I hope you like it. My youngest son's friend from high school says that it has one of the best depictions of a blind character she has read. She is pretty picky since she has been blind from birth; she believes that there aren't enough strong blind characters in stories.

I thought the story line was pretty interesting, too.

Here you go, Jean

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
Things Not Seen by Andrew Clements
Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen

The first two were 5 star reads for me, and Garden Spells was a 4 star read.

I haven't ever read this one, but I think I am going to do the mysteries first. The Cuckoo's Calling, etc.

8565 I finished Murder at the Vicarage the first Miss Marple mystery by Agatha Christie. I have loved Agatha Christie since I was in high school and read most of them back then. I recently read the last Miss Marple and have decided to read all the Agatha Christie books again.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. It is much lighter than most of the mysteries that I tend to read these days. I love the characters that Christie comes up with. My favorite in this book was the "vapid" Lettice. I read somewhere that in Agatha Christie books the guilty one is always the least likely person. Not sure if that is true, but it was certainly true in this case. It was fun to reacquaint myself with how Miss Marple got her start, too.

That is an interesting dilemma, Tien. I never really thought of that.

As for the series books, I made sure to only put the next book that I need to read on my shelf so people don't have to worry about that. Then if someone picks it and I read it, I can put the next one on the shelf.

There's not much on it yet since I'm wrapping up 2015 challenges for another group, but I'll add more for the new year."

Got you Alison!

8565 I'm glad you like the idea, Kaitlin. A bunch of the mods were talking about this the other day, and I for one am always in favor of Reviews of the books everyone is reading. I agree, there are a lot of books on people's shelves that look really interesting.

Thanks for setting up the thread, Susan.

I do too. Rolling again because what you landed on didn't work would open up a big can of worms for a lot of situations.

I agree with Bea and Susan - Just pick another book for that square and start over. You have 4 weeks to complete a book for a square as long as you are not trying to purchase a property, which this one certainly isn't if you picked your own book, so just pick another and start again.

BTW - I know what you are going through. A couple of months ago I was reading a book with a bunch of friends....it was the second in the series...I really liked the book, but it literally gave me nightmares. I finally had to put it aside and read something else. No book is worth nightmares!

I'll send Tien a note to update the FAQs with this one in case anyone else has the same problem. :)

No problem. It's fun to do some choosing. We should probably leave the next one for you to do."

No worries...I would rather the person get their books as soon as possible since I am not on all of the time!

Susan is correct, there is a clarification in the FAQs that states that you cannot ask for different books just to buy a property.
