Yeah, David's death didn't touch me, he was part of Nikolai's gang and did a lot of things to help them.. but I don't know.. he was in his own world so we didn't really get to know him more to care about him now.

Longer than the threads of life
I liked this one. I don't know what much to add about it. Maybe it would've been nice to know more about her mother giving her to the sorcerer to lock her in the tower, and about her power.


As for the last story.. I don't know, I didn't care for it and just wanted to finish it.

I'm usually not a fan of short stories, and although that hasn't changed much 😅😂 I liked this one more than I expected.

I'm again behind even though I planned to read a bit every day. I think even though I like the book I can't read much of it, I don't know why tho.

I started book 6, which means back to Dior and the story line that interests me more.

*At some point before the fight that happened with Laure Voss I thought he might kill her with his gift.. and I was right.. Now in hindsight it makes sense.. because why would the Forever King want him dead? Also, I'm so closer to finishing the book but I'm still confused by the vampire titles.. like why was Laure a Prince? And I even don't know the titles of the lady that de Leon is telling his story to.

The Coldest spot in the Universe
I like that this was a post-apocalyptic setting, and that it was talking about environment and how politicians, and older generations, did nothing because they won't live that long to feel the consequences. But besides liking the setting and the message, I didn't enjoy much that it was repeating itself in the beginning when it was switching from one character to the other, telling us things we already knew from the previous pov.

The Beginning of Monsters
The futuristic feel of this, to be able to change your body only because you are bored and have money reminded me of Altered Carbon the TV series.
The An/ans that started appearing when Insarra's child came is confusing me so much, that it makes my brain hurt. Is it a pronoun?
Hmm, this story felt a bit to cold? distant? to me.. but the world sounds interesting.

Last read chapter 11

But their relationship moved a tad too fast for me, I mean yes there was chemistry before but I don't know, at least the fake dating before going to his family should've been longer, or the long weekend should've been longer? I don't know, I just wish it was a little bit of a slow burn. (hide spoiler)]

Wish
I really liked this one, and even though it was short I didn't mind it or felt like I was missing something more like with some of the other stories we read.

The Weight
This one is so fascinating. I want more... but also it was enough 🤔 I don't know if this is the one I liked the most so far.. but it was the most innovative.

Unmoor
I agree, the memory erasing was interesting, would love to have a book about that.. although there may be one or few out there. And yes, the last memory erasing was way too dramatic for a heartbreak.. although I can't really judge what's "too dramatic" for someone and the intensity of pain they feel.
Kudos for the bilingual. I felt a bit weird when it switched from English to Spanish in the sentence BUT it was so much better than the other story.. and it had a few other Spanish words but it felt natural and not forced.

Chapter 1 😂 Mitch is so good at explaining why April should help him.

I read a bit more than the plan 😅 in my defense it's so easy. At first I had a bit of a problem remembering who is who since it was a while since reading the last book.. and honestly, I'm not going to think of the second book as part of the series because I was disappointed with it.

@Dine Zappia has a profile on wattpad where she wrote The Children of Hypnos. I don't remember what's the other story that was mentioned, but maybe it's on wattpad too.

A royal affair
This one is a bit tricky.. Since I read the books and knew the characters it was interesting to read more about them, however if I hadn't read the books, I don't know if I would've cared much about the story. The writing was easy and it made the story a fast read.

The Takeback Tango
Staying past your usual bed time and wanting to read didn't end up well. "Reading" this one took more time than it should've because my eyes would close after a few sentences, so it wouldn't be a surprise if I missed something. I agree with Raquel on the issue of stolen artifacts, that's something that's not talked about, and to be honest I didn't think much about displayed artifacts in museums, or even private collections, where they are from or if they have the right to display/collect them. If nothing else this story opened my eyes a bit.

Also.. do you know what came to mind as I typed about the fake death? Hanne said she doesn't like being in a dress, and all girly, and she can change appearances right? What if she switch tailored Rasmus as herself, and herself as Prince Rasmus? That way she would be more of who she is, would have the power to change things..

Ch 45(view spoiler)[ 😱 😱😭 Oh. My. GOD! He just suggested Zoya as a queen. I legit teared up. And the people are choosing her.. This is so great. I feel like this book wasn't as much about Nikolai as it was about Zoya and her character development.
On a side note, wasn't there somewhere in the whole universe where she said she'd be queen or something like that? 🤔

I have to say that even though I'm reading the book one and a half months I'm still enjoying it. I have this problem with reading books over a longer time period where I start disliking something, or not caring about the story as much as when I started it. So kudos for this book.

Oh, my.. is Gabriel seeing Aaron actually being scared a step towards them becoming besties? 😂 I mean.. they have things in common so...

I didn't finish the book as I planed, but I'm at least making more progress than last month 😅 I'm at Book 5, chapter 10. Although it's interesting to see his time at San Michon and how things started for him, I have to say that I'm more interested in the now story line.
