Mr. Hauer did great work in some memorable genre films. According to IMDb he was filming A Christmas Carol as the Ghost of Christmas Future. I wonder if he finished?

IMBb also reminded me that he was the title character in Hobo with a Shotgun ;-)

4170 I liked the story, but I agree that we kind of sprinted through the conclusion. However, it's a decent first novel. I'd be willing to read more from Ms. Nichols.
