I would have loved to meet Mr Schweitzer. Good haul!!

Welcome to the group, Jack! Both of your books Mooncrow and Cloak of the Two Winds sound very interesting.

Lol I live in the wrong part of the country! Nice!

Guess I'll have to keep an eye out for them.

Thanks for sharing that about Mask of the Sorcerer, Seth. I had no idea Mr. Schweitzer ever attempted to pen a Conan story. I wonder if it will ever see print?
Greg wrote: "Just bought this book at a remaindered price yesterday: Beastmaster: Myth. Not actually reading it yet but just wondering if anyone else has?"Sounds interesting. I loved the movie as a kid. Just added another to the TBR list.

I've picked up a copy of Talus and the Frozen King by Graham Edwards. I've never heard of the author before, but the story seemed interesting. It's kind of a murder mystery set in a place similar to the Orkneys in northern Scotland during the Neolithic period. I figured I'd give it a go...

I only wish that the last two books of the series were put into an omnibus.

I'm Richard, and I'm a S&S and Heroic Fantasy junkie. I get my fix from thrift stores and the few local book stores still open. I prefer physical books to the digital ones. My wife actually bought me a kindle to try to curb my enormous collecting habits; with very little success. Over the years I haven't encountered anyone else with similar reading interests; so finding this group has been great. I would love to tell you that I found this or that title by this or that author in the store when they were new, but sadly I wasn't around back then. My jumping on point was the reprints of Jirel of Joiry, Midnight Sun, Gods in Darkness, Mask of the Sorcerer by the SFBC back in the '90's. From there I have read the tent poles: Howard, Carter, Burroughs, Moorcock, ect. but I really enjoy finding the lesser known pastiches. Most recently, I have discovered a interest in Sword and Planet books. Currently I'm reading through the Dray Prescott and Richard Blade books. I'm not really sure if they are relevant in this group because I have heard no mention of them. Anyhoo, thanks for having me and thanks to S.E. Lindberg for recommending some new books.

While I really enjoyed Mask of the Sorcerer, I was not a fan of Sekenre: The Book of the Sorcerer. It seemed that they were just stories that Sekenre just happened to pop up in. Plus, I had never heard of Gonji until I joined this group. My choice would be Gonji.

Thanks for sharing the maps!!

What about the Heart of Bronze duology by Matthew Stover? Iron Dawn and Jericho Moon are the titles respectively.
Then there is the Dangerous Journey's trilogy by Gary Gygax. The Samarkand Solution, The Anubis Murders, and Death in Delhi. These were reprinted several years ago by Planet Stories.
Although my personal favorite will remain Mask of the Sorcerer by Darrell Schweitzer.
