89768 OK I just sent out the final revised novel "The Agreement" to everyone who volunteered to be line editors! I'm asking for any typos and spelling mistakes or grammatical errors. We have several eyes on so it will be interesting to see what we all miss and what we catch in common!

Thanks again to everyone for your help. You will see several new sections in this final draft. There is a dungeon party, an extension to the first charity fundraiser, another scene at the end and tying up some loose ends that people noted. I hope I took all your suggestions into consideration but if I missed anything, please feel free to remind me in an email.

Now, I am going to attack Dominion and I'm not going to even THINK about The Agreement until I get all your comments back.

Eve should have refused to live with either Michel or Julien until they promised to have her cats come live with her too.

Thank you! Yes, I thought I mentioned somewhere that Eve's cats were being looked after by VASILY or something...

No problem - just want to keep things really general on the thread. But I seriously appreciate the feedback and corrections!

Thanks, Alisa -- but could you keep spoilers off the thread and send me a Private message with any corrections? Thanks!
Blog Tour (2 new)
Mar 13, 2013 08:09PM

89768 So, it's often common for authors to have blog tours instead of book tours. I have been thinking of doing my own and am looking for blogs to 'tour' whatever that means! If you can think of a blog that would be appropriate or are willing to contact blog owners you know who host these kinds of events, I would be forever in your debt. <3

Of course, Brandy! I'd love to have you as a beta reader for the revised version!

Have to revise Dominion first ... THEN I get to work on Resurrection ... ;)

89768 I guess, when you look at the big picture, you read in a genre and of a type of book because you enjoy it and once one book is finished, you want more, but with a unique take or different voice or fresh characters or twists. But you still want to read that genre with its particular elements, or else you'd move to a different genre. I hope TA is unique enough to satisfy and similar enough that people get what they are looking for when reading an erotic contemp romance with a bit of kink.

Thanks Charlene -- glad you felt it was unique enough to be of value!

Thanks Wendy -- just a few jitters before the book is released. I was freaking out before I released Retribution, afraid it sucked and I just didn't realize it! Anytime you put anything out there in public, you're afraid... I just wanted to hear what others felt about the issue. I think from what my other beta readers have said, there are similarities as you said because of genre and topic. Those can't be avoided.

89768 There's no way to get around the fact that this is a novel with a female novice submissive and a male Dominant. That's the point I guess. I think most of the main aspects of the story are different -- those who have read will know the points of departure. In your view, are the similarities enough to warrant accusations of copyng / turn others off from TA?
Mar 12, 2013 05:24PM

89768 OK just got some feedback from a beta reader. Her one critique was that there were too many similarities in the book - I take it she means to other novels of its kind. So a quick brainstorm. What parts are too close to other novels of its kind? I will cogitate on how to make it more unique. Don't need to be accused of doing a hack job knock off...

89768 OK I got my quota of beta readers for the line edit. What I need is a line by line check for typos and spelling. It is also a last chance for any big boo boos. If all goes well, I can just do a once-over and correct any mistakes and then I can get it ready for eBook and print and order proofs. Then, it's time to start generating buzz for the release date.

Thanks guys for helping! YOU ROCK!
Mar 12, 2013 03:37PM

89768 OK. My plan is to have all revisions done by Friday and send this baby to those who are willing to do a very close line edit. If you want to help, send me a message or email. As incentive, I'll send you a print book on e they are ready! I hope to get the line edits done by the 31st and then formatting and proofing and published by the 11th or 15th whichever works out. Are you in?

Thanks so much for your comments, Katya! I will keep that in mind as I revise Dominion. More Julien for sure, and I will include a bit more D/s with Michel but towards the end so that it's a bit more established as an idea before anything really intense happens. As to the threesome... I will think on it. (view spoiler) But ours can, as far as any of us want them to go.

Thanks again and if you have any more thoughts, I would be glad to hear them. Once the revision is done I will send it to people for a response so if you want in, I will send it once it's done.
