So far, I have read 2. I own one left to read, and I have one on my desk that was checked out of the library before the closures. I figure, if I do one a month, that is 10 months...and 2 grace months. So, I am right on track.

And it is because of Silly Dee, that the wording is "have read at least 1 book" instead o..."
LOL. Well, Dee, there are some series that I started also by reading a later book and am now searching out book #1. Guess I am in good company.

This is a series that I enjoy as it is set during early Roman years. The main protagonist is a man who works as an informer primarily for the caesars, but he takes on various other clients also. Most of his cases involve solving a crime - usually a murder. His lady is a Senator's daughter - way above his pay grade and social status.
I enjoy the interaction between the two, the integrity he shows, the independence and strength she shows...and find the books a good break from the reality of my day.
Used for PnM Settings (Time) and Series.
I nominate Historical Mystery.

√1. Relics: A Faye Longchamp Mystery - #2 Read April 11, 2020
√2. The Charming Quirks of Others - #7 Read April 12, 2020
√3. Graveyard Dust - #3 Read March 31, 2020
√4. The Beautiful Mystery - #8 Read May 19, 2020
√5. Grave Memory - #3 Read April 2, 2020

Then, I realised that it's possibly one of the books I wrapped for Blind Date lol"
LOL

Heres my shelf
thanks"
Meg, here are 3 for you to consider:
The Submerged Cathedral
Parable of the Talents
The Undomestic Goddess
I hope one strikes your fancy.

Now that the libraries are closed, I did not expect to see any books I have on the list. BUT...
Up in the Old Hotel was there! So I will try to get that one read.

No, I didn't. I am concerned about spending any more even though the expense will be in the future. Looks like my extra income through AirBnB will be drying up. That hurts my financial situation a bit.

I am hoping that this isolation situation ends as I will be missing some books I was looking forward to reading. Oh, well.

How about one of these?
The Surprising Power of a Good Dumpling - love the title and cover colors
An Outcast and an Ally - this title makes me ask questions about the book...and want to read it
The Cruel Stars - sometimes we just need to escape

Great!

That's fine by me, Bea. I own a copy of the book so I am not reliant on the library for this one."
OK, Lagullande. My library requested it, so as soon as they open, I will be able to get it. I will let you and Stacey know.

Lagullande

Are y'all still interested in reading this book with me?"
I will try, Bea, but am finding it pretty difficult to concentrate on reading at all at t..."
I have discovered the same thing, Lagullande. And, right now the libraries are closed. I am willing to push this off for awhile. Stacey is currently doing a buddy read, so maybe she would welcome a break. I just joined an online book club (why, I don't know, as I have plenty to read) which will work like a buddy read.
Let's push it to May or June.

I hope you enjoy it. I loved the title.

How about these?
An Elderly Lady is Up to No Good
The Swimming Pool Library
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
I love the titles of the first two, and the last was a fun read for me.

The Oracle of Stamboul for Lost
Sacred Country for Just Read It and Blind Date
Venus in Copper for PnM Settings (Time) and Series
The Last Song for Trim
Whole Latte Life for Wheel 4
Graveyard Dust for Just Read It and Series
Reading:
The Kreutzer Sonata for MM
Choiring Of The Trees for PnM Owned, Bookopoly, and Just Read It
Blood Lure for PnM Settings (Place), Series 2019, and Just Read It

I did go online to check due dates and found that both libraries had moved the due dates on any books due before their projected re-open date. That gives me a bit of a breather as several were due in the next week.
