As if The Wizard of Oz took place in the Stranger Things' Upside Down. In London. Gothic creepy isn't my favorite genre, but this was well written and fairly entertaining. My favorite bit of clever was having "Mind the Gap," London's ubiquitous Tube station warning, take on dire overtones because the gap is a portal from the Underworld. Suddenly that warning makes perfect sense. If you're particularly fond of London or spooky stories give this a try. Otherwise it would be OK to miss.
