt (Cleopatra etc.) jumping into & sharing soul space with humans who almost or do die & come back to life. There is a time for blending where both souls blend into a personality of one individual.

I myself cannot take a whole lot of inner termoil. Obviously not only do these people have a ton of inner termoil happening, but 2 seperate people in one body have conversations & termoil & all of the additional characters who are part of these "Bodywalker" group also have 2 people inside "blending".

This book was so full of inner termoil & world building & Egyption history & repeating of the same history "why mummyism was not a wise choice" that it did get kind of boring. There was also a lot of kissing & "Oh no we can't's That I was bored by the resolve at the end, which really wasn't a resolve, but another issue.

It was well written, so I did give it a 4 star. It wasn't a crappy cheesy book so it didn't deserve a 3 star rating in my book.

Emily | 109 comments I just finished Reflected in You (Crossfire, #2) by Sylvia Day today 10.28. It was an awesome read. I had the hardest time putting this books down. The relationship between Gideon and Eva is heating up and then they hit this rough patch. It was horrible. Sylvia makes it so easy to get to know your characters so you want to cheer for them. The end of the book is the best. I wont say what happened but it will leave you craving the last and final book of the series. I would say this series is better than 50 shades and I loved that series. 5/5

This book is about Wraith and Serena and how they become to love eachother. Serena is a treasure hunter and her path crosses with Wraith. AS any good romance they figth and make up and then fight again and make up again :) i enjoyed the story and the romance and can't wait to read the next book. With every book this series is getting better and better :)

♡ Sassy ~ Amy ♡ | 494 comments Has anyone else noticed?

After the changes to goodreads, I added books that I bought to my "to read" now "Want to read" list. When I added a book, I accidently clicked currently reading & then immediately changed it to my want to read list. Well. It was never on my home page as reading, but after I read it, it said my start date to read was the date I added it, which was 2 days before I even started the book?

This is a first, so I was just wondering if that has happened to anyone else & if anyone knows how to change the start date. I read a book every other day unless I get busy, like today....

Faythe is a bit too self-centered I kept hoping she would mature some but seemed like she only took a baby step forward. There were a few moments where she realized she was selfish and self centered but it didnt seem to make a lasting impression. However I did enjoy the book it was written very well and a good storyline, with a cliffhanger for book 3 which I will be reading

I was actually hesitant to read this because I had let myself read some spoilers. I didn't realize that it was intended to be the last book but then I guess before she finished it she agreed to write more. This is a hard one to review without giving spoilers. So I will just say that I'm glad I read it despite the fact that I wasn't sure I was going to like where she was taking the series (remember I had spoilers). But I liked the way she basically wrapped up what I'll call it the series First Act. This book was more the action and less on the romance than some of the others in the series. But I find that pretty common with series books that are climatic ones in bringing about the start or end of a major story arc. While intend to read the next one, it kind of felt like she was prepping for another series. Which of course excites and disapoints me. It only disappoints me because I need another series to start like I need a hole in the head.
