4170 When I got my first regular job, I started going to Don's Paperback Books in Albuquerque, NM, to get my reading fix. The store has always had a good selection of used SF&F titles, as well as other genre fiction. Two weeks ago I was there and Don was in the store. He's retired and his daughter runs the business now. His granddaughter works there too. I hadn't seen him in a while, but he recognized me and said, "You've been coming here for a long time, haven't you?" Turns out he was right. I started buying books there more than 40 years ago. Time flies when you're reading good books!

Got it. Been waiting for a reasonable price on this one."

You're welcome. I had been waiting as well. I refused to pay $10 for a novella."

I kept waiting for the Murderbot books to go on sale and eventually gave up, got reacquainted with my local library, where I discovered that they cheerfully order fiction titles like these for the collection.

4170 Watched all six episodes this weekend. Tennant and Sheen are terrific. It's nice to watch a complete story without real world or scripted distractions. I guess Neil Gaiman worked on the screenplay, which may be why it feels like a tight script.

I think the data represents a recent timeslice of wikipedia searching, so something happening in recent news can probably skew the results.

4170 Hat tip to John Scalzi for a link to A People Map of the US. Scalzi's post is at https://whatever.scalzi.com/2019/05/3...

A People Map of the US is at https://pudding.cool/2019/05/people-map/

I live in George R.R. Martin, also known as Santa Fe, NM

Too bad it's only the US and not just authors. You might live in a serial killer or some less lethal celebrity.

Uh oh! The coming of winter has dulled Tassie Dave's prognostication skills.
