Janine wrote: "I have finished my 10th #2 Down Love that Cover The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George 2*"Oh no! I've been dying to read this - just waiting for the price to drop on Amazon. Maybe I'll let it drop even more...

I must say I find this one very eye-catching:

With my birthday money I bought
Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear (I'm keeping an open mind) and
Buddhism for Dummies. Not sure when I will find the time to read either of them though.

I have made a start, but haven't posted my choices yet, so here goes:
1). Geographical Setting: Read a book set in a different country than your own.
Mornings in Jenin (Palestine)
4). Title: Read a book with a PLACE NAME in the title.
Baking Cakes In Kigali (Rwanda)
5).Reader’s Choice: Read any book of your choice.
The Woman Who Dived into the Heart of the World (Mexico)
I am reading #1 first.

Haven't done much reading since Saturday as I got some..."Be careful with those eyes - they are not replaceable!
I remember when that book was released, I thought it sounded very interesting, so I'll be watching for your review. It's probably not the sort of thing I would buy myself but might be able to coax the library into getting it...

Feisty!

Brenda wrote: "Did you manage to transfer all your books across alright? ..."I'm keeping it pretty light for the time being, as I still have a few half-read books on my old Kindle. But I've transferred my Spring challenge books onto the new one. The books that were stored on the Amazon cloud required just a light press on the touchscreen and - voila!! My non-Amazon books just needed a little Calibre action via a USB connection - no big deal.

After a lot of dithering around I splurged on the Kindle Voyage last weekend. Even though the high-res Paperwhite was on sale... But no regrets so far! I love the auto-sensing light and the pagepress feature makes it feel very similar to my older model Kindle (similar in a good, familiar way). It's smaller and lighter overall, but with no compromise on the screen size. Best of all it handles maps extremely well - you know the Lonely Planet type maps - so that will be fabulous for my upcoming trip.
It's early days, so I'll try to remember to come back in a month or two and let you all know if I'm still loving it.

I've started reading
The Merry Misogynist this morning. It's #6 in the Dr Siri series, so it's like catching up with old friends.

I've been catching up on some sample chapters today, waiting for September to roll around so that I can get stuck into this challenge. Only hours to go!

You had me at 'Melbourne', S.M.! Why not, indeed. Thanks
Tien wrote: "Andrea, I don't really want to know but... you made me curious too ..."LOL - you win!
Sally906 wrote: "Now you have reduced your TBR pile you can go out and get some more books to replace them ..."You made me curious, so I checked. So far during August I have read 3 (will be 4) and added 18...
Mish wrote: "Since I only had Hannah Kent's book on e-book, I bought a beautiful hardcover version with my birthday money...."Nice one, Mish!
Odette wrote: "Just finished the last book I am reading for this challenge
A book by a male author The Gardener of Baghdad
by [author:Ahmad Ardalan|643..."That's good to know, as it frequently pops up in my Amazon recommendations and I wondered if I would like it.

Time to check in - I've finished #3
The Lavender Keeper, #6
Radio Shangri-la: What I Learned in Bhutan, the Happiest Kingdom on Earth and #7
Glimpses of Bengal. I also read my original #9 choice,
Hotel du Lac, but I read it too early to count for this challenge.
To be honest, if I spent more time reading and less time stalking Goodreads, I'd have made a lot more progress! I'm starting my #10
The Disappeared shortly, as my bedtime read.
RitaSkeeter wrote: "You have two there I have in my personal challenge for this year, so I'll be interested to see what you think of them. ..."Which ones? I think
The Visitors came from your 'top 5 of 2014', but so far I've been a bit daunted by the length of it.
