Realistically I can only read an average of one book per week, but it doesn't hurt to shoot for the stars occasionally ;-)

You're about to lap me, Brenda!
721 Finished my 2nd pick - Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein. Thrilling - 4 stars!

Thanks Melissa - I don't mind a bit of time travel and had not heard of this author or series before. I'm keen to check it out.

Yes, I saw your post how cheap it was and ducked in before dinner. Very handy that they are open until 7pm. Mind you I also bought knitting wool..."

Sounds like a recipe for a great night in!

I KNOW! I had to check with someone else who had read it, to make sure I hadn't misunderstood what was going on!

When I read chapter 1 on the weekend I got the distinct impression that it was written in the same 'voice' as TKAM, which I think is a good start. I enjoyed Stephen Romei's largely positive review in The Australian today, so am looking forward to reading GSAW for myself. But like others, I think I owe myself a re-read of TKAM first.

What the?! 'Weird' is too polite in this case.

721 The edition of TKAM that I own is this dinky little one from 1974, very well-read and adored

I'll probably just make do with a digital edition of GSAW until I can find a suitable companion edition. I realise this could take years!

I'm not very far into it yet, but I'm enjoying the pace so far.

721 I notice that the first chapter of Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee is available to read in Fairfax digital newspapers this afternoon - can't wait to get home to read it (in peace)!
721 Finished my first book for this challenge, You by Caroline Kepnes, 4.5★

Might make a start on Code Name Verity next.

721 Goodreads has been urging me to take a look at The Impossible Lives of Greta Wells by Andrew Sean Greer for weeks now, so I finally caved in and got hold of it. Recommended because of Life After Life, I think.
721 My Kindle kinda died on the way home from work - can't help but wonder if it was protesting my reading matter (Caroline Kepnes).

I'll have to dig out the instructions on how to reboot it and see if that works.
721 I'm going to start with You by Caroline Kepnes, which I've been itching to read for a while.

No, but I have it on my Kindle, so will be looking forward to it even more now that I've had a taste of Inga Simpson's story-telling.
