Happy reading!

The Caine books by
Matthew Woodring Stover.
If you are not familiar with this series, then by all means read
Heroes Die. It is amazing.

There were a few books this year for me that vie for best. Although,
The Dragon Waiting by
John M. Ford would be my pick for best.
As for worst, well, there were a few of those too.
The Accursed Tower by
John Cleve(
Andrew J. Offutt) would have to be my worst. With it's graphic sex and flimsy almost nonexistent story I was not entertained.

The year is winding down and I was wondering what was your best and worst read this year?

I have Undying In Yana but I seem to have lost my copy of Nifft the Lean.

I just finished
T C Rypel's
Fortress of Lost Worlds. It has been awhile since I've enjoyed a fantasy book this much!
Next up is
Songs of the Dying Earth: Stories in Honour of Jack Vance.

Thank you, Phil and Peter. I think I'll read it next after I finish
Fortress of Lost Worlds.

This is only $1.99 today only.

Lol, silly me! That has been collecting dust on my shelves since it came out. Sounds like I need to dust it off and read it. Thank you, again.

I read
Carnacki, the Ghost Finder awhile ago and really enjoyed it. Wish he had written more of those stories.
Phil wrote: "I just finished reading The Guiding Nose of Ulfant Banderoz, a novella by Dan Simmons set in Jack Vance’s Dying Earth setting. This was probably the most FUN book I’ve read all year..."Thanks for sharing. I was unfamiliar with the title but now I want to read it too.

Mark me down for just finishing
A Spell for Chameleon. Cover art by the awesome Michael Whelan! Where's my participation award?!? lol, j/k

I like that cover, Seth! Very wicked!

It's strange. The quality of the books seems to have degraded since I've brought them home, lol. They're nice from afar, but far from nice. Some are still great, and some are middling. A few are not so hot.
A Spell for Chameleon is the worst. It looks fine on the shelf but the spine has separated from the cover and the book is broken near the middle. I was thinking a few dabs of Gorilla glue would fix'er up. Any suggestions?
