((they ran into the forest outside of the city :).))

Im still on. I had left for awhile as well. But i got back on like a week or two back.

That is awesome! Thank you :).

((They can go there :). I think I may make Braylin have to take a much longer way. If you want to make a character for him to run into, you can. But you dont have too :).))
Max had been ignoring any form of pain he felt, numb to everything nearly. He had no plans of what to do, so he just rode, not a thought going through his mind as he did so. It was not until West spoke that Max began to come from his trance state he had been in. "Yes, I agree. We should stop for awhile and rest." It would be the best thing. This way they would get to gain some of their energy back and may allow Braylin a chance to catch up...if he had managed to escape. "Do you believe the King will be sending men after us or just reserving them and preparing for a more tactical attack?"

Asher didnt feel a shred of guilt. He knew damn well there was to be war anyways. It was long sense due. There should have been some consideration into how weak the city was before the king played God over everything. "I have been prepared for this sense you raised taxes last spring," Asher informed casually before walking past his father and down the hall. He all but knew Braylin had escaped. Not only that, but Asher knee Braylin would return to do what he didnt today.

The morning had come much quicker than wished in ways. The sun was welcoming, though--very welcoming. Echo awoke with a bit of excitement, though she knew it wasn't exactly something she should have after what had happened the night before. She couldn't exactly help it since she knew what was ahead of them. It would be an adventure to say the least. "Shall we head to the salon to seek information?" She asked Arcadia after the two had been awake for a bit.

Asher hadn't settled on any sort of response that wouldn't enrage his father further. A lie would be the only thing helpful. "As soon as he struck you, he went for the hall. We followed, but he grabbed a young woman, a maid of the house hold, and used her to ensure his exit from the castle. The city is under lock down, so he should still be in the city. We are searching for him." Part of it was true, just the maid was a lie. Though, there was no one around to correct his words.

The forest, that would be the safest bet on foot. So, that's what Braylin headed for. He kept his speed up and didn't look over his shoulder for no reason. It wasn't until the shadows of leaves fell onto his skin that Braylin slowed. He finally looked to the city and saw a few number of horses on path for the forest where he had entered. Braylin turned on his heels again and went deeper into the woods, knowing it would be difficult for the horses to follow. It would be a foot race. But, Braylin had a head start. He didn't waste a second to think directional strategies. Following his gut had always been the best thing for him. Naturally it got him in trouble at times...like this, but he always got out of said trouble. Each and every time, like he was being helped out by a force unseen to eyes. Or maybe he just had a natural instinct that rarely let him stray? It was somewhat a mixture in reality, though he wouldn't become aware of just what that reality was for quite sometime.

A forest not far from the great city Maneara . Many that venture into it get lost if they know nothing of it. But, keep going straight and eventually you will make it from them. They are not dark in spirits like Sorrel's Dusk Forest, but still not the safest of places.

Max forced himself to not look over his shoulder to the city that disappeared slowly in the distance. Just keep riding, he told himself. The sooner they got back home, the better they could prepare. Max pushed his heels into the horse's sides and got the creature to speed up. The least Max could do would be to prepare their city for the upcoming war. So, he would hurry. If he couldn't ensure his best friend's safety, he would ensure their city's.

((he is indeed))
Aster hadn't left the courtroom, well not really. He had stepped out of the courtroom and into the hall when a few guards had come up. He sent them off to retrieve a medic to ensure his father was okay. Though, Ash knew his gather would just be angered by anything done at all unless it involved killing of the Sorrel house in full. Ash stepped back into the room when he heard noises. He came to see his father starting to stand. This wouldn't be fun. Ash didn't speak yet. He figured he would let his father fume while Ash came up with how Braylin exited the courtroom.

Echo simply nodded to Arcadia. These was the journey that Arcadia needed to become awakened fully as a dragon rider. Well, awakened she was, but the fully part wasn't done. Echo had dreamt of it many of times, their journey. She knew many details...including the one where she stopped traveling with Arcadia. But, that wasn't something she feared. Echo pulled a blanket snug to her and drifted into sleep, hoping for a dream this night. Hoping for a perfect direction rather than the very vague one she had now.

Echo smiled shyly to Arcadia. "I can try..." She trailed off, though. "Im not sure how well I could lead since I've never been though. I've got only a few shaky stories."
((so sorry for the shortness. Mg phone sucks))

((I don't feel like I can change her though, if that makes sense? She seems set the way she is when Jessica had written her. I'll probably just have her die somehow))
"Big and angry, flying around with a flap of those giant wings and a puff of smoke from it's nostrils!. It went to the cliffs."
"You speak of legends and myths!"
"Legends and myths? Legends and myths you say?! I'll have you know that they existed. They did."
"Oh, and is that something that old man from that hidden kingdom you keep ranting about said to you?" It was a dream she had once upon a time. A conversation taken ages upon ages ago that she had dreamed about. The cliff the mythical dragon flew towards not too far from a hidden city that didn't exist. That was all she knew. But, knew it true she did. "I know of a cliff. It's far in the north and coated in snow."

((sounds good to me! I like hidden things. We can both make a few characters for it when the times come :D. The hidden city characters, I mean :D. Sorry if I seem disconnected from Echo, btw, kinda hard to write her since I wasn't her creator. I might have her go away later and replace her with another girl and the guy they meet. Though, that's very, very debatable.))
Echo let a soft sigh escape her. She sat on the floor now, looking down at the dust and stray pieces of hay. "I'm afraid to say I have not traveled much," she admitted. There was a pause in her words as she racked her mind for more--or anything even that would be of help. "But..." she looked up to Arcadia. "I've heard rumors of the lands. What is it you wished to know of?"

Max actually respected West for the desire of wanting to return to find their friend. But, it was a risk he wouldn't allow. If Braylin managed to make it out of the castle, Max knew that Braylin could handle himself enough to get away and somewhere safe. But, if he was still inside, there wouldn't be anything they could do anyways. So, it would be pointless to return. "If he gets over the walls, he will be able to get himself somewhere safe and eventually back to Sorrel," Max said dully. "Going back would only risk losing someone else."
((off to it now. and glad you liked his escape :D))

((We can have another character come along when they start travels. Ya know, like one they pick up lol. And, does Echo know it well? I don't know. I can say she does...))

((I posted with Braylin making his escape :D. I'll have him have a detour trip soon.))
Max wasn't exactly trying to be mean when he had commented on West speaking with the woman. He wouldn't of minded any other day. But, the fact Braylin might be dead didn't help at all in his mode. His eyes were still before them. He wondered what the woman's reasoning for leaving so abruptly was. She must have left rather quick if West had saw her in the castle earlier. Max shrugged off questioning it. It didn't matter.

Braylin had returned his swords to their cases and reduced himself to only travel in the shadows. The alarms still wailed across the entirety of the city's walls. People were rushing into their homes and taking shelter. Something like this didn't exactly happen every day. It struck Braylin as odd when he saw a blonde whom looked all to similar to the Braxton family line was outside of the kingdom walls. A cousin perhaps? She looked confused, dazed even, eyes glancing over the streets. But, someone rushed along quickly and couched the young woman along. Which left the streets empty. No stands where open, no merchants selling their items, and no one to hinder his rush through the city. And rush he did.
He reached one side of the wall and scanned for any low sections or structures that would allow him escape. Guards had started to march the streets, so he was running low on time. He saw a tall enough building that would allow him to be high enough to grab hold of a few vines growing from the top. He scaled the building's side and pulled himself to the top. He made one bound off the edge, grabbed a vine and started to hoist himself up. Lucky for him, the plant held on long enough to get him to the top from there, he wasted no time or bothered with fear as he leap off the side, again getting lucky he didn't injure himself when he hit the ground. But, he was going a different direction than his Lord. And he would have to wait till he got out of sight in the distance to redirect.

Echo shook her head, smiling the smallest amount. "You do not need to explain to me, miss," she said in a vaguely knowing voice. "You should eat something." Echo had removed the boiling over pot of stew and put it aside. She stood to her feet and went to retreat a small wooden bowl and looped a few spoons into the bowl, bringing it to the girl. "Eat," she insisted.
