8565 So far, I have read 2. I have another 2 on my desk to be read...and a different 2 have been selected for the weekly Just Read It choice. However, those are library books and will have to wait.

8565 I have made no progress on this prompt, despite having one of the books chosen for Bookopoly. I really need to get moving on these. However, I must admit to having chosen owned books that I have had difficulty getting myself to read.

LynnB, out of 7 weeks, I have read 2 so far. I will read this week's as I own it...but the other 4, not yet. I did look on my library's 2 digital sites but none of those are available that way.

8565 Yippee! I own that one. Winter Study (Anna Pigeon, #14) by Nevada Barr

Coralie, how about one of these?

Saving Fish from Drowning
The Comforters
Merchanter's Luck

8565 Yes, I gave The Left Hand of Darkness 5* (science fiction) and Daughter of Fortune 4* (magical realism). However, I think the rating of The Left Hand of Darkness was expected. For me Le Guin's stories usually are not so much about the take-over of other worlds and include a fantasy element that I resonate with. I was a bit surprised at my own liking of Daughter of Fortune since I am hit and miss with Allende's books and with magical realism in general.

Hi, Joanna. How about one of these?

Loyalty in Death
The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms
The Swimming Pool Library

8565 Hmmm. This pick is one of my biggest books to read (Prompt 2). Genre = Mystery, True Crime. Too bad the library is closed. I could have used the momentum of this pick as well as a due date to get this book read.

Elvenn, I, too, really enjoyed this book more than I expected. It got a rare 5* rating from me. So glad you also enjoyed this writing.

8565 I read Graveyard Dust. I gave it 3*, partly because of the amount of voodoo ritual that took me most of the book to really grasp despite all the helps and explanations the author included.

This is a story of a free man of colour who sought to free his sister from a murder charge. It is a story of slaves and whites and free coloured people and their interactions and lives. It is about prejudice based on color and religion. And, it is about one man's journey in healing.

I read this for Series and for Prompt 4 of JRI.

I nominate New Orleans.

Here you go...

Reaching Tin River - the longest on your list
The Dark In-Between - the newest on your list
The Year the Maps Changed - the highest rated

8565 Hey! Today I get one that I own, and it's not an alternate! Genre = mystery.

I have finished only one book ~ the first one. The next two I requested from the library, and one of those is on hold for me for when the library opens again. (The other is pending.) So, I have made the decision to skip both of those.

I was going to go with an alternate for last week, but I think I will skip that one too (since I own this week's).

I really need to get better organized with my reading schedule as I am falling behind here.
