With a Hammer for My Heart for January BtM
The Baker's Wife for January BtM
Ill Wind for JRI prompt 6
8565 Just checked my local libraries. I can get Edgedancer but it is currently checked out. I will not put it on hold as I am not yet ready to jump back into this world.

Neither of the library systems I use have Dawnshard: From The Stormlight Archive as it is not yet published here in book form. The Augusta library system has it on order, though. I suspect it will be later in the spring before I can get my hands on that copy. Yet, I am willing to wait, for now.

My feelings exactly.

Lusie wrote: "Do you think The Cosmere Collection has spoilers? I haven't read all of the other series."

I haven't read any of the other series. As best I could tell from GR, this book contains stories based on each of the other series...so unless I read the one based on the Stormlight Archive, I couldn't guess. However, if the other series are as intricate in the world-building as Stormlight is...with as many intricate characters...I can't see how much could be given away in a story format.
8565 I've only read books #1, #2, #3, and #4. Have any of you read the #0.5, #2.5 and #3.5 books? Or The Cosmere Collection one? These are all about the same universe and the main books.

8565 Finished XVI for BtM

Fantastic dystopian book that feels like it is so close to happening. I gave it 5*.

Different readers have different counts due to size of font changing from reader to reader. GR usually won't accept the Kindle page count unless the book is only available in Kindle. And sometimes the page count for Kindle on Amazon is listed as the printed edition pages.

In this case, Amazon has the Kindle edition at 199 print pages, the hardcover at 304 pages, and the paperback at 352 pages.

8565 Fun fact: I joined GR in November 2008. As of today, I have read 2211 books! In this year, I will be reading 2222 books...only 11 more to go!

I finished Finale"

Thanks, Lusie!
8565 I was so very excited to finish. For someone who is intimidated by Big Books, this one was a mountain!

Yet, I have to admit, this story is definitely an epic one, which kept my interest well. Brandon Sanderson builds an incredible world. His characters are interesting, different, and sometimes surprisingly human...even when they aren't.

That said...I need to take a break from his writings. I need to get back to the little world for a bit and find my footing again.

Thanks, Lusie, for looking for a buddy. I am glad to have read it.

GR has noted that the next book #5 is expected in 2023. A year to rest. OK...that works.

8565 Finished: Unhallowed Ground for January BtM
8565 Finished Part 4. I will read the interludes tonight, so that I can begin Part 5 tomorrow. On the last leg. This is good story. My emotions go up and down as I read. I will finish this book this week...in a day or two.

Good! How much longer until you return to work?

Getting out and about must feel good even for a short time.
8565 Lusie wrote: "You are making good progress with the book, Bea! That's awesome you are now even ahead of schedule

Have you been hiking again?"

I was supposed to go today with a couple of friends, but the hike was cancelled due to weather. We had 2 days of rain and then ice/snow (just a dusting), but the trail is notorious for flooding. I was thinking of trying a more local hike myself, but I need badly to do food shopping for me and the dog...so that will take precedence. Depends on how I feel after wandering the isle of the grocery.

I didn't read as much yesterday as I had planned...so even though I am ahead of schedule...I am behind!
