I know! 😭 And now we've lost Meat Loaf
Meat Loaf today, and last year his collaborator, Jim Steinman. Ouch. And, next day: Thích Nhất Hạnh. God rest these souls.
Mary Higgins Clark passed away in January 2020, sadly. I have removed her book Where are the Children? from this list.
Yikes! I'm not sure how I mistook Clark for 2022. I swear she came up on a list of recently deceased authors, lol.
@Rainbowheart and EmilyMary Higgins Clark was there again with A Stranger Is Watching, so I removed it.
Doris Gwaltney passed away Dec 27 2021. I have removed her books from this list. I don't think her death was widely reported until the first week of January or later, so it may have appeared like it was 2022.
I'm out of votes, so if anyone else wants to add them, here are more recent losses.Orrin Hatch, Huntley Fitzpatrick, Rolando Hinojosa, and Steven Heighton
James Bama, the great cover artist of the 1960s-1980s Doc Savage (Bantam) paperbacks and Western USA art and portraiture.
Michael Preute writing Eifel crime novels as Jacques Berndorf is a recent loss. Quite known in the german regional crime sector (there's even an award named after him, but not sure if that is one valid for GR)
Uri Orlev, Charlotte Pomerantz, Nichelle Nichols, Stuart Woods, Diana Kennedy, Susie Steiner, Frank Moorhouse, and Elspeth Barker are some more.
Joan Lingard, Olivia Newton-John, Elana Dykewomon, Melissa Bank, Jeanne Steig, David McCullough, Albert Woodfox, Stuart Briscoe, Eric Flint, Ivana Trump, Jim Trelease, Jean Illsley Clarke, and James E. Lovelock are additional losses.

Rainbowheart wrote: "Patricia A. McKillip, popular fantasy author. :("Oh, I didn't know. 8( She's one of those authors I always wanted to read more. Oddly, the book I best remember by her is one of her more atypical titles, "The House on Parchment Street." I had it as a library discard and read it several times when I was younger.
Rainbowheart wrote: "Joan Lingard, Olivia Newton-John, Elana Dykewomon, Melissa Bank, Jeanne Steig, David McCullough, [author..."Elana Dykewomon is still listed as a GR Author. Could you report her death to Support (including a link to an obituary) so they can remove that status and add the death date?
R.I.P. Coolio. Gangsta's Paradise was everywhere in the '90s.I'll let support know about Elana Dykewomon.
I have been going through and reporting a few Goodreads Authors' accounts on this list to Support. The Goodreads Author Bushra Rahmani
https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
has the same name as a Pakistani politician and novelist who died this year at the age of 77. She did not have any English-language books that I can find. I think the person that added the Goodreads Author's book made an understandable mistake, so I have removed the book from this list.
Jerry Lee Lewis has died. Refer to and share to a list as well, at https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...Vince Dooley has died, longtime coach and athletic director of the University of Georgia Bulldogs. He became a prolific author in retirement, a gardener, too. Refer to and share to this Georgia Bulldogs list at https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

Would it be ok if we switched the title to Dead in 2022: The Authors We Lost so it would match up with the titles for other years?
