8565 Still reading Rhythm of War for Buddy Read and JRI 1. I have finished 3/5 parts and have only about 400 pages to go in this 1230 page book.

Also reading:
Hot Button for Trim
Unhallowed Ground for January BtM
8565 I'm still reading. However, I am excited to say that I finished Part 3 and am reading the Interludes tonight. That is actually ahead of schedule by 3 days. Another exciting accomplishment...from behind to ahead of schedule. Only 387 pages to go after I finish my plan for today! I am expecting to finish this book next week...and, since it is due on 1/29, I think I will not need to use the last renewal.

8565 I am a dog person...very much so. And, I am not particularly fond of cats, since one bit me in the dark when I was young. Yet, they like me. Go figure!

Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats (planned for JRI 5 - poetry)

Firestar's Quest (on my New Series shelf)

The Cat Who Smelled a Rat (planned for a past season in another group) - However, I use these books as quick reads when I need a cat book. Not reading in any particular order.

Lending a Paw (on my New Series shelf and planned for a current challenge in another group)

Sabriel (planned for JRI 4 and another group)

Monstress, Vol. 1: Awakening (planned for another group's challenge in the past)

These are the books on my TBR in the first 10 pages of the list. I will probably read the ones for current challenges in this group first.

Beth, the book was filled with pictures of what was found and of the book it was found in. If it was something with writing, it was transcribed into the description.

But, that format and the amount of found things just got boring after a time.

I took a day off reading yesterday but expect to get through Part 3 in the next couple of days. This was the longest part, so I should be able to complete this book by the end of the month.

8565 Nice job, Marina!
8565 Glad to hear that you are now walking, Lusie!

Finished Part 2. Wow! What a setup for the next part! Kal and Syl, Adolin and Shallan/Radiant/Veil...and the tower with Navani and the Sibling! I am on pins and needles to find out what happens next!
8565 Lusie wrote: "I bet it's beautiful there. Sorry you got lost! That's very kind they gave you a ride back to your car! It's annoying when the trails are not clearly indicated."

Actually, it was a bit amazing! The ground is sand with leaf litter and pine straw. It is a pine woods. I did find a stream but never came across the pond/lake that is supposed to be there. I did find a wonderful sand cliffs. Wow! Amazing. The preserve is 417 acres!
8565 Lusie wrote: "Where are you hiking? A forrest? 0.9 miles is good to start :D
Have fun taking photographs."

I went to a local preserve which was supposed to have 3 trails. I started out on what I thought was the short one only to get lost and wander around. I ended up quite a ways from where I started but a kind man gave me a ride back to my car. I had hiked for about an hour when I began to panic and bushwhacked my way out to a house and road. Quite an adventure for my first time out. I am bushed!
8565 Lusie wrote: "Good luck with your goal! Sorry for going so fast. Today I am taking it slow by watching some movies on Netflix. But I'll probably do some reading tonight. It's a good book so far. Are you enjoying..."

I am. I have made good headway today, reaching page 479. I need to think about my reading before sharing my thoughts, so I am going to go out for a bit.

And, don't worry about your speed. It is what is. I am trying to get a pile of leaves burnt and they are still wet from rains. However, we have a storm coming through on Sunday, so I will do what I can today. Oh, and I am starting to hike. Today will be my first outing...only 0.9 miles. Still I will take my camera and practice using it also. Back later.
8565 Lusie wrote: "I'm really into the book now. Probably because there is more action and I like Shadesmar. I still don't understand everything but the pacing picked up and I like all the different point of views.

I've just gotten to Shadesmar! You are way ahead of me, so I am not going to try to catch up. Too many other things going on in my life. I hope you heal quickly, but I do understand that waiting on that healing provides a wonderful span of time to read. My goal is to finish part 2 by Saturday. Not sure if I will make it...but, shoot, a girl needs a goal.
8565 Lusie wrote: "Bea, I'm ahead of you. I have finished part 1
I also wonder what Kaladin will do next.

How lovely the you dream about the book!

Probably not for me then, Tien. I don't like sweet drinks. Maybe ev..."

Nearly finished Part 1 but had to quit. I was too tired to make the push.

8565 Finished: Forgotten Bookmarks: A Bookseller's Collection of Odd Things Lost Between the Pages for By the Month January

This book got boring after the first couple of chapters. 2*. Anyway, it is off my TBR.
Jan 12, 2022 06:55AM

8565 OK...reworked my skips to be colors of cards in game (except for color skipped)

How about the random book? Does it have to be one of the colors since the instruction is to pick a book from the first page of random sort?
By the Month... (199 new)

8565 I need to clarify about the rollover rule. It is not the actual planned books that roll over, is it? Instead I roll over the unread number of books, correct?
8565 Tien wrote: "If you guys do get the drink, beware that it's super sweet, I usually ask for the sugar to be 30% (instead of 100%).

@Bea, that's so cool!! Though it can get confusing lol I probably won't remembe..."

So far, it hasn't been a problem, but with this book, who knows.

Oh, and I will be asking for 20% sugar, if I can get it.
