Claudine's House is the one on the list. I am not sure for sure, but according to Goodreads, It's not part of the same series you are reading. But obviously it's related with the Colette's most popular character.
BTW, I loved the Colette movie that came out last year.

The non-linear organization did have me confused but as Christopher said it soon clicked together. I was amazed, disturbed, and even tattered by the end of this book. The content is something that will be with me for a long time. It's very well written and thought out. All the characters are so different from each other but yet they all stitch together so well.
I found that I had a hard time putting it down.
George, Yes I did my part to move it up on the Women of the 1001 list, the 1001 list itself, and the Best Books Ever list.
I didn't vote to read this book, but I am thankful that so many of you did.

108. Possessing the Secret of Joy by Alice Walker
109. A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce
110. Tess of the D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy
111. Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

haha true.. I know what you mean, but (view spoiler)

I like that. There were quite a few "tempests" going on in this book. And yet there was no tempest like one would expect on a book about crossing the ocean. All the conflict came in an unexpected way. I think quite a discussion could be had about all the "tempests" brewing on the inside of each of the characters.
I liked this book over all, I just couldn't say that I loved it. I enjoyed the anticipation of what was going to happen with the parson. I actually liked when the POV changed and we got to read the letter from Colley. That was probably my favorite part of this book; when we were able to get that perspective then shift back to Talbot again.
I also am not compelled to read the other two books. Not enough of a draw to pull me away from the rest of the LIST.

I have that book on loan from the library and keep renewing it. Seems nobody else wants it. Not sure how much longer I can do this.. ha!
But I keep it on my desk and reference it every time I start and/or finish a LIST book.
It's my "bible." And like The Bible, I don't think I could read it cover to cover.
