My own take....MOBY isn't done. The publisher was pressuring Diana by announcing a release date and Diana isn't having any of it. Of course the publisher wants it out there as soon as possible because they want the $$$ but Diana doesn't give a fig about that. This is their way of capitulating without looking like they are doing so.

I see that Amazon has changed the release date to March 25th....boohoo.

I will have to order a signed one from the Poisoned Pen and than get both the Kindle and Audio version."Donna, they are taking pre-orders. Diana lives here so they know they will get them signed.

They show a December 10th release date also.

I first noticed the December 10th date on the BEA website but Diana poo-pooed it. I do think that's the publisher's target date. Now EW is also saying December. She is getting close to being done because she wouldn't be going to BEA to promote a book that's not coming out pretty darn soon. I'm going to NY and hope to lay my hands on a galley.

Yes, I went last year and loved it. For me, the best part was the author panels...they had some really big names which surprised me but several people have told me that the Tucson festival is one of the most respected. I'm sure it doesn't hurt that the weather in March is perfect.

BEA is Book Expo America, the annual publishing convention in NYC
http://tucsonfestivalofbooks.org/Are you local to Tucson Ladyhawk?

I don't but if there are advance copies available you can bet I'll be grabbing one.

Just heard that Diana is one of the authors on the panel at the adult author breakfast at BEA on June 1st. I bought my ticket! I think I'll be seeing her at the Tucson Book Festival again in March. I never get tired of listening to her talk about her books.

Russia was nothing like I thought it would be. It reminded me of upstate New York. But yes, it was beautiful. The town of Pushkin was unbelievable...manicured lawns and flowers everywhere...they do love their poet. I could see (in my mind) Tatiana sitting on a bench in St Petersburg in that dress! We drove past The Summer Garden....I wish we had the chance to visit it.
I would love also to take an Outlander tour of Scotland...maybe in a year or two. Lisa, I can't wait to hear about your experience.

Ah yes, the frustration of The Bronze Horseman...lol. This series will have you on an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. I just returned from a two week trip to Russia and it was Paulina Simons that made me want to go...I guess that is a bit of testimonial. I got to see (and cruise) Lake Ladoga, and saw The Bronze Horseman statue, the Field of Mars and many other places that are mentioned in the books. Alas, I did not meet Alexander...lol.

I am thinking about reading this series.
Kushiel's Dart It seems to have all the makings of an Outlander (well, as close as one can get anyway), epic series, romance, fantasy, etc etc. There are 9 books in the series. Any comments for or against?

@ Emily
I agree with you on Wicked Lovely and I just started His Majesty's Dragon on audio...Simon Vance is the narrator...wonderful so far. I will have to try some of your other recommendations...I find the Fitzwilliam Darcy trilogy especially enticing.

Has anyone here read
Gabriel's Inferno ? A friend recommended it to me.
Sue wrote: "Janet I'm surprised you didn't like ADOW. What didn't you like about it? One of my favorites. Way different from Outlander and TBH, but still thought it was great!!"I didn't think it had much of a plot. Diana started out as a strong, intelligent woman but then when she fell in love with Matthew, she just sort of switched to teenage like adoration. The two things I loved most about Outlander and TBH were the strong female characters and the action.

I did not care for Discovery of Witches but you (Susan) should definitely read The Bronze Horseman series. I do concur with Sue on that one. The other recommendation I would have for you, given your fascination with the Arthurian legend, is The Mists of Avalon. I listened to it on audio and Davina Porter (who narrated The Outlander series) also read this. Wonderful! Just wonderful!

I'm in the same boat. I keep longing for those series that keep me up reading all night...lol....but they are few and far between.
