Except, what does everyone think about this cover? Yellow or too much orange?

Flying the Nest"
More Orange than Yellow, for me!
I know we don't have to use TinEye, but it also says 55% Orange

I will most likely be updating the master spreadsheet daily (sometimes even sooner given how addicted to GoodReads I am. Sheesh!), so you certainly will have an idea as to how we are progressing.
Plus, either Tina or I will be posting regular updates of our progress and where we are headed. So, hopefully we'd all be on the same page throughout the challenge.

Please request access to this spreadsheet, which is our tracking and planning spreadsheet where we can list the details of all our books (completed and forthcoming).
You can read any book you want.
All you have to do is mention all relevant details i.e. author name, character names, location etc. that work for these alphabets E, F, H, I, K, N, O, P, S, T, V, and Z

All the southern hemispherer's, stop showing off and making the others jealous! LOL! :P

The beach was great! It was busy with people but we got to see a puffer fish at night in the water. I have no idea what it was doing there though. Small fish yes, but not puffers. I'm just glad jelly fish aren't here"
I'm actually not a summer person - very much in love with winter and the cold. But there is something about the summers Down Under that just look cool.
And I'm especially glued to all things Australia this time of the year, because whatever sports I follow all are headed that way. Haha.
Ah! Puffer Fishes randomly strolling on the beaches - only in Australia! Haha! :P

Brownies actually do come out pretty week in a pressure cooker. So glad you made them and they turned out well. I'm sure your folks at home completely forgot about the mess after eating through scrumptious brownies.
... ummm, who am I kidding? Indian fams! You better get up and clean that thing no matter what! LOL! :P

In regard to our colour cards are we claiming them specifically in the Feb hands so we don't waste a colour cover book? eg I have a blue that will suit a few things but if someone else has a blue that will only do one Feb card we should use that shouldn't we? I might add this book is not one I'm keen to read but will for the team when it's needed."
Totally agree with you that we don't want to waste a color cover book.
But as I mentioned in the first posts, we don't have to claim them! If a book you're reading does fit in, absolutely mention that and so we can make sure it that is used accordingly.
But, of course, we can have folks claim certain colored books if they so choose. As long as you're sure you'll read the book anytime throughout the month, it was be easy to put your name in front of it.
My intention and/or hope is not to bog anyone down with a specific set of books, because then it becomes less fun and more work.
There will be a time towards the end of the month wherein some of us might have to squeeze in a crazy V or an I book to complete a hand but it really more the most part is read what you like to kind of challenge.
So, I thoroughly appreciate you willing to take one for the team, if need be! :D Go, champ!

Elisabeth, you really need to stop having so much fun! :P

Here are some more questions and answers that may help in understanding the game the little better. Special appreciation for those who after reading all this, could still come up with questions which are not being answered anywhere. Haha!
(This is also cross posted in Message 6 at the beginning of this thread, so that future generations are not lost! :P)
General Questions

Oooo... what fun receipes are you cooking, Vanessa?
Cooking is sooooo much fun. I'm so glad you're interest in it is growing!
...and now I'm hungry... again! *sigh*

Ummm... please don't make people who are shivering in the cold jealous! :P
I am going to vicariously live through you now, Tina. Haha!
Those Australian beaches! Ah!
Soak in all the sun you can.
#Jealous

Haha! This week before the start of the challenge tends to be a major dead space because many folks are trying to either complete their current reads or getting other stuff out of the way - atleast I am! LOL!

Everyone else, do take a peek and see if I have got yours right.
If not, let me know! :)

Sorry I'm a little late to the game, I wasn't getting any notifications from this (will have to check my settings) so was unaware I was added to a team! Thanks Apoorv for messaging me and..."
Welcome, Paris! :D
Super glad that you made it here.
I can understand that things might get overwhelming. If it may help, I tried adding some relevant pointers in the first few messages on this thread. Do check them if you can, so that you'll have a brief idea of what is coming your way.
If you still have questions, feel absolutely free to type them out there. We will all help each other out. (See, how I'm spreading my work first to the co-caps, and now to everyone else. Smart! :P)
Also, I need to read Girl, Woman, Other now. Love that its on your list. How many books do I want to gobble down at a time?! I wish I had 6 heads and 38 hands. Alas!
Anyway, you guys have 3 months to listen to my woes! Will let you all marinate first. LOL!
In the meanwhile, Paris, look around. Here to answer any questions! :)

I am practically an owl, so I'll be around for the most part. :P
Plus we have Tina and Jill who know everything. So, we're gooooood. :)
Quick follow-up on the details on the spreadsheet - as far as possible, do write in the names of the characters, because chances are they are not mentioned in the GoodReads description and/or in the metadata and it would tough to trace them back.
You can refer to my example of a completion post in message 9 at the top of the page.

Some of the questions that were brought up over the last day. Thank you for bringing your concerns up. Its always better to ask than assume. And it helps all of us. So, yaaay, greater good! :D
The ET planning/tracking spreadsheet, are we meant to make a copy for ourselves and then share the information or how do we use it?No. Don't make a copy to track if possible. Then we would just end up having too many spreadsheets, and then I will just end up dumping more work on the co-caps! (I mean, duh!).
We don't want to trouble them (just yet!).
But, on a serious note, only the ET Planning/Tracking Spreadsheet will suffice. We can all work on it simultaneously. So, whatever you decide to read, start putting in all the relevant information and then add on a ''read date' there once you are done with that before you move to the next.
I have added all of our names there so that we all have atleast a space of 5 books to start with and no one encroaches on other's spaces. Keep adding rows after you are done with that. All the formatting on the spreadsheet is simple, so you won't break anything or it can be easily fixed.
I just added one of my anticipated books there just to give you an idea. As I start reading it, I might ending up finding characters whose names work for other letters and then I will come back and update that row.
We don't ever fill anything in in the other one, right, only the (co-)captains?Yes. See! One less headache for you guys. More work for the co-caps! :P (They are going to hate me at the end of this :P)
Are the 15 hands that are currently in the spreadsheet all for February?Good question. Yes. All those 15 hands are only for February. We will get a new set every month.
The goal is to complete all the 15 hands before the end of the month amongst the 9 of us. WE GOT THIS! :D
Just to make sure I understand the cards: if I were to read Pachinko for example, we could use it for a Draw 2 card, then it would fulfil the criteria of a Reverse card and a Skip card; yes or no?In theory, yes. But that depends on how our hands are dealt.
So, Pachinko will definitely work for a Reverse (since a couple of us have read it) and Skip (Title P) and a bunch of other numbers based on the first and last names of the characters and locations.
Draw 2 only applies for cards within a hand and not the overall deck.
If I were you, I would not worry about Draw 2s. It really is more about fitting that book in a particular hand than actually reading the book. The caps can work on all that maneuvering. :)
Do you know if NetGalley books that aren't currently published can be counted for UNO?Yes. The only requirement is that the book needs to have been logged in onto GoodReads, because that is what we will be going off of. So, as long as the book is on GoodReads, you are golden! :D

So I'm Laura, I live in Belgium with my boyfriend and our two cats, one of ..."
We have TWO English teachers in the house!
*goes searching for his dictionary to use words to sound smart*
I am always a happy baby when I see Fredrik Bachman in anyone's favourite list. I adore that man's writing style - just finished Anxious People earlier this month and I blown to smithereens. What a gifted author!
Laura, if you like Historical Fiction, then I can't recommend Pachinko enough! I really hope you love it because it is so wonderful and satisfied by historical fiction hunger so deliciously.
Also, Eragon is 95% blue, so it beautifully fits into that Blue 6 slot. Great find! You can absolutely keep it to be read during the challenge, but its still a LOOONG 10 days away, so I can totally understand if you gobble it before that. :)
I am going to a separate post after this to answer your questions, so that it doesn't get lost in my rambling here, if someone else also is wondering about the same stuff.
So, WELCOME! :D Hope you have a memorable first team challenge! :)

It was a pleasant surprise to turn on my laptop and have all these notifications that UNO was happening! Nice to meet you all team! One of my favourite thin..."
Alright, peeps! Tina is here.
We are in safe hands. I'm off to a vacation on the seas! :P
Hello, to the wonderful person who signed up to clean up the mess I make while I trundle my way into being a captain. :P Sorry in advance. :P
I love your reading system by the way. Very ingenious.
I try to not read two back-to-back books of the same genre, because I've realized I tend to be a little more critical of the one that follows. So, I've started to scatter the genres a little apart, so I can be unbiased in my reading/rating.
LOVE The Martian by the way. That humor is crackling!
Have seen E.T., but I'm actually planning on seeing all the movies that have gotten a team name here, just to get in the spirit of the challenge. Should be fun! :)
Of the movies that I have watched recently, I loved One Night in Miami... which was released last week. I love wordy movies with characters just sit and talk and we get to unfold their personalities, and this was right up that alley.

What?
Hold on! Is that a thing?
