I read the book feverishly until it started to drag after they boarded the ship.
Could easily have been 100 pages shorter!!

I agree about the character of Lo being unlikeable, especially in the beginning of the book -- it almost made me put the book down. I kept wanting to shake her and straighten her out. But as the plot thickened, I was more impressed with the author's crafting of the story and its delicious confusions -- and totally impressed with the way she tied up the loose ends on the last page. This made it worth the negative feelings I had about the character.
To be fair, Lo's erratic behavior was related to her insecurities of the past, and this was an important part of why neither the security guy nor the reader is sure they can trust her story. As for the rudeness, that may have been laid on heavier than necessary.

I read the same types of books all the time. This one was a little different and I loved it! Kind of reminded me of the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for some reason. But I had trouble keeping the cruise people apart. There were several men that all ran together to me. But I don't care, I still loved it!. Curious, though. Was anyone else wanting to slap Lo when she was dragging her feet about leaving Carrie behind? I wanted to scream at her. Also I just realized this morning (I finished it last night) that it was a good thing that Lo didn't take the gun. She actually saved her own life by leaving it behind -- in a way. :)

I dislike the protagonist so much that I say, 'thank you' for the spoilers. Now I don't have to read the rest of the book!

So glad to know I am not the only person who got tired of the main characters headaches and dialogues with herself to calm down. No I did not like her but I finished the book as it was suprisingly clever. The last minute update with the Swiss money was unbelievable. Spoiled it for me. How did Carrie get money?
How do you get Lo from Laura? Disliked the short form of name.

Does anyone think that perhaps this was all Carrie's idea all along? And that she wanted Anne and Richard dead?

So we know that Carrie got away after killing Richard and pushing Ann overboard. I think we are to assume that she will continue to impersonate Ann and use her money. But how long can she do that for? Presumably Ann has family, friends, and loved ones who would definitely know that Carrie is NOT Ann. It's hard for me to imagine how she will continue to pull off the charade going forward.

No, Carrie was killed x Richard...(I think)...remember, 2 dead women were found according to the press...but she did wire the money, before Richard killed her. Anyway -- fukit ! Not a good book.

There was only two bodies total found: Anne's and Richard's. Carrie got away and transferred Lo's money for "Tigger's bounce" aka her getaway.

Carrie threw Anne overboard like she says in the book when she confesses her story to Lo while she was locked up. Even though the author wanted you to think Carrie bled out and died from the self-inflicted wound to her head, she didn't and shot and killed Richard Bullmer. Carrie ends up living (though you don't know that until the end) and transfers money to Lo's bank account in the end - which brings up 2 loose ends actually. Where did Carrie get the money from? Lo takes Anne's purse with all the money and credit cards, then forgets it on the front desk in the hotel. And don't you need a bank account number to transfer money to someone's account? Just technicalities really, but still.

There were two bodies recovered, one male and one female.
The first recovered was female and had on the vintage leather boots that belonged to Lo and her head was shaved - not naturally bald from chemo. The dead female was Carrie. She either got herself overboard to escape Richard and drowned trying to swim off or he tossed her over the side (I think he threw her overboard).
Richard's bullet to the temple was rated as self-inflicted.
Ann's body was never recovered. That makes sense as they were out in the North Sea when she was thrown overboard..maybe still alive, maybe dead.

I listened to the audio so it's too hard to go back to discover if I missed something. But whatever happened to Ben?? They just drifted apart? Did I miss something in the last few chapters? I know he was helping her but then what?? AND back to her burglary -- did they ever find the burglar?
Barbara Walters
How were Lo's boots and clothes found near Anne's body? They were on Carrie. How did Carrie get out of the locked room? Richard?
Nancie
I didn't particularly like Lo, but figured the rudeness was due, in part, to lack of sleep. She hadn't slept well since the home break in.

Ok, I thought I was the only one that did not like Lo. I started skimming through just to get to the end. It did get to be quite a tangled web. I liked the ending much more than the rest of the story.
Zeba
Confusing ending. Two dead women were found. So Ann and Carrie are dead. Who sent the money? Why are people thinking Carrie is alice when the newspapers clearly stated two women found dead one w Lo’s clothes on.
Judi Spizzirri
I'm confused. Who put the money in her account at the end?

I like Lo's character. Especially when she talks with her "inside head voice".

Carrie did get away and gave Lo SOME of the money she'd gotten from him. Not all of her money.

I like this author have read most of her books. I enjoyed that fact that each book is not a series. The ending was great!. Now on to another of her books!
Kate Lane
Ending confusing!

I am totally confused. There was a body that was found early in the book, presumably Ann's. Then 2 more bodies, so a total of 3! Or were they playing with the time sequence? I did the AUDIO so hard to go back and check dates!
