Skandia (sfgirl) | 972 comments Hi Breann,

Here are my picks for you. If you want me to pick a different book in some categories, I'm glad to do it! It was difficult to limit myself to just one pick per categorie but I hope I got something that you'll like.

Home Run: On the Edge by Ilona Andrews

Field of Dreams: The Mane Event by Shelly Laurenston

Clean Up Hitter: Conspiracy in Death by J.D. Robb

World Series: Seduce Me at Sunrise by Lisa Kleypas

First and Goal: Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen

Friday Night Lights: 666 Park Avenue by Gabriella Pierce

Touchdown: Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Super Bowl: Marked by Elisabeth Naughton

On the Edge (The Edge, #1) by Ilona Andrews The Mane Event (Pride, #1) by Shelly Laurenston Conspiracy in Death (In Death, #8) by J.D. Robb Seduce Me at Sunrise (The Hathaways, #2) by Lisa Kleypas Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen 666 Park Avenue (666 Park Avenue, #1) by Gabriella Pierce Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater Marked (Eternal Guardians, #1) by Elisabeth Naughton

Mandy (mandypants) Hey Joyce,
My goal was to not recommend anything that I recommended last year. I hope I succeeded. Enjoy!

Baseball - From Their To-Read (or Similar Unread) Shelf:
Home Run:Blue Moon- Hamilton's one of your most read authors. I've heard this series takes a turn in the later books.
Field of Dreams: Shadow of Night- This gets checks for time travel and paranormal. I haven’t read this one yet, but the first was really good.
Clean Up Hitter: Dead and Gone- You’re almost done with book eight. I liked this one even more.
World Series: Beyond the Highland Mist- You’re reading the last Fever book. This series has some crossovers from the Fever world. You should give it a go.

Football - From Your Shelves or New to Them:
First and Goal: Devil's Kiss- Zoe Archer is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.
Friday Night Lights: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix- I don’t tend to read books that are movies, but this is Harry Potter we’re talking about. So, maybe you should think about finishing the series.
Touchdown: Mine Till Midnight- I guess I just needed to recommend something that isn’t strictly paranormal; however, there is certainly a little paranormal flavor in this historical romance.
Super Bowl: Warrior- Love this series! It’s not steampunk, but more along the lines of an Indiana Jones type of romance adventure.

Vicki | 153 comments Hi Elizabeth!

I noticed that it is your second time participating this challenge, and me too :) Here is your pick, and hope you enjoy your them!

Home Run: Recommend a book from one their favorite authors, it is sure to be a home run.

Baby Proof by Emily Giffin.

I've noticed that you read three books by the author and enjoyed them all!

Field of Dreams: If you build it they will come... Suggest a paranormal romance, a book with time travel, or a book set in a time or place you would love to travel to.

Dark Lover by J.R. Ward

I just read this book for last month's PIFM challenge and it was great!

Clean Up Hitter: To clean up their shelves, pick the next book in a series your pickee has enjoyed, especially if it is a new release or a series they seem to have forgotten.

Blood Promise by Richelle Mead

This book was not on your TBR list, but I noticed you have read 1-3 and 8th book on this series. This book is the 4th one.

World Series: Who are they kidding, at best it should be called the North America Series, even that is stretching it - there is only one team based out of the US in Canada. So suggest a book set outside the US.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë.

A classic novel set in Great Britian, and one of my favorites of all time!

First and Goal: Suggest a new author or genre that you think your pickee will love.

Night Road by Kristin Hannah

I find Kristin Hannah's books similar to that of Emily Giffin's. Women's literature that focuses on relationships (between family/friends/significant others).

Friday Night Lights: Pick a book that has been or will be made into a movie or TV show.

Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom

Touchdown: Recommend one of your five star reads from this year.

Mariana by Susanna Kearsley

I've read 3 books by this author this year, and all were wonderful! Mariana is one of her earliest works, and it is romantic time travel fiction.

Super Bowl: Honestly, it isn't usually that super. The best playoff games are often before they make it all the way to the Super Bowl. But the point is the journey, so suggest a book that you loved that is in a series, either a continuation for your pickee or a new to them series you think they will love too.

Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery

Hope you enjoy them!

Baby Proof by Emily Giffin Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward Blood Promise (Vampire Academy, #4) by Richelle Mead Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë Night Road by Kristin Hannah Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom Mariana by Susanna Kearsley Anne of Green Gables (Anne of Green Gables, #1) by L.M. Montgomery

Thanks for great recs!
I have Glory in Death (In Death, #2) by J.D. Robb ready to read and Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake (Love By Numbers #1) by Sarah MacLean looks interesting, too.

Hey Mounika!

Here are you picks, I hope you find something you like!

Baseball - From Their To-Read (or Similar Unread) Shelf:
Home Run:
Just the Sexiest Man Alive, you seem to like Julie James, this is her debut novel.

Field of Dreams: The Time Traveler's Wife, bit of a classic, and on your TBR. I liked the intriguing concepts!

Clean Up Hitter: Pandemonium, this is the next book after Delirium, which you liked. It has more action and Lena actually kicks some ass!

World Series: The Bronze Horseman, I cannot emphasise enough how much you need to read this book. It is the love story of all love stories.

Football - From Your Shelves or New to Them:
First and Goal:
Deadly Fear, you don't seem to read much romantic suspense, so here's a good one for you. The romance and suspense are nicely balanced.

Friday Night Lights: On the Island, a fantastic older-woman-younger-man romance that everyone loves. It's very well-written.

Touchdown: Bared to You, this is erotica, but it's very clever and engaging and I loved the characters

Super Bowl: The Immortal Highlander, this is book 6 in the series and you seem to be enjoying it!

Amy J., thanks for your consideration on my lack of paranormal tastes! I haven't quite decided what I'm going to read yet, but the list looks good! Thank you!

message 258: by Gea (new)

Gea (gea89) | 545 comments Hi Vicki!

I liked going through your shelves since we have many books in common. If there is any category that doesn't suit you I can make another recommendation.

Baseball - From Their To-Read (or Similar Unread) Shelf:
Home run: Ransom by Julie Garwood
You've read 8 books by Julie Garwood and I picked this one you haven't read yet.
Field of Dreams: Sapphire Dream by Pamela Montgomerie
This is a time travel book that sounds interesting.
Clean Up Hitter: Twice Tempted by a Rogue by Tessa Dare
You're not much of a series reader, from what I've seen you mostly read just one book from the series. This book was marked as to read along with another book from series.
World Series: Butterfly Swords by Jeannie Lin
This book is set in China.

Ransom (Highlands' Lairds, #2) by Julie Garwood Sapphire Dream (Jewels of Time #1) by Pamela Montgomerie Twice Tempted by a Rogue (Stud Club, #2) by Tessa Dare Butterfly Swords (Tang Dynasty, #1) by Jeannie Lin

Football - From Your Shelves or New to Them:
First and Goal: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
This is a completely new genre for you, it's mixed with young adult and fantasy and hopefully you will like it.
Friday Night Lights: The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffinegger
This book was made into a movie and you have it on yout TBR shelf, so you should give it a try.
Touchdown: Jocelyn's Choice by Ella jade
Young adult book I've read this year and gave it a 5 star rating. I am not a big fan of young adult books that are not mixed with fantasy, but I really liked this "standard" one.
Super Bowl: It Had to Be You by Susan Elizabeth Philliips
You haven't read any of author's books but you have this one on your TBR shelf. I absolutely loved her Chicago Stars and I think you will like it too.

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1) by Rick Riordan The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger Jocelyn's Choice by Ella Jade It Had to Be You (Chicago Stars, #1) by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

Field of Dreams: Awaken Me Darkly New author for you, I like this series better then LOTU
Clean Up Hitter: Seduction Of A Highland Lass- Rated #1 highly, read #2
World Series: Grimspace- Outerspace. Heard good things about this series

Football - From Your Shelves or New to Them:

Friday Night Lights: Fifty Shades of Grey- curious about this one
Touchdown: Cinder- one of my favorite reads of the year
Super Bowl: Mine to Possess- Next!

If you'd like to do a Buddy read(s), I haven't read Grimspace or 50 Shades.....

Clean Up Hitter: Pleasure of a Dark Prince by Kresley Cole. I've heard a lot of good things about this series.

World Series: The Dark One by Ronda Thompson. Set in London.

First and Goal: The Housewife Assassin's Handbook by Josie Brown. A new author for you to give a try too. This book is just fantastic, the next one in the series is coming out soon.

Friday Night Lights: Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. I can't believe you haven't read this yet.

Touchdown: Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas. Love it.

message 262: by Susan (susayq ~) (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 741 comments Ashley I had a great time picking for you! I hope you find something great to read off this list :) If not, let me know cause I came up with several choices for each category LOL

home Run You seem to really like Kristen Ashley, but haven't read Rock Chick Renegade from that series.

Field of Dreams You've read some other books by Karen Marie Moning, but you haven't read her Highlander series, so why not read Kiss of the Highlander? It's book 4 in the series, but you don't have to read this in order. It's a great time-travel book.

Clean-Up Hitter Darker After Midnight is the last book in the Midnight Breed series and you've read all the rest of them, even though your ratings have gone down LOL

World Series The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley is set in Scotland and is a wonderful read!

First & Goal Pamela Clare is an author you haven't read before. I suggest, Surrender. I really enjoyed it.

Friday Night Lights You can't go wrong with The Princess Bride in book or movie form :)

Touchdown The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley is amazing! I fell in love with Ian, he's such a different hero than writers usually portray. I just finished the 3rd book in this series and loved his brother Cameron even more than Ian.

Super Bowl You've read Nalini Singh's Archangel series and seem to have liked it, so you ought to try her Psy-Changeling series. Slave to Sensation is the first book in the series and I think the books get better with each one that is published. This series has made me a lover of shifters :)

Jojo | 1010 comments Hi Gisbelle
I enjoyed looking through your shelves, we don’t have many books in common so it was really interesting to look at all the different books around. You seem to like Young Adult and I’ve never read much of that genre so I hope the recs will be good, if there are any problems let me know and I’ll sort out some others.

Baseball - From Their To-Read (or Similar Unread) Shelf:

Home Run: Killer by Sara Shepard - I see you have read and enjoyed books from a couple of series by this author so I hope this one lives up to the others.

Field of Dreams: Hourglass by Myra McEntire - I love paranormal and time travel so this book seems to have it all.

Clean Up Hitter:The Vincent Brothers by Abbi Glines - The first in this series is one of the few YA books I have read and I really enjoyed it – hopefully the second is good as well.

World Series: The Day the Flowers Died by Ami Blackwelder - When I looked at this book on your shelf I thought it would be an apocalyptic story but this seems as though it will be heartbreaking.

Killer (Pretty Little Liars, #6) by Sara Shepard Hourglass (Hourglass, #1) by Myra McEntire The Vincent Brothers (The Vincent Boys, #2) by Abbi Glines The Day the Flowers Died by Ami Blackwelder

Football - From Your Shelves or New to Them:

First and Goal:The Day Before by Lisa Schroeder – I’m not too aware of YA authors but while I was browsing I found a few books by this author that looked very good and this book is one of them.

Friday Night Lights: Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris – I did read the first couple of books a few years ago and I love the True Blood TV Series (so do some of my friends who aren’t normally into this type of story)

Touchdown: A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness – This was recommended to me earlier this year and I loved it, I read this and the second book in a week.

Super Bowl: Spying in High Heels by Gemma Halliday – This book isn’t intellectual or emotional but it is a fun lighthearted read and sometimes that’s just what you can be in the mood for.

The Day Before by Lisa Schroeder Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse, #1) by Charlaine Harris A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness Spying in High Heels (A High Heels Mystery, #1) by Gemma Halliday

2-Field of Dream: Dragonfly In amber Actually I didn't see this on your TBR but OUTLANDER got 5 stars from you, so I said to myself maybe the next in the series will get a 5 stars too.

3-Clean up hitter: Rules of Attraction a light and funny book.

4-World Series: Poison Study this book was set in Ixia.(Ixia??) but it seems a good one, it was highly rated by all my friends who read it.

5-First and Goal: Code to zero by Ken Follet

6-Friday Night Lights: Catching Fire maybe I overrated this one but it's a good one.

7-Touchdown: The Sphere by Michael Crichton

message 272: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments Diane~Firefly~ - are you ready???

Here are my choices for you - hopefully one (or more of them work out) - there are a couple I am interested in buddy reading with you and I marked them with 2 asterisks

Home Run - Copper Beach - you have lots and lots of books by JAK (and all her other names) on your shelves, but I didn't see this one

Field of Dreams - The Rose Garden** - ok, so technically this isn't on your TBR, but its Time Travel, and i've read ones by her and think you might like it (plus I'm planning on reading it in September if you want to join me)

Clean Up Hitter - Hard Bitten - ok, so you have lots of series on your shelves that you have read a few books in - but this is the only one that I have actually read and recommend. There is a doozy of a cliff-hanger at the end of this one, but luckily, the next 2 books are already out

World Series - I saw that you had the The Blades of the Rose Bundle: Warrior, Scoundrel, Rebel, & Stranger on your shelf - all 4 of them are set in different countries around the world - the first in Mongolia

First and Goal - Too Hot To Touch** - you seem to have a lot of contemporary romances (as well as paranormals on your shelf) and this one looks interesting - I've been meaning to read it

Friday Night Lights - The Perks of Being a Wallflower** - this movie is going to be out later on this month, and I'm hoping to get it read in September as well, if you want to join me (if my copy from the library ever comes in)

Touchdown - Daughter of Smoke and Bone - I rarely give out 5 stars but this is one of the few I have so far this year - I hope you enjoy it as much as I do

Super Bowl - Immortally Yours** - ok, so I haven't read this one because it just came out - but the blurb drew my attention and since you like PNR, maybe you'll like this one too.

Hopefully there is something here that works for you ;) If not, let me know.

message 273: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Thanks for the great picks Carrie.
I will definitely read Mine Till Midnight and Pleasure of a Dark Prince.

I haven't read Charlene Harris or Patricia Briggs because I have a first person pet peeve. Thanks anyway.

layla is a picky reader | 667 comments Hi Rachel (Goodbye Borders)! I hope you find something you'll like amongst my picks.

Baseball - From Your To-Read (or Similar Unread) Shelf

#Home Run
Destined for an Early Grave by Jeaniene Frost - JF is one of your favourite authors and it seemed like you've enjoyed the series very much so far. Here it is book #4. Hopefully it gets better and better!

#Field of Dreams
Tempt Me at Twilight by Lisa Kleypas - This series is one of my favourites and I really liked Poppy's story. She's very funny and I loved her relationship with her husband.

#Clean up Hitter
Goddess of Legend by P.C. Cast - Wow, you've read all the books from the series except for King's Arthur love story. Why don't you give it a try?

#World Series
Firelight by Kristen Callihan - The Darkest London is a recently released series and it's already very famous amongst historical & steampunk book lovers. This book is the first one, you could say it's a grittier version of the Beauty and the Beast tale. I absolutely loved the hero!

Destined for an Early Grave (Night Huntress, #4) by Jeaniene Frost Tempt Me at Twilight (The Hathaways, #3) by Lisa Kleypas Goddess of Legend (Goddess Summoning, #7) by P.C. Cast Firelight (Darkest London, #1) by Kristen Callihan

Football - From My Shelves or New to You

#First and Goal
A Soldier's Duty by Jean Johnson - You already had it on your TBR but you haven't read anything by this author. This one I've recently stumbled upon and I was immediately hooked, I can't wait for the next one. It's about a precog that sees three centuries ahead the destruction of the Galaxy, of the humanity. She puts things in motion to stop it.

#Friday Night Lights
The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa - I noticed that you don't shy away from YA's so, here it is one of the best I've read. Allison Sekemoto is one of the best written kickass YA heroine that I've had the pleasure to "meet".

#Touchdown
Naked in Death by J.D.Robb - I am surprised that you haven't read anything from this series yet. This book is the start to a very looong (but awesome!) series that enfolds Eve's and Roarke's relationship. *sigh* Together they are your ideal couple.

#Super Bowl
Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake - Ghosts. Blood. Gore. Intrigued yet? No? How about: Ghost. Forbidden Love. Witty Hero. Convinced?

A Soldier's Duty (Theirs Not to Reason Why, #1) by Jean Johnson The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1) by Julie Kagawa Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake

Pollyanna (polly8) | 300 comments Hey Elke here are your picks:

Baseball:
Home Run: Riding Wild by Jaci Burton a new series for you as you have read Play by Play
Field of Dreams: Once Bitten by Trina M. Lee a paranormal romance for you
Clean up Hitter: Double Time by Olivia Cunning You read the last one in June 2011 and you seemed to enjoy the first 2.
World Series: Ralph's Party by Lisa Jewell one of the oldest on your tbr and if you fancy reading this I am up for a buddy read :)

Football:
First and Goal: Watermelon by Marian Keyes I thought I'd recommend Keyes, she is one of my fave authors and a great chick lit writer. This is the first in the Walsh sister series and they really make me chuckle, love the sister's mum.

Friday Night Lights: Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris As a paranormal fan I was quite surprised this wasn't on your list, of course this has been turned into the TV show True Blood. It is a good series from the first book, personally I think it starts to get great from book 3.

Touchdown: The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong I still need to get the 2nd book in this series because it did end on a cliffhanger. I found this book hard to put down.

Super Bowl: Flat-Out Sexy by Erin McCarthy The first in the Fast Track series, I read this book last month as a buddy read and gave it 4 stars, very steamy.

Hope you find something you like there Elke I had fun looking through your shelves, happy reading.

Lauren (laurenjberman) Hi Debbie,
Here are your picks:

Home Run: 16 Lighthouse Road by Debbie MacComber. You have read many of her books and rated them quite high, so I thought she might be one of your favorites.

field of Dreams: Beyond the Highland Mist by karen Marie Moning. This one is on your TBR and it is a promising beginning to a great series.

Clean Up Hitter: Kiss of Crimson by Lara Adrian. This is an amazing series and the second is even better than the first.

World Series: Blood on Silk by Marie Treanor. Excellent series - this one takes place in Hungary and Scotland.

First & Goal: Assassin's Honor by Monica Burns. New to you author - wonderful series.

Friday Night Lights: Angels Fall by Nora Roberts. Made into a movie.

Touchdown: The Surgeon by Tess Gerritsen. 5 Star read!

Superbowl: Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs. Next in a series that you have read.

Hope you enjoy!

D.G. | 4477 comments Hi Mandy!

Picking for you was HARD! We don't consistently agree in the books we like/don't like so I really have NO CLUE what kind of books you enjoy. I also read that you don't seem to like mysteries, which I read a lot AND I usually give several choices per categories so it was difficult to sticking with only one. Anyways, all I can say is that at least there are several selections below from your To Read Shelf so hopefully there's something you like. I've read 6 of them and really liked them so I hope you do too!

Home Run (Favorite author and recent addition): Where Dreams Begin by Lisa Kleypas - I see you've enjoyed previous books by LK. This is one of my favorites so I hope you enjoy it as well.

Field of Dreams (PNR/"To Read Own" Exclusive Shelf): Desire Untamed by Pamela Palmer - You already own this book so maybe this is all the impetus you need to read it.

Clean Up Hitter (next book in series you have enjoyed:) Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh. Please continue this series! It's definitely among my favorites EVER and I see you really liked the first book. This author does such an amazing job at combining a different romance in each book while having an overall arc that continues throughout the series. This book in particular is somewhat similar to the first but #3 is awesome and you'll see the start of the conflict between the Psy and the Changelings.

World Series (set outside the US and in TBR for a while): The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. Definitely not set in the US or any country that we know. I loved this fantasy book, a great combination of adventure and non stop action.

First and Goal (New genre): Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. It doesn't seem you read much sci-fi so I'm recommending you one of my favorites. It's really great!

Friday Night Lights (Being made into a movie): Fifty Shades...just kidding! Supposedly this is going to be made into a movie...go figure! Anyways, this is a very difficult category for me because I didn't want to recommend you a book I didn't like/or that you wouldn't like because it's being made into a movie. So trolling about the other posts, I saw that On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves was recommended in this category. I haven't read it yet but I heard it's great.

Touchdown (5-star): Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor - This was my first 5-star read of the year, a great combination of genres with really beautiful language.

Super Bowl (Book I loved from a series): Hexed by Kevin Hearne. You liked the first book...it's time to continue!

Where Dreams Begin by Lisa Kleypas Desire Untamed (Feral Warriors, #1) by Pamela Palmer Visions of Heat (Psy-Changeling, #2) by Nalini Singh The Lies of Locke Lamora (Gentleman Bastard, #1) by Scott Lynch Ready Player One by Ernest Cline On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor Hexed (Iron Druid Chronicles, #2) by Kevin Hearne

Vi | 2795 comments HI Tiffany,

It was fun going through your shelves. We don't have that much books/authors in common In a way, picking for you was difficult and easy. Easy because I had a list of my favorites to recommend but difficult because I was not sure if you'd really like them. I love doing multiple recs and it was difficult limiting myself to 1. If you don't like any of the recs, let me know. I'll be happy to repick!

Baseball

Home Run: The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan - I noticed you've liked other books by Riordan. I loved this book and this was my intro to the author. If you've liked the other books, then I'm sure you'll love this too!

Field of Dreams:The Rose Garden by Susanna Kearsley - Okay, so it's cheating. It's not on your TBR but Kearsley is one of my favorite authors. All her books involve stories twined with different timelines but this book has actual time-travel. It's a really good romance.

Clean Up Hitter: Shiver of Fear by Roxanne St. Claire - You've liked the first book in the series. I've heard good things about this author. Maybe you should continue the series?

World Series: Mistress of Rome by Kate Quinn - It's definitely not taking place in US. I've not read it and I'm open to buddy-reading if you're interested.

The Lost Hero (Heroes of Olympus, #1) by Rick Riordan The Rose Garden by Susanna Kearsley Shiver of Fear (The Guardian Angelinos, #2) by Roxanne St. Claire Mistress of Rome (Rome, #1) by Kate Quinn

Football

First and Goal: Ashfall by Mike Mullin - I know this is on your TBR but this was one of the best post-apocalyptic book I've read.

Friday Night Lights: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson - I haven't read this either but I've heard rave reviews about it.

Touchdown: Angels' Blood by Nalini Singh - So I didn't read this book for the first time this year. The fifth book is coming out in a week and I noticed this in my e-reader during a queue. I was planning to skim but I ended up re-reading not only this book but all the four books. I just love this series. Since you seem to like Singh's PNR series, I think you'll like this as well.

Super Bowl: On the Edge by Ilona Andrews - I'm a big fan of Ilona Andrews. You seem to love PNR and while I really want to suggest Magic Bites, maybe you should start with this first and then move on to Magic Bites which is pure UF.

Ashfall (Ashfall, #1) by Mike Mullin The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1) by Stieg Larsson Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter, #1) by Nalini Singh On the Edge (The Edge, #1) by Ilona Andrews

Happy Reading, Tiffany!

Thanks for the great picks! You did an awesome job!! I'm very interested in reading all of the books especially the Ibbotson.

Re the Quinn book - I've read all her books. I didn't realize I hadn't updated it in my shelf. I'll go update it now.

Great work, Julie!

I'm so glad you like them, Vi!

My other choice for the Super Bowl pick (where I put the Julia Quinn book) was going to be one of the Outlander series, and you've already got book 2 of that series in your TBR soon shelf, so you're a step ahead of me.

I also have a question for you - I noticed you like Susanna Kearsley. Which of her books is your favorite? I've been meaning to read her for a while.

Erin (erin-b) Hi, Sassafrass! Here are your picks. I had a good time looking through your shelves and I hope you can find something here that you want to read this month. If there's nothing you're in the mood for, let me know and I can pick again.

Baseball - From Their To-Read (or Similar Unread) Shelf:
Home Run: Kissin' Tell by Lorelei James. You seem to have enjoyed the rest of this series very much, so perhaps the next book will be equally as enjoyable.

Field of Dreams: Bunny and the Bear by Eve Langlais. Someone recommended this to me earlier this year for this challenge and I loved it. A really fun book with entertaining characters and lots of laughs.

Clean Up Hitter: Chasing Bliss by Sophie Oak. You gave 5 stars to the rest of this series and this next entry gets an equally high GR rating.

World Series: Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters. I loved the heroine in this one, and its a fun historic cozy mystery story. The audiobook was also enjoyable as I recall.

Football - From Your Shelves or New to Them:

First and Goal: Fury by Laurann Dohner. I picked this up on a whim last month and ended up devouring the entire series. Book 8 just came out yesterday too.

Friday Night Lights: Persuasion by Jane Austen. One of my all-time favorite books, and the movie (or possibly it was a BBC mini-series, I forget) that came out a few years ago was good too.

Touchdown: Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde. I'm a big fan of Jasper Fforde's two other series so my sister recommended this one to me and I loved it. A hilarious take on a post-apocalyptic society in which your ability to see a particular color defines your social position. The main character is sent to the fringes after attempting to set up a new system of queuing in his hometown and discovers that all is not well with the collective.

Super Bowl: Naked in Death by J.D. Robb. Another personal favorite, you have read a few of the other books in this series and rated them highly, so why not see where it all began?

Kissin' Tell (Rough Riders, #13) by Lorelei James Bunny and the Bear (Furry United Coalition, #1) by Eve Langlais Chasing Bliss (Nights in Bliss, Colorado, #7) by Sophie Oak Crocodile on the Sandbank (Amelia Peabody #1) by Elizabeth Peters Fury (New Species, #1) by Laurann Dohner Persuasion by Jane Austen Shades of Grey (Shades of Grey, #1) by Jasper Fforde Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. First and Goal-The Dragonbone Chair by Tad Williams

Friday Night Lights-Emma by Jane Austen

Sue (knitwitsl) | 226 comments Jojo,

It was fun going through your shelves! Here are your picks. Please let me know if I need to redo any of them.

Home Run:
I'm glad I went back and double-checked my recommendations because I was going to recommend the only Nora Roberts on your list that you haven't read, and it's not released yet! So, going back to your list, I picked Rescue Me by Rachel Gibson. You have a lot of hers that you enjoyed, and this one was just released in May!

Field of Dreams:
You Slay Me by Katie MacAlister is a funny paranormal book that I think you would enjoy.

Clean Up Hitter:
No Mercy by Sherrilyn Kenyon. This is the 15th in the Dark Hunter Series, and since you finished the 14th back in October, it’s a good time to pick it up again!

World Series:
Lost in a Good Book by Jasper Fforde. I see you’ve read the first one in the series and liked it, and I think this whole series is wonderfully fun!

First and Goal:
Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews. I just love this series and I see you have not read any by this author yet.

Friday Night Lights:
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. I thought it had a slow start, but was worth reading.

Touchdown:
I rarely rate a book 5 stars (I’m not sure why), and the only one this year is the latest in the Kate Daniels series. So, here is a four star book I read this year and really enjoyed. First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones.

Super Bowl:
Urban Shaman by C.E. Murphy. The first in the Walker Papers series. You have it on your tbr pile and since it looks like you like some paranormal with strong females I think you would enjoy this series.

LOL, not schizophrenic at all! I'm sure you have perfect good reasons for your ratings. I was just surprised that in some cases we completely agree (like with "The Perfect Play"...I had a blast reading your review and that spoiler, LOLOLOLOL!) but in other cases, our ratings were the complete opposite!

Anyhow, I hope you enjoy Daughter of Smoke & Bone. I floved that book and I'm on tenterhooks waiting for the sequel that later this year. :)

thanks for your amazing picks. I know how hard it is to stick to just one per category. I'm tempted to say I can't find anything and let you do it again!! (Just kidding LOL)I'm having a hard time just sticking to 2 picks, but unfortunately that's all I can do this month.
I will be reading BONDS OF JUSTICE for another challenge, so good choice! I would love to read Riveted, but I'm not sure I can get it. Also, the Cindy Gerrard and Julie Garwood books look amazing, but I have City of Bones on my Kindle, so I'll start there.
Anyway, my picks from each group are:

Baseball picks
Sex, Lies and Vampires
Sex, Lies and Vampires (Dark Ones, #3) by Katie MacAlister

Football picks
City of Bones
City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments Gea: I'm a newbie, so I hope I did alright. Here are your picks:

Looking through I see I've done a LOT of erotic books, it may be obvious that I love those. If you need me to re-pick, just let me know.

***Baseball:****
Home Run: My Liege of Dark Haven--Cherise Sinclair is a favorite author of yours (and mine) and this one just came out. I thought you'd enjoy this one.

Field of Dreams: Slave to Sensation--I know you've read the Guild Hunter series but not Psy-changelings. I'm just the opposite, but I've loved this series and I think you would like reading a different type of Nalini Singh Book.

Clean Up Hitter: Colters' Daughter--It looked like you liked the other two books in the series, so I figured finishing it out would be good.

World Series: Royally Bedded, Regally Wedded--just a guess on this one to be honest, but you had it on your TBR.

***Football:***
First and Goal: Lovely Wicked--Kari Gregg is an amazing author. This book really blew me away. Here writing is dark and intense, but is along the same lines of some of the other books you've read.

Friday Night Lights: The Hunger Games--I know there's a lot of hype surrounding this series, but it really lives up to the hype. It's young adult but really addresses some grown up issues. I think you'd like it.

Touchdown: Talk to Me--this was the first book I've read by Cassandra Carr, but it was a great read and made me an instant fan!

Super Bowl: Small Town Siren--I am an absolute psycho fan of Sophie Oak. She's done some standalone books but her Texas Sirens series as well as her Nights in Bliss, Colorado series are her best works by far. I hope you love them as much as I do. :)
