Margaret Thatcher is quoted as saying, "Europe was created by history." And Johnny Depp said"...the whole of Europe [has] a great culture and an amazing history."
Let's share some of that history and culture that Europe is famous for by leaving quotes from our Europe books this month. Any or all quotes that interest you are encouraged, don't limit yourself. If you are stuck, try looking at page 46 for something interesting.

I have not heard from her. I sent her a PM and posted on this thread. I will send her another PM today to see if she is still participating.

Man - I could clear a lot of books off of my shelves if I read nothing but books on the Europe list for this month. At any rate - here are some that I have already slated to read this year:

Anna Karenina
Code Name Verity
Year of Wonders
The Angel's Game ..."You have some of my favorites on your list, Melissa. I can't recommend Life After Life enough. It was a 5 star book for me. Other than that, I loved Neverwhere, Outlander, and The Thirteenth Tale.

that does make it easy, Dee.

This is where we will announce the shelf for the next month, then we will post a thread for people to list what they want to read on that shelf. Last, we will put up two threads, one for short reviews of the books that you end up reading, and one for posting quotes from the threads.

It will be here before you know it, Dee.

Talia - Really you can start at any time, since you can work backwards. You can totally catch up, and we are glad to have you aboard.

Finished my Male POV book,
The Outsiders by
S.E. Hinton. I just love this book and really enjoyed reading it again.
Kathaleeya - you are up. You get to read the last Male POV book. :)

Hey all, sorry I did not post over the weekend, but my boys were here visiting, so I was pretty busy. At any rate, since everyone has had such problems finding books with only a male POV, I decided to re-read one of my faves and will be reading
The Outsiders by
S.E. Hinton. I love this book and should finish it today. I'll let you know.

I know, Karen....time flies, right.

Congrats, Bea. I am still trying to finish my book. I should be done by the end of the month, though.

I remember as a kid how much trouble I had with the whole 1900s being the 20th century thing. I think a lot of people just don't think about what that actually means. :P

The same thing happens to me, Susan. Plus I have to get busy and update my log. I think I only have one of my books on there.

I am looking forward to what she picks, too. Thanks for getting that done, Amy. As you say, April is fast approaching.

Snowblind by
Christopher GoldenI seem to be on a ghost story/horror kick right now. I think that about half of the books that I have read lately have been ghost based. As for this latest one, it was pretty creepy and really good. Demons that appear in a snowstorm, killing, ghosts returning later, a really good story with characters that I definitely could empathize with. I give it 4 stars and a good recommendation.

I'm trawling through my TBR listings and see that I have The Lightning Thief there. I know that 'P' doesn't appear in the starting of the title, but on the list..."Lauren is right. It must be the actual name of the book or the author. For one thing, the Percy Jackson notation is not really the title of the book as it was published. It is just Goodreads way of keeping track of the series.
Dionisia wrote: "Thanks for the PM! I'll have to wait till I'm home to pick my book."Cool. When you finish reading, can you PM me since I am next. Just in case I don't see this thread for some reason.

I have never done anything but copy and paste the web address before.
