SOS: Serious Overload of Series discussion

Diane, the Kelloggs catergory was opened up in message 23.

In the rules, she said, In order for a series to be allowed, you cannot have read more than book #1 of that series at the time you start the challenge...

I did the same thing. At the time I signed up, I had (have) only read book #1, but am going to read more of the series, so I put later books there that will fit the challenge.

That's right. You're right, Diane, I wasn't specific enough with each category and that one was questioned by L³ in post #23. I will update the main challenge listing for everyone.

Sorry for any add'l confusion. Hard to think of all the potential questions when creating these things. :)

Welcome, Angie! Great choices, but unfortunately your choices for "childhood favorites" don't exactly fit.


My goal with that one was to get everyone to read all the books in a series about each supe. I did include the exception: "NOTE: You may choose more than one series for the options in this category. Ex: a vamp series you want to read doesn't have 5 books in it. In this case, you can list the book(s) for more than one series to complete a total of 5 books."

That was more for a series that wasn't long enough to fill the quota for each supe. So, if someone chose to read the "Night Huntress" series for "* Count Chocula - read 5 books in a series about vampires" they would have to choose one book from a different vamp series to finish off the category b/c "Night Huntress" only has 4 books out until Feb 2011. It would work the same for each of those categories under "Childhood Favorites". Does that make sense?

Same thought behind my overall rule: "In order for a series to be allowed, you cannot have read more than book #1 of that series at the time you start the challenge (unless stated otherwise in that category’s rules). However, if you are currently reading #2 that I would allow."

Hope you'll still be able to give this one a go, but if you'd rather a series clean-up challenge, we have several of those running right now as well.
