80482 I just scored eight titles that I needed for my REH collection. From an unexpected place. And to think that I almost didn't stop in that afternoon...

The Incredible Adventures Of Dennis Dorgan
The Sowers of the Thunder
The Lost Valley of Iskander
The Road of Azrael
A Gent From Bear Creek
The Gods of Bal-Sagoth
Marchers Of Valhalla
Pigeons from Hell

80482 The artist for the Eric Brighteyes 1891 edition seems to be Lancelot Speed. At least that's what I read on the internet; so it MUST be true.

80482 They really are. If you google 1891 Eric Brighteyes illustrations they come up. The book doesn't credit an artist but online they seem to have been done by Lancelot Speed.

80482 I have a 1891 hardcover edition of Eric Brighteyes that is falling apart. I found it cheap years ago and kept it for a curiosity. It's illustrated throughout.

80482 I enjoyed them both. Unfortunately the story isn't finished.

80482 Sounds good. I've always liked the 'come as you are' approach to the group. Everyone I've interacted with has been friendly and courteous. Plus, my TBR pile has become a mountain.

80482 Have you seen the Earthsea movie? Live action or animated? Worth checking out.

80482 Some light snow followed by icy roads equals two days off work! Alabama doesn't get this kind of weather often enough for us to have the equipment and materials needed to combat icy roads. Lots of time in my chair to read, doze, and repeat.

I just finished Flashing Swords! #5: Demons and Daggers and it was very enjoyable. My favorite was Diane Duane's story Parting Gifts followed by Tanith Lee's The Dry Season. Recommended!

Onward to Tales of Engines & Demons. Not necessarily S&S but it is an anthology.

80482 The price tag is a little steep for a kindle edition though...

The opinion stated in the Castalia House blog seems to sum up every anthology that Martin and Dozois have put out. Some authors hit the mark and some not so much. It pains me there are so many rabid fans of Martin. Especially when there are many authors who write this sort of fiction so much better.

80482 Malazan is a hefty read in weight and scope. I felt like I missed so much the first time through. Amazing characters and world. I really should read his other series and Esslemont's too but whew it's an epic undertaking.

80482 I just picked up Flashing Swords! #5: Demons and Daggers for January's group read.
