Question related to Lusie and Coralie's discussion of spheres...
Are y'all talking about the quotes at the head of each chapter indicating it is from a certain drawer with a certain gem?
If so,
(view spoiler)[ aren't those the drawers and gems that Dalinar found in his room...in the walls (hide spoiler)]

I quit reading a couple of days ago, but I will catch up today.
If everyone is OK with speeding up the reading, I suggest that Tuesday be the end of Part IV and Friday be the end of the book. Would this work for everyone?

Heres my shelf"Meg, here are 3 options:
Farthing - 4* for me
The Paris Wife - 5* for me
A Study in Charlotte - on my TBR
Maybe you will like one of these.

Hey, Tien...what book did you pick from the Broome selections?
Stacey wrote: "I've landed on Broome to go to when I finish my Jail book. Can someone pick 3 books for me, please?
My shelf"Stacey, how about...
The Cruelest Month,
Station Eleven, or
A Dog's Purpose?
Would one of those appeal?

I am thinking of reading this a bit faster so I can finish it next week along with the other Buddy read I am doing. Our next two sections are shorter...and my other buddy read will only be about 250 pages next week. That will fit in with the planned Read-a-thon next week.

I forgot about that moment that the spheres were unused. I am not sure what happened there.
How far are you with reading?"14 chapters to go to end of reading. You must have been reading as I was typing because I added more~

OK... I know I am not supposed to read the spoilers until I finish...but...
(view spoiler)[I thought it was interesting that Kaladin's mask failed when he investigated the Wall Guard and the Elhokar and Adolin's did not seem to...even though all spheres were OK. I also thought it interesting that the Veil persona fled when Wit recognized Shallan.
I think Shallan wanted to draw the distorted spren because she is trying to get a handle on the ancient Spren that is controlling the city. She seems to think it is like the one she fought in the tower and overcame. (hide spoiler)]
Lusie wrote: "Bea, you are probably right about the spren. I forgot about that.
7 more books? Wow!"Yeah, the author plans to write 10 books. The first 5 will be Part I of the series, and the last 5 will be Part II of the series.

Here are my thoughts.
(view spoiler)[I agree that Shallan and Jasnah's relationship is at odds due to the time apart. However, I see it as Jasnah not acknowledging that Shallan had changed before jumping right in again with the relationship as before. I also think that Shallan's own struggle to figure out who she is is part of the problem. She does not interact with Jasnah from strength.
I also find that the Thrill and the interaction with Odium are a problem for Dalinar. I hope he can find his balance in those instances and keep his integrity.
I think the one that Odium was indicating was the female spren who drove away Stormfather in one of the visions.
Yay for Bridge Four. I really like the way they are all so different and yet pull for each other. Rlain, however, has yet to find his place. Will that be a problem when war comes?
So now we have Kadash and Moash finding a sympathy for the parshmen. Both have power. Since there are 7 more books to be written, I am not sure that this is going to work out as well as I would hope. (hide spoiler)]

The Salaryman's WifeGhost of a ChanceKing's WrathAll are series and may help you there.
Marina (Sonnenbarke) wrote: "I have to admit it's getting more and more difficult to stop reading.."The only thing that keeps me from reading ahead is the fact that I have multiple books going for various deadlines, including another buddy read!
Marina (Sonnenbarke) wrote: "I agree with you, Bea. I don't think Kvothe is ever going to go back to the University - if he did, he couldn't very well have become an innkeeper, could he? Same goes for Bredon. I'm wary of those..."Marina...that is my worry to about Bredon. Nobody gives something for nothing in that world.

I enjoy all Kvothe's adventures, but his current stay in Severen is a bit worrying.
I don't trust Alveron. He seems to swing drastically from liking to hating a person. Nor was I comfortable with his decision to cut off the thumbs of the alcanist.
I'd like Kvothe to return to the university setting, but I don't think he does...I mean, he is the innkeeper who is telling the story.
What do you think of Bredon? He seems to be helping Kvothe, but I am worried that he has another agenda that will be bad for Kvothe.
