58421 February :

Beyond the Deepwoods (The Edge Chronicles The Twig Saga #1) by Paul Stewart Beyond the Deepwoods Oooh banderbear. Why were there not more Banderbears!?

The Fifth Season (The Broken Earth, #1) by N.K. Jemisin The Fifth Season Oooh I liked this. I liked this a lot. Even though 60% I didn't really understand until I was almost finished, lol. I can't wait to get into book 2.

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane I needed this little magical break. Was not expecting to cry at the end.

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller The Song of Achilles Did not live up to the hype. And honestly, the love story was ruined for me because it was two men. *shrugs*

Electric Idol (Dark Olympus, #2) by Katee Robert Electric Idol Yo the build up in the first half was gooood. It was just frustrating enough that the spicy hit juuust right. But then it just all fell apart. Spicy needs not met in the second half!
Will still continue the series haha.

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins The Hunger Games Read this for a GR group read. Don't think anyone else actually read it. I need to find a better group.
Glad I finally read it! Made even more enjoyable to listen to the score/ambience from the movie while reading.
Also I stayed up till 4am to finish this so I could count it towards Feb. It counts!!

6 for the month. I'll take it on a short month when I really didn't have time to read except while on work breaks. Love my Kindle more and more each day.

58421 January :

A Life in Parts by Bryan Cranston A Life in Parts I finished a celebrity memoir first last year so figured why not kick it off with another this year. Was not disappointed though I'm sure he could have written garbage and I would have still loved it.

Willodeen by Katherine Applegate Willodeen When I'm not in the mood to read, I pick up a middle grade. I loooooveee middle grade. I love me some whimsical, magical, children's fairy tale land anytime.

Galatea by Madeline Miller Galatea Short Story - Loved it. Makes me want to finally pick up Song of Achilles.

If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio If We Were Villains I actually already forgot I read this. It was entertaining but didn't make me cry. I'm gonna need to cry to remember you.

Luffs (Transcendence, #1.5) by Shay Savage Luffs Short Story/Novella - I'm so upset I paid for this because it was WAY TOO SHORT!! Give me more dammit! No stars! *whispers*5 stars*shhh*

The Shadow of the Wind (The Cemetery of Forgotten Books, #1) by Carlos Ruiz Zafón The Shadow of the Wind Finally I finished! I don't know why it took me so long to get through this because I enjoyed what I was reading. Maybe because I always read this before bed/in bed, feeling warm, comfortable and it just lulled me to sleep lol. Whatever I liked it, I tabbed it up and I don't do that shit. I'm definitely going to pick up this author again.

58421 Well, I'll be 40 this year come December so it's only fitting my goal be 40 as well.
Here we go.....

58421 Hello!
Mo from Southern California.
I've been lurking Goodreads for a year now and am hoping to engage more this year. After not cracking open a book for nearly a decade, 2022 got me to 35. Hoping to make it to 40 this year :)
Happy New Years all!

Jul 03, 2022 09:38PM

58421 I am loving Jack soooo much and the moments between him and Aliena just do it for me haha. He's just so sweet and she's so incredibly strong. ugh! love them.

58421 @Sophia crazy pants!
Jun 30, 2022 07:38PM

58421 Boy oh boy did this month get away from me, haha.
About halfway through now and adult William is even more vile than I could have imagined.

How is everyone doing? :)
Jun 17, 2022 09:40PM

58421 Surabhi, I think Philip isn't paying close enough attention to the moves being made by the powers around him and entirely too trusting. I feel that things are still in his favor by luck only.
I really like him so naturally I'm waiting for the fallout lolol

Same!
I loved his inner dialogue through that whole section too! I was so stressed but loving it haha
Jun 16, 2022 05:49PM

58421 @Surabhi I think we're around the same spot.
Even knowing that the attack was going to happen eventually because of this time period, what happened to her was so rough to read :(
Im just about to start chapter 8 now.

I'm scared for Philip and Tom....how long can this luck last?
Jun 08, 2022 10:51PM

58421 I'm just entering chapter 4 and my oh my. Jack exploring in the moonlight, that whole first part... so so enthralling!
Today is my Friday and I can't wait to get through a nice chunk of this story over the weekend.
Jun 04, 2022 02:20PM

58421 Yes! The second chapter really switched gears on us haha.
But chapter 3 though...... oooh boi, that was wild!

Alfred, SMH. I was expecting him to be so rotten.
And WILLIAM! *gasp* you little s*** how dare you!

I'm really having fun reading this! I hadn't expected action like this.
Jun 02, 2022 10:49PM

58421 Yes! Character connections feel very organic so far which I think really helps with keeping me engaged too!
Jun 02, 2022 01:26PM

58421 @Surabhi oooh man the way Ellen just slithered her way in immediately got me all bothered.
I think she really took advantage of a man in distress. He was in a very a weak emotional state after all that had happened.
I worry how this will all affect his children.

Happy reading Sophia! I'm not too speedy either so we can cruise along together :)
Jun 01, 2022 11:20PM

58421 Hi Surabhi!
The prologue drew me in quick! I hadn't actually intended to start (was just previewing) but I couldn't put it down :)
I do find the writing is surprisingly simple for the time period we're in which I guess makes for an "easier" read. Wasn't expecting that.

Then, less than 80 pages in to be fully invested in Tom and his family....whoa.
I cry at almost everything so not sure if this means much but I couldn't believe I was already tearing up so soon lol.
How are you enjoying it so far?
