Read a book set in the time period "Middle Ages""

The medieval era, often called The Middle Ages or the Dark Ages, began around 476 A.D. following a great loss of power throughout Europe by the Roman Emperor. The Middle Ages span roughly 1,000 years, ending between 1400 and 1450.

35559 Also, just so no one freaks out when the see the planning sheet, we hid all the used books that have been moved to the main spreadsheet to make it a little easier to access the bottom section.

35559 We are all confusing each other LOL. I assume everyone is comfortable with the SS? Please pick a task you'd like to read for, and note all other tasks under other tasks. Once we know what our options are, we can move it around if needed.

I think everyone has been doing a great job at updating the planning sheet. So, if you see an unclaimed task, I think it's safe to assume it's open and okay to claim.

35559 Okay I restored the previous version. All your edits have been deleted Tara. You'll have to refresh the page and re-add your books.

35559 Sam wrote: "Also, I've just finished The Odyssey by Homer on June 7th. It would count for a book published before 1970 right?"

Just looked through your shelf - The Odyssey: A Graphic Novel won't work. For graphic novels to qualoify for the challenge, they need to have a min of 30K words. This book has a little under 17K. Sorry :(

Perfect! Also, I know we discussed you not adding all your read books since you were approaching your cap. Since you can now read 25 books, feel free to add all your read books to the SS.
Jun 09, 2025 05:26AM

35559 Hi Sam! Yes, odyssey would count. I DM-ed you the link to our spreadsheet. Once you send me a request, I’ll approve it. You can then start adding any books you finished on or after June 7th to the SS. Feel free to assign any open mini task (using the mini ref number, which is the number next to the task name) to your books. Also notes all other tasks the book will work for under other tasks. All this will make a lot more sense once you have access to the SS :)

35559 Welcome Sam! Great to have you on the team :) feel free to drop an intro and a link to your tower shelf. You’ll also need to request editor access to the planning sheet. If you’re unable to figure out how to do that, feel free to DM me your email and I’ll add you to the sheet.

Happy reading!

I can take this. Dark Memory (Dark #33) by Christine Feehan set in Algeria."

Oh Algeria! we can use that for our itinerary (Mini 1) instead since that will get us 20 points.

35559 I combed through the other threads to find a book for tango in text. I found the following. Let me know if anyone would like to read any of these.

I'm Your Huckleberry: A Memoir
Northern Lights - I quite enjoyed this book! Definitely learnt a lot about Alaska!
Hold Strong (highly recommend the author, haven't read the book)
