I'd like to second The Life She Was Given

1978 film for the win :)

I just finished this afternoon and what a wave of memories. It really picked up in the back half and I found myself eager to get home and read some more.
I loved these little rabbits and I'm so glad I read this again as an adult. Forever a favorite indeed.

Took me about 150 pages or so to really get immersed into the story this time around as an adult. I also realized quickly that I remembered almost nothing from my first read in the 90's haha
Hope everyone is enjoying this so far if you're reading along or have finished! :)

I started reading
Piranesi today and am enthralled!

Just finished tonight!
This was wacky! lol
The first part really had me curious throughout because I didn't know where the heck it was all leading too.
Part 2 reminded me of a hazy acid trip and part 3, give me more of part 3! A real page turner for me.
I particularly loved the descriptions of Ava and the man. What a vibe.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for more from this author.

@Roevardotter, I'm cackling to myself quite a bit so far so I'm enjoying it! :)
As you've both blown right through it, I apologize as I will read this at a much slower pace. I'll poke in here again though once I read another section.
Cool to see that you gave it 5 stars. I definitely get that feeling that this may be a 5 star for me too. I like this trippy s**t :)

What a lucky bunny to have found a wonderful safe space to burrow!
I just started as well (on chapter 5) and funny how even though it's been literally decades since I've seen the movie, I can still hear the original actors voices while I read.
I forgot how instantly I fell in love with Hazel as a child too. Loving him all over again now.
Gina wrote: "Yesterday I started The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin"I read The Fifth Season a couple months ago and fell in love after being happily confused for at least half of it haha. Enjoy!!
I'm currently reading
Voyager after haaating Dragonfly in Amber. Feels good to be enjoying some
Diana Gabaldon again.

oooh y'all are fast readers! lol
perfect! I'll be able to speak freely with no worry of spoilers haha

Hey all!
I was able to get a little peace and quiet this morning and crack into this!
I'm on chapter 7 of part 1 and will likely aim to finish part 1 tonight.
I'm soooooo curious to see where this goes .

March:
Nettle & Bone I went in blind and I loved it! It was creepy, funny and I was excited to pick it up any chance I had. This is what I had expected The Graveyard Book to feel like but that one was meh for me. This, this was the winner.
Daisy Jones & The Six BORED. FUCKING BORED the entire time. This interview format did not work for me.
Loved the show though haha
A Little Life Fuck this book. I could not stop reading through the tears and the tears started early for me and well, never really stopped. I still think about these boys and I'm almost tempted to re-read this just to visit them again. A heartbreaking reminder that there are monsters among us. Ignorance sure is bliss isn't it?
What Moves the Dead Cranked through this one and yeah man, I really dig this author and can't wait to grab another from her catalog. So creepy, so good. And I love her connection with animals in each novel so far. She must have lots of pets lol.
Wicked Beauty Let's be real...I'm not reading this for the plot. The first major steam WAS A HOOOLLLY SHIT moment for sure and IT WAS GOOOD. I'm blushing just thinking about it.
And then it just kinda went, plop. Just give me more sex and less politics, come on.
At the Water's Edge I really liked Water For Elephants the more I sat on it but getting through the animal abuse is tough for me in particular. This novel, this gave me all the feels and enjoyment that I got from WFE but without harming an animal. For that, this I'll remember and think of fondly. If it were a film it would definitely be one that I've watched more times than I can count because it would just play in the background on the weekends.
6 for the month one of which was the most difficult novel I've ever read in my life. Yeah, I'll take that.
Onto the next!!

I'm personally not a fan of audiobooks and am on the side of not counting them as read books :)
Why can't we change the verbiage a bit?
Instead of saying "I read the book XYZ" when really they mean they listened to the audiobook and never actually turned a page, why can't it be "I listened to book XYZ ."
It drives me bonkers**screams internally** lol
Roevardotter wrote: "Hi, I am also joining in. Looking forward to this :)" Awesome! Thanks for joining us :)

I'd like to suggest
The Overstory for May please.

@Lisa, there's a 2018 remake?!?! How did I not know this! haha
I think I'm most excited for this next month. I haven't read Watership since the 90's but I've never forgotten it!

Woohoo! Looking forward to it! :)

Sweet! Thank you!

May I nominate
The Night Ship to also represent the element of water?

If there is still time, may I suggest
Bunny by Mona Awad for April? :)
