Much of this book is difficult to read because of the subject matter; everything being related took place at a very dark time in history. However, I found that the prose flowed in a way that carried the story forward and kept my interest throughout. I became engrossed in these characters' stories. Once again I find myself reading another book based around Aushwitz and the concentration camps. The story is about Lyle and Gita and their lives within the camp, Birkenau.
I found myself not exactly connecting with the story. I have heard and read other reviews saying a lot of the historical parts were not correct.
