What about the news report claiming the gun belonged to Lo?
I was confused about that. Some details seemed to get wrapped up too quickly in order to finish up the story.
Carrie probably has Anne's information all along or she was hired to kill Anne in the first place and Richard had paid her before she killed him. Every one assumes that everything Carrie tells Lo is truth when it could have been fabricated. Also someone robbed Lo and had Her ID, credit cards, bank account info. Carrie probably was working with someone. Lo probably wasn't supposed to be on the boat but the robber didn't find her passport like the other passenger. Maybe the other passenger that was robbed was the backup person. Carrie needed an empty state room. Not getting Lo's passport in the robbery messed up the plans and had to rob someone else.
The news report didn't claim the gun belonged to Lo just that her clothes were wrapped around the gun and the police didn't communicate to Jude that they only had some clothes for him to identify. He thought they had a body to go with them,
Everyone knows you can't just call the bank about an unknown deposit without raising a red flag, therefore I didn't really care for the ending. A better ending would have been a check mailed to her with a note from Carrie.
Carrie had Lo's bank account information because either she or Richard or someone connected to them was the burglar in the beginning of the book who broke into Lo's flat and stole her purse. They did the same to the gentleman who was originally meant to be in Cabin 10 in an effort to ensure at least one cabin would be vacant near the end of the ship from which to dispose of Anne's body, it seems.
Where does it say that it was Richard or someone known to him that breaks into her apartment? I missed that. It makes sense, I just don't remember them saying that.
I missed that as well. I do believe the man who was supposed to be in 10 was the victim of a planned break in to his home so he would stay away. I thought maybe Lo's break in was some how related but I never read where that was related to everything.
Wow, I never thought of that, that Carrie or Richard was involved in the burglary of Lo's apt. It makes sense though, because why would the book start with that event? I thought it strange and just a random event.
The most obvious way to obtain Lo's banking information was just taking it out of Cabin 9 after locking her below. At that point they would have easy access to all her stuff. And the author made a point of saying that all her bank cards and other information had to be replaced before the cruise which took up so much time that she hadn't had time to read the press packet. Also, Carrie had been posing as Anne, thus needed all of her ID to get on and off at various ports. Carrie told Lo where the purse was and the all the ID was inside, but that she had no idea what the pins were for the credit cards.
