I highlight occasionally. My husband and I do a lot of reading and if I really liked a book but think he may not read it, I highlight passages I think he might enjoy.

I love highlighting and taking notes while reading. It's like having a conversation with yourself and imaginary characters, but people don't look at you weird.

For a time I wouldn't highlight, but now I do, especially when a good saying is quoted, or if I want to imagine the scene my way I will highlight and redo a scene how I'd like it to be.

Hehe ... Got a Kindle Paperwhite as a Gift and am enjoying reading books in that ;) ... haven't done highlighting and stuff yet .... and stick to stories for most part ... as I don't have a sense of reading academic books there on ... as yet :| But reading experience is definitely a lot better laptop, desktop, smartphone or tablet ;)

I previously answered this poll and I had to change my answer. I never used to highlight in my Kindle but now, I probably make at least one highlight in each book.

I like to highlight when i read. I do this in my paper books as well as my kindle. There are so many beautiful passages, quotes, and phrases they deserve highlighting.

I don't highlight or mark anything in novels ever, except for maybe writing my name inside the cover. But I do occasionally highlight scripture in my Bible app that I use on my tablet.

I don't often use my Kindle, but I do find myself making notes of important events or prophecies so I can easily find them, but I like to highlight good words or phrases. I used to keep a list of wonderful words, but I've kind of stopped, and I don't think I ever added all of the words I highlighted... Maybe I'll start it again.

No highlighting since I did in nursing school...but I do make notes, especially in books like ONCE UPON A RIVER with multiple characters.

I like using it on my kindle app for character descriptions or things I think are important. I write notes where there are errors.

Haha ... True ... Highlighting is a good feature. Somehow I find reading on the system easier since the reader screen makes more turns needed than system :( Also, holding it is difficult ... planning to get a stand for it :P

I love highlighting and then sharing those highlights. It's the best part of kindle books, that you can always search for the popular highlights.

I'm currently reading Les Misérables on Kindle and I highlight something almost every time I pick it up. There are several really good lines in there that I want to be able to go through and find later. I've even color-coded it according to whether I find it funny, sad, generally pretty, or significant to the storyline in some way--and I also add notes (mostly lyrics from the musical or "#Pontmercying").

I do not always hi light, but I do when I’m reading a book I am enjoying. If I happen to find a paragraph or a sentence interesting then I hi light.

The only ebook I have highlighted is my bible...YouVersion. Otherwise, my books are rainbow-colored with points worth noting. Any quotes are highlighted in yellow.

In my e-books, you'll definitely see it more 'marked up' as compared to any physical copies I have.
When reading a book physically, I'll underline or star a paragraph with a pencil very lightly. Also, I'd do it as least as possible, usually it would be quotes that I want to remember or a very specific scene.
