▪️I believe we all read for different reasons that we all consequently get to decide for ourselves.
▪️I personally read for entertainment and, even though I acknowledge the power a book can yield, I think sometimes a book is just a story written to be read without us having to analyze every single line or turn its content into a social argument.
▪️That's why I tend to not mix politics with what I post about or read, especially considering that the books I choose to engage with, don't necessarily define the kind of person/reader I am.
I'm also often out of the loop when it comes to controversies and authors.
▪️On the other hand, I'm more than okay about befriending people who have different opinions or tastes in books & definitely don't mind being educated on matters I might be ignorant about, as long as there's reciprocal respect and politeness. Hate and haters will be happily ignored..
