Okay, I'll keep it to a minimum. ;-)

Max was in the forest, sitting cross-legged in a patch of grass, leaning against a large rock. He caught the eye of a passing squirrel in the moonlight, his eyes tinted silver. Max willed the creature to a halt, then had it climb up the nearest tree and bring him back an acorn. The squirrel accomplished this easily enough, since it was in its nature to do so, anyway. Fish were much more difficult. They had quite a short attention span...
Max released his mental grip on the creature and it snatched up the acorn and scampered up a tree into its nest.
Jink chucked quietly. "They're always in a hurry, aren't they," he thought to Max.
Max smiled a little, but his mind was elsewhere.. Every time he closed his eyes, Bella was tbere, smiling her innocent smile.. Oh, Bella, Max thought to himself. You are obblivious to my love for you...
It was strange that just hours ago, Max was drawn to Bella by simply what he thought was right. Now he was drawn to her by irrevocable love.
Max found himself closing his eyes, imagining Bella again. Her strawberry-colored hair, , long and shiny and flowing... And then her eyes... Those beautiful green-gold gems! They were like halos, looking down on him.
That was just it- Bella was an angel. Bella was good. He was bad. Bella was engaged. And he had fallen in love with her.

Max left the castle, dazed from what had just happened. Jink followed behind them. Max's head was swimming with thoughts.The su n had just disappeared behind the trees in the distance. He headed in the direction of the forest, deciding to go practice his hypnotism and sort out his thoughts.

Max watched Bella as she pranced out the door, all the way until he could no longer see her.
"You've certainly gotten yourself into- or rather- started a mess," Jink thought to Max.
Max could hardly hear him. He was only sure of one thing- he was in love with Bella and he didn't know if he could stop.

Any cautious idea Max had had burst into flames. He held her hand in his. "I'd like that, then," he whispered.

Max closed his eyes for a moment, Bella's warm arms touching his pale skin. For a moment, he considered. No, he decided sadly. He had to stay out of Bella's love life-before he did something that crossed the line...
"I don't think Owen would like that...he doesn't. Even know me."

"N- no...," he said, dazed. There goes her eyes again, he thought to himself. They were so full of life, natural... not like the slabs of metal that were his eyes...
"Um... I hope I... I mean... maybe I'll see you again sometime?"

Max's heart quickened. Did she say... fiance?
Oh shut up Max!, he thought to himself in anguish. You just met this girl! You have no right to be... jealous...
And yet he couldn't help but notice the beautiful way her eyes looked near the sunlit window...
"Someone falling in love," Max heard Jink think with a grin. Max scowled at Jink.
"That's... wonderful... Con- Congradulations." He made the corners of his mouth lift.

Hey could I have a recap on the whole 'character love life' stuff?

Max strode into the infirmary again. "Everything's set," Max said to Bella. For some reason, he didn't want to leave Bella just yet... Suddenly, a thought occurred to him. "Hey, Bella, who's Owen?"

A couple minutes later, Max brought Lynne, the king, Serena, and a few nurses who had seen Max unconscious, all grouped together in an unoccupied room. He quickly gave them his excuses.
"You will give this story to anyone who asks," he finished. "And you were never hypnotised."
Just like that, everyone went back to what they had been doing. A little drowsily, especially Lynne, who had been hypnotised twice in one day, but it would wear off.

"Glad to," Max replied to Kyra.

"Okay," Max said. Then he smiled. "I'm glad all this is over. Now I just have to get your dad and some others andfix up their minds a bit." He opened the door. "My name's Max by the way," he said as he and Jink left the room.
