42178 That's awesome!! :)

Wish me luck. I'm going to have to find something. I had three collections of AOS that fit that bill, but I've listened to them already. *Sigh*

42178 I usually dislike reading on my phone, but I recently learned that using continuous scroll and the reading ruler in the app works best for me.

It’s funny because I hated the ruler on my iPad the one time I tried it out.

My settings are entirely different on each of my devices. LOL

42178 Congratulations on enjoying a good reading month. :)

Best wishes to you and your family; may your dad have a full and speedy recovery.

Don’t forget to take the time to eat, sleep, and care for yourself as well.

42178 The first story of April is completed. I have started listening to the Amazon Original Stories again.

This group is called Missing - A series of disappearances.

On a related note, Amazon's Reading Insights has stepped up its game by adding challenges.

The current Spring Challenge runs for 90 days, from April 1st - June 30th. The goal is to unlock 16 achievements (collecting pretty digital bookmarks along the way) based on the number of days read and books completed.

I completed my first achievement, called "Bookish," by reading one Kindle book during the challenge.

There is also a Mystery Category, whose achievements are set to be revealed on specific dates throughout the challenge.

The first mystery will be revealed on April 15th. Its hint is: "Brain food! Reading can be a great way to learn and expand your horizons".

If any of you have a clue what that means, please share. :)
I think it is genre-based - maybe nonfiction?

42178 Yeah, there are syncing issues, so I purposely make a point of reading via the app for a while so that it counts.

42178 Welp! Despite still not completing a book yet this month, according to my Reading Insights via the Kindle app, I have read every day since December 20th, 2021, making today the 100th day in a row! :)

Oh!

I haven't watched Grey's in YEARS like since Richard's wife Adele got sick.

I didn't know there was an American version of Broadchurch! I have not watched the British one because I was afraid it might be too dark - the same reason I haven't watched The Fall.

42178 We have: Amazon Prime, Acorn TV ( via Amazon), Hulu, Disney Plus ( via Hulu), Netflix, Paramount + ( subscribed when it was CBS All Access), and Brit Box.

I watched the first season of UPLOAD when it came out, found the premise interesting.

I am not familiar w/ Station 19.

42178 I watched Longmire a couple years ago but I’m not sure if I finished the series or not. I liked what I saw at the time.

Paramount plus is annoying me again! So they have all of FBI but they do not have all of FBI Most Wanted ! Why!?!

So they completely skip episode 18 of season one since that is the backdoor episode for Most Wanted. There is an episode in season two that is a crossover and it starts in FBI and continues in Most Wanted. Thankfully, they show those episodes back to back under FBI.
I’m trying not to burn out on the show but I’m hoping to get caught up with the FBI so that I can see the crossover between the three shows, FBI, Most Wanted, and International. International only has the one season so far so it is on Paramount plus. I just don’t wanna lose the opportunity to see it if like most wanted they only keep the most recent season.

I have also started re-watching Vera. I have a feeling she is an acquired taste. I rewatch the first two episodes, I actually re-watched the first episode and then the end of the second episode because I kind of remembered the story in the second episode and it’s sad.
I think I will have to switch off between Vera and another show. I don’t know which one though. Something a little more lighthearted (for lack of a better description) like Death in Paradise or Hope Street. Maybe Father Brown - I liked that show too.

Speaking of which, I watched all of Hope Street. Season one only has nine episodes. I enjoyed the show and look forward to season two.

What else - I tried the show Traces. Interesting premise, but I’m not sure about it. We get hints to a big conspiracy in the first episode and it didn’t sit right with me.

42178 Today is my 13th anniversary as a member of Goodreads!
Wow, I can't believe it has been that long.

Sadly, March has been the complete opposite of January, in that I have not completed a single read so far. I have been reading the same two books all month long, and it doesn't look like I will finish either of them before April.

I have been moving out of my house into a rental. It's incredible (read: shocking) the amount of crap that builds up over 18 years in one place. So the kids and I have been trying to decide what to keep, store and purge. The issue is that our storage unit is not the most accessible (and the ones that are cost three times as much), so we are learning to let things go. Some things are easier than others.

Add to the fact the rental is smaller and not as comfortable as we thought it would be. I have had to email the rental management company about one thing or another like every week - cause you know we need hot water and an A/C unit that doesn't set off the fire alarm.

I'm feeling tired/burnt out.

LOL! Yeah, I saw it was KU; I was like, "Jackpot!!" LOL!

42178 I guess I have to add this to my TBR list!

42178 Well, poop! P+ having all of F.B.I. made me want to see which other of the shows I've wanted to watch from the beginning were available - they still don't have all of S.W.A.T., and I love me some Shemar Moore!

I tried Seal Team a while back and got a couple of seasons in but fizzled for some reason.

I'm trying the C.S.I. reboot now: C.S.I. Vagas. I'm only like 8 minutes in, and it already feels like it's trying too hard.

42178 Bianca wrote: "Last night I watched the first four episodes of Pieces of Her, based on a book by Karin Slaughter. I'm loving it, I will finish the remaining for episodes tonight."

Netflix tells me that I will also love this show (at 98%) LOL
So I may try it out one weekend.

Paramount + is finally offering all seasons of the show FBI, which I've wanted to watch for a while. I'm giving that a go now. I'm not sure how many episodes I've watched (maybe 6). I like the show; it is a Dick Wolf production. I like the change of character they made between the pilot and the 2nd episode.
There are a few wooden and overacted sense, but again, I'm pretty forgiving during a show's first season, especially if I like the overall premise.
Besides, the actor who plays OA isn't bad to look at either - LOL!!

42178 The Poirot show seems to be hit or miss. Some episodes more interesting than others. It has a “small doses”, nonbingeable, feel about it.

I also started Hope Street and completed the first season so abruptly that it took me by surprise. I like the show. Very bingeable!

I am now trying Murder in Provence. I’m only halfway through the first episode, but it is so dry! There is also an air of pretentiousness that I don’t think is meant to be there.
It could just be pilot episode jitters, though. *Shrug*

My initial instincts to watch Shetland or Vera was probably right. Although, I’m glad I found Hope Street as well.

42178 Okay, so I've gone a little poll crazy! ...
Umm... wait ... that doesn't sound right!
Anyway, I think creating and participating in polls are fun, so I have another one for anyone so inclined to participate. :)

April - which should I read first?

Thank you! :)

I was going to wait to finish Saga today (end of series, challenge, and month), but with so many reviews stating how heartbreaking it was, I had to know how the series left off!

They were right!
