Yes, the moment I finished it I thought that the Carrie character reminded me of the main tough girl character in Girl w/Dragon Tattoo.
I agree. I just finished it and The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo immediately came to mind. I also had the same thought about Lo leaving the gun behind.
