4170 This is science fiction of the historical kind; an entertaining book about the early days of the US space program.

I wonder how closely they will follow the book. Might be difficult to do it all in eight episodes."

4170 I haven't watched the first episode yet, but a Verge reviewer thinks they cut too much from the book.

4170 My challenge numbers as of July 1 are:

Sword: 21/30
Laser: 12/30
Comics: 8/24
Shorts: 26/24

The Hugo shorts put me over the top for the short story challenge. As the years pass, my reading is increasingly skewed sword. I used to be more laser. What's up with that?

I'm trying to finish up my Hugo reading with the novelettes (2 to go), the novellas (3 to go) and one more novel (Space Opera). I wish I had time to look at related works, comics, and art books, but there aren't enough hours in the day.
4170 The STARZ adaptation of Daniel O'Malley's The Rook, a past Sword & Laser pick, premieres on June 30

https://mediaroom.starz.com/series/th...

Looks like there will be eight episodes in this mini-series. Will you be watching? I think I may sign up for Starz. The first seven days are free, so I suppose one could also wait a couple of months and binge.

You're welcome. The Portalist is part of Open Road Media which publishes digital editions of older works of fiction. They publish a lot of science fiction that I read years ago and they routinely put interesting books on sale.
