I will read one with a door or gate on the cover. I have the next two days off so that leaves nothing but time for audiobooks and getting some of my commission needlework done.

Nice! This is great. We have another boon to use by next Saturday, but I don't want to use it until the last possible moment. We don't know what goals we will be assigned throughout the week :)

Guys...I'm hooked on American Gods. The first chapter grabbed me. It helps that I'm listening to the full cast recording, so I feel like I'm watching a movie...without the whole watching part...so listening to a movie? I'll shut up now.

I'm starting it right this SECOND! Pressure's on Gaiman...pressure's on.

Wait is someone actually reading the books? I've just been chatting Hahahaha When does the next season start anyway? Love me some GoT!

Take a look on page 1 for a list of the current goals. We fulfilled the "wolf, lion etc" one so our updated goals are in that first post.

I'm kind of excited for us to read American Gods...I feel like we all have such varying opinions on Gaiman that I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's updates!

I totally get it, Erin. I'm in a very strange dark literary place right now hahaha You know how every once in a while you just need a downer book? Is that a thing? Hahahaha

Those Game of Thrones books are a COMMITMENT. I love the show but I don't think I can commit to that book series hahaha I'm going to finish Trail of Broken Wings today but it won't fulfill any goals unfortunately. I'm holding onto hope re: American Gods! It SOUNDS interesting so...here's hoping haha

26. Wow, this was an exciting section! Kaz shows up after his encounter with Pekka Rollins covered in blood and lies to the group about finding him. Any new thoughts on what you think happened between Kaz and Pekka in that cell?

I have my suspicions...

27. When Matthias showed up outside of Nina's cell with Brum, he totally had me thinking that he had betrayed the team! Did he fool you too?

I was SOOOOO lost! I had been listening to the book and getting ready for work at the same time so I was like wait. What the...DID I MISS SOMETHING?! So I went back and listened more closely, and was still blown away! I thought to myself that it seemed like too big of a character twist for a YA book but I didn't know!!! Long story short, I freaked out.


28. Brum reveals that his people have been experimenting on the Grisha for at least 15 years. So apparently the Grisha are worth keeping alive only if they use their abilities under the control and direction of the Fjerda. Now that Matthias knows the truth about what his people have been doing, do you think he'll still return home after he gets his pardon (if the team is successful)?

Not at all. His family is gone, he has no reason to go back save for his oath, and I think that at this point he sees that as a lie. I think he feels betrayed. This is even bigger than Nina. His whole identity comes into question.


29. Wow, those Tidemakers were scary! We've now seen Squallers and Tidemakers fight our team. Will they face Inferni? What would an attack from jarda-parem-taking Inferni look like?

30. The team's plans keep getting thwarted, and now with Inej captured, do you think the whole team will make it out alive?

I hope so...I knew something like this would happen. I'm not pleased. This book was so damn good! When does the second one come out???

I rated it 3 stars but it's really more like 2...
