I just started
Martin Eden by
Jack London. I think I am going to enjoy this one.

I just finished
The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by
Tom Wolfe. What a trip! And I mean that exactly like Wolfe, Kesey, Leary, and Garcia would have meant it. Wolfe did an excellent job writing this book as if he were actually tripping.

I picked up
The Quiet American by
Graham Greene. My neighborhood book club is doing Author rounds in which each member has to pick a book by the same author. The first round was Stephen King. I think I will be picking Graham Greene when it's my round.

I remember feeling very apprehesive about it and what the librarian might think. But nothing was ever said. If I was ever redflagged for it, nothing ever came of it. And if it was going to happen it would have happened to me.
Funny Story...
It just so happens that the book was in my trunk (so nobody would see it) to be returned and I was involved in a weather-related vehicile accident that put a large hole in my trunk making it no longer water proof. The book was totally destroyed in the following days and I ended up paying for it and never turning it in. If there's a list out there, I'm on the "checked out and kept" part of it. ha!!

Just finished
Zorba the Greek by
Nikos Kazantzakis. Zorba made me laugh and cry. I loved this one.

Finally got to start another LIST book.
Zorba the Greek by
Nikos Kazantzakis. I am enjoying this so far.

This book amazed me and frustrated me at the same time. It really was all over the place. But I loved that aspect. I felt like I was in the midst of chaos almost always even while I knew what was going on at any given moment. The over all feel of the thing was epic and intense. In the end I felt overwhelmed and confused probalby due to the unfinished nature I felt from it in combination of the chaotic nature. I loved the story I was currently invested in. But when things moved on I looked back at what I had previously read with some dissapointment.
What I am trying to say, is that I don't know what to say.

I just finished the epic adventure that was
Kristin Lavransdatter by
Sigrid Undset. I loved the story, but the abundance of characters made it sometimes hard to follow.
Vikki wrote: "I just finished "East of Eden." Really enjoyed it, it was a favorite of my fathers."My wife just finished it. I almost started it. Then I realized it's not a LIST book. Probably one of those that should be. I keep hearing about it.

I think we could almost have an entire thread on the books that mention Don Quixote.

and my pleasure. I've been having a good time going through your list.

1315 is the right number.

Here is the other one that's giving you two too many.
627 Mrs. 'Arris Goes to Paris Gallico, Paul 3.779431 157 <--
842 Mrs Harris Goes to Paris & Mrs Harris Goes to New York Gallico, Paul 3.659763 305
Only the first one is on the list. the second one is a two-book combo and Mrs. Harris Goes to New York is not on the list.
